31K fewer Americans have jobs in March, unemployment rate improves!
Once again, the Obama Administration has hit on a way to fix a horrific jobs market: play with perceptions by playing with numbers! At this rate, Obama is hoping to see an additional 4 million people leave the workforce by, say, September or October. That way, he can boast about a 5-6% unemployment rate and the media will help push that fantasy. Or will they?

Friday news of the day open thread
Whatever nasty GI virus my son had he passed on to me. So I’ll be spending most of my time today purging my body of whatever it’s taken in over the last day or so. Not by choice, either. If I start feeling a little better or can find some time in between emergencies, I’ll try to post some things later on today. But word is, this thing sticks around
