I have seen the future, and it’s Meghan John McCain. I call on all good Republicans to join this hottie, er patriot in her, I mean his run to the White House. I can think of no greater honor than getting behind this great American family, and I mean really getting behind her them. Let’s all pull together for a great cause and send a McCain to Washington.

GOP 2008: How Rudy Can Win [Karl]
MayBee writes: Karl!!!!!! I need you to tell me how Rudy can win. At the moment, my advice would be for him to take the Patriots, though the Giants plus the points cannot be ruled out.

Megan’s Other Law? [Dan Collins]
As a result of Megan Meier’s suicide: A Senate committee heard testimony Monday night on the bill, sponsored by Sen. Scott Rupp, a Republican, that is modeled after recommendations from a special gubernatorial task force created to study Internet harassment. The proposed law would punish someone 21 or older who harassed someone 17 years old or younger with up to four years in prison. It also would require school officials
Cannabis bigger cancer risk than cigarettes [Dan Collins]
Bummer.  New Zealand, so it’s probably not biased, dudes. It’s all good, though.  A little doob will take the edge off of the nausea from the chemo.ÂÂ
Andrew Sullivan seeks Prez who sounds serious? [Karl]
Excitable Andy was “horrified” (though not gobsmacked) by the State of the Union speech: The contrast between the banal cheeriness of the president’s demeanor and the grave threats he faces was unsettling. This from the blogger who advocates fighting Islamism with more confidence and less fear. Sully apparently has not considered that he and his fellow travelers have helped to push public opinion toward apathy over the threats we face,
Airbrushing FISA-noia at Reason magazine [Karl]
Kos asks libertarians to jump on the FISA issue. At Reason magazine’s aptly-named Hit & Run blog, David Weigel’s response is, “How high?” Weigel writes that “Reason has been on the FISA beat for a while,” which is another way of saying “not heavy on the surveillance beat since the 1970s,” but sharing Kos’s aversion to the current administration. Weigel was so eager to jump in bed with the Kossacks

Marc Ambinder questions whether some of McCain’s last-minute robocalls are gay-baiting. At Captain’s Quarters, Cap’n Ed correctly notes that “distortions and context shifts form the bread and butter of (political) advertising,” and notes that the ads
Gorgeous Russian Women [Dan Collins]
Where did they come from? Russia? Anne Applebaum asks this question in an article that, while admittedly frivolous, nevertheless enlightens us on the subject of . . . I haven’t the vaguest idea what she’s yammering about, but it’s about hawt Russian women. And while we’re on this subject, I just want to take issue with Keith Olbermann’s characterization of Mary Katharine as the Worst Person in the World. It’s true
Beware Disgruntled Unemployed Muslim Charity Workers [Dan Collins]
Austin: I guess he really lost his head. I suppose he’ll never be the head of a large corporation. It’s a shame, he really had a good head on his shoulders. A 37-year-old Birmingham man has pleaded guilty to plotting to kidnap and kill a British soldier. Parviz Khan, an unemployed charity worker, intended to seize and behead the unnamed Muslim serviceman “like a pig”, Leicester Crown Court was told.
