protein wisdom responds to Jim Sensenbrenner’s call to punish “indecent” broadcasters with criminal prosecution
First, though, the story. From MSNBC: The chairman of one of the entertainment industry’s most important congressional committees says he wants to take the enforcement of broadcast decency standards into the realm of criminal prosecution. Rep. F. James Sensenbrenner III, R-Wis., told cable industry executives attending the National Cable & Telecommunications Assn. conference here on Monday that criminal prosecution would be a more efficient way to enforce the indecency regulations.
I’m thinking that I’d like to write the world’s scariest novel
The thing holding me back is that I have no plot. Or characters. Or setting. And I haven’t yet done any of the research necessary to make the story seem real—though in my defense, I attribute this deficiency to not yet having a plot, characters, or setting. Ideas? Leave them in the comments.
Sean Hannity has an important question for his satellite location producer
Hannity: “Did you get that? Because I think I just really nailed that squinty concerned look thingy I do with my eyebrows..”
BREAKING: THE JEFF GANNON GAY PORN COCK OF LIES REMAINS “UNCUT” AND 8-INCHES “AT ITS ABSOLUTE STIFFEST,” SOURCES SAY
No story here, sorry. I just missed writing “GAY PORN COCK OF LIES.” And the truth is, we writers sometimes grow quite attached to certain of our own phrases. I’m not too proud to admit that. **** update: BECAUSE OF THE HYPOCRISY!
“The yin and yang of intimate interpersonal relationships post, 7” (from the protein wisdom conceptual series)

9 indications that you might not be appropriate “academy” material, in Paul Krugman’s estimation
You adhere to the crazy “conservative” notion that US has been a force for good in the world Your quasi-retarded decision to vote for Ronald Reagan all but destroyed the last great hope for economic and social equity that was at the core of Communism. Your antipathy to the UN proves that you’d be unable to abide the consent-driven grievance politics so essential to the proper functioning of university humanities
Inside my (ivory-covered) sugar walls
In his April 5 column, Paul Krugman argues that the lack of conservative faculty members in college is not a product of bias, but rather is the result of certain deficiencies in conservative thought—an argument I’ve heard made elsewhere by, for instance, esteemed wymynist and law professor, Susan Estrich, among others. Leaving aside for the moment Krugman’s imbecilic and cartoonish reduction of conservative thought to something “increasingly dominated by people
Don’t forget to call or listen
Rightalk Radio Toll-free Call-in number: 1-866-884-8255 (866-884-TALK) **** update: evidently, Oliver Willis emailed Bill with a new number a couple hours before the show. But Bill was getting ready for the broadcast and didn’t get ODub’s email until AFTER the show ended. Oliver didn’t cc: the email to me, nor did he try to call Rightalk. So there you have it. I phoned Oliver (he clearly doesn’t much like me)
