Movies I've seen that you might want to rent [cranky-d]

I’ve avoided posting for a long while since I don’t do news summaries, and that appears to be the focus of the site, but this seems like a good time to post blather that can be quickly forgotten. I don’t see movies on a first-run basis. Instead, I wait for them to hit the cheapo theater down the street from me. They get movies just before the DVD is released.

Lancet=Sterile Coat Hanger, Front Alley [Dan Collins]

Progressive: Deirdre A. McQuade, an official of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), criticized a study by researchers from the Guttmacher Institute and the World Health Organization published in the October 13, 2007 issue of The Lancet, calling for the global legalization and promotion of abortion, “Induced Abortion: Estimated Rates and Trends Worldwide.” “Some say the new Guttmacher study shows that legalizing abortions makes them ‘safe;’ but the

Great Googly-Moogly [Dan Collins]

Details emerged only in 2002 when the letters were sold for £8,220 at Bonhams, the auctioneers. All right. So some “Royal”

Peter Jackson Is Wrong [Dan Collins]

Yesterday in the comments to a post on Ardolino, Peter Jackson opined that his website sucks. I didn’t recall that, so I went over there and spent some time there this morning, and can unequivocally state that Peter’s just wrong about his website. I also checked out the trailers to the Coen Brothers’ new movie, No Country for Old Men, based on the Cormac McCarthy novel and in theaters November
