My goodness. Irony this pure usually has to be cut with baking soda to keep it from burning through your nostril cartilage. (thanks to Ernst; h/t IP)

500 lb two hand deadlift
On the plateau buster just now. Multiple reps. Which is pretty good, until you realize that Andrew Durniat was able to do a one-handed deadlift of 600 lbs. on the same piece of equipment. Still. Can you do it? That’s what I thought. Here’s Durniat setting the world record:
“Women paid significantly less in Obama White House than their male counterparts”
Hilary Rosen’s OUTRAGE over this attack on working women has evidently been so loud only dogs can hear it. Daily Mail: All of President Barack Obama’s employees may not be treated equally in the White House, as recently released financial records show that female employees earn significantly less than their male counterparts. Using the 2011 annual report of White House staff salaries that was submitted to Congress, an $11,000 difference
“Obama’s quixotic wind program”
Suprisingly, the title isn’t referring to the Obama Administration more generally. Rebekah Rast: Wind power only accounts for about 1 percent of all the energy used in the U.S. today. In 2010, it accounted for 2.3 percent of all electricity generated in the U.S. These numbers aren’t low due to a lack of turbine farms in America, they are low because turbines only generate a percentage of their theoretical maximum
“Al Sharpton Equates Trayvon Martin Case With Jesus’ Crucifixion”
Which, to follow along with the Reverend’s logic, would make Sharpton, say, the Apostle Paul — while “white Hispanic” George Zimmerman is, I suppose, some unholy amalgamation of Judas, the Jews, the Beast, and Pontius Pilate. — And of course, we have to allow that Jesus, were he to have Tweeted, would have done so as “NO_LIMIT_NIGGA” and shown a fondness for “tight pussies” and blunts. Sharpton goes on to
“North Korea marks founder’s 100th birthday with failed rocket launch”
Ronery. So ronery. Andrew Malcolm, IBD, out-Onioning the Onion: Despite international warnings, North Korea’s loopy Communist regime fired off an intercontinental rocket early this morning, local time. The launch went great. The flight not so good. According to American military sources, in less than a minute the controversial rocket broke apart and never left Earth’s atmosphere. […] North Korea claimed the rocket was carrying a weather satellite into space. For
“New study undermines economic rationale behind ending Bush tax cuts, the Buffett Rule and the work of Piketty and Saez, Obama’s favorite economists”
Pethokoukis: [H]ere’s Obama this week: “What drags our entire economy down is when the benefits of economic growth and productivity go only to the few, which is what’s been happening for over a decade now, and gap between those at the very, very top and everybody else keeps growing wider and wider and wider and wider.” Underlying Obama’s entire thesis is the work of two economists, Thomas Piketty and Emmanuel
“The Tea Party Is Not Over”
So argues R. Emmett Tyrrell in the American Spectator. And yet, the commentators seem not to believe him — the reason being, I suspect, having much to do with the fact that the GOP establishment has been fighting the TEA Partiers in Congress, in the media, and, finally, during the GOP primary. Reducing them to caricatures. Dismissing them as naive, unhelpful, dangerous, and an embarrassment. Hairy-footed Hobbits who simply don’t
Ann Romney, inauthentic woman
Bitch has never worked a day in her life, and she’s married to a weird rich Republican guy. What they hell would she know about what women care about? Authentic women, that is — you know, the kinds who can’t afford the luxury of being stay at home parents. Or, like, the luxury of being pampered cancer survivors. Or MS sufferers. Some women, even after being punished with a child
“Why Obama Hates Paul Ryan”
According to Senior Fellow at the Carleson Center for Public Policy, Director of Entitlement and Budget Policy for the Heartland Institute, and General Counsel of the American Civil Rights Union Peter Ferrara, who served for both Reagan and Bush I, the reason is really pretty basic: Obama isn’t a terribly bright guy to begin with, and juxtaposed with Ryan on issues of the economy and tax policy, his light dims
