“The Democratic War on One Woman”

This is how it works, isn’t it? Claim to champion the type while attacking specific instances of the type (if push comes to shove, just note that they aren’t a particular authentic instance) — then use the claim that you champion the type as proof of your identity group bona fides and commitment to social justice. — All at the expense of the individual. And all of a piece with

Global tyranny, dressed in green finery

Be afraid.  Be very afraid. And to think:  those who back in the early days of blogging (myself among them) used to go on about how the entirety of this “green energy” gambit was merely a move by transnational progressives to re-order the world  through huge transfers of wealth from “rich” countries to “poor” countries — under the name of “fairness” (and as a way to salve past instances of

“New federal agency OFR stirs ‘Orwellian’ fears”

Taxing authority with no House oversight or involvement? Why, what could go wrong?  FOXNews: It is the most powerful federal agency you’ve never heard of — and lawmakers from both parties on Thursday vowed to keep abreast of its astonishing growth and rein it in, if necessary. The Office of Financial Research, or OFR, was created by the Dodd-Frank financial services overhaul that President Obama signed into law in July

Blood evidence, redux

As a follow-up to Darleen’s post, let me just add a few additional thoughts. First, what is most troubling to me about all this — outside of the calculated (and as it turns out, dishonest) attempts by the media and even our own President turn a local tragedy into a symbol of supposed racial animus — is that Zimmerman was arrested months later in what I believe is a case

Marc L’Hommedieu, remembered

I get emails: Jeff, I lived with Marc L’Hommedieu as a housemate over 10 years ago. I was following a link from Pinterest today and came across Deviant Art, and thought I’d look up Marc’s page. When I followed the google link of his name to your blog, I was horrified. I honestly can’t believe it’s the same person writing all of these things to you. I have no idea

Blood evidence [Darleen Click]

ABC News A new photograph obtained exclusively by ABC News showing the bloodied back of George Zimmerman’s head, which was taken three minutes after he shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, gives possible credence to his claim that Martin had bashed his head against the concrete as he fought for his life. […] The exclusive image shows blood trickling down the back of George Zimmerman’s head from two small cuts.

The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down

RIP, Levon Helm.

When Nancy Pelosi Speaks…

Something idiotic is bound to come out of her cosmetically stretched and plumped pie hole. Case in point:  “Amend the First Amendment”: House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi on Thursday endorsed a movement announced by other congressional Democrats on Wednesday to ratify an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would allow Congress to regulate political speech when it is engaged in by corporations as opposed to individuals. The First Amendment says

“Our border is still a sieve and we need more troops on the border…”

“… or some law enforcement agency, or troops to secure the border.” Or, you know, we could just do nothing, call that intended impotence “comprehensive immigration reform,” then pat ourselves on the back for being such champions of universal human liberty.  Plus, more people to pander to! — Which, hell, that seems a lot easier — and a lot more gratifying — than being labeled a xenophobic hater of the
