See? Now this is how it’s done

Laura Ingraham vs. Gloria Feldt. When feminist orthodoxy begins supporting gay men who savage women for having the wrong political opinion, it has, as Ingraham implies, become nothing more than another advocacy arm of a particular political ideology. To be an authentic woman — or at least, a women who isn’t suffering from false consciousness — one must support the political aims of those women who have established and who

Bravo, Patterico [Dan Collins]

Perez Hilton makes bogus copyright claim to cause YouTube to pull video of him calling Carrie Prejean a “b*tch” and a “c*nt”; Patterico reposts, will defend right to use in court if necessary. Squirm, b*tch.

RS McCain Designates This National Offend a Feminist Week [Dan Collins]

by which, I’m sure, he means the second-wave type. I don’t think that we’ll have to try very hard, as Jeff’s very existence is offensive to them.

Queer Eye for the Straight Guy: Beauty Pageant Edition [Dan Collins]

Hot on the heels of Perez Hilton’s making an annual homage to the feminine form all about him, we’ve got the odious Michael Musto on the odious Keith Olbermann’s odious show, trying to make it all about Michael Musto. The Miss Universe Pageant, of which Miss USA is a part, specifically debars transsexuals from participation, which is why it’s necessary for Musto, apparently, to claim that Miss Prejean is a

Be afraid.

Be very afraid. But whatever you do, don’t use the word “fascism.” Far too fraught and icky, that word is — and we don’t want to alienate moderates who will forever insist that, in exchange for their support, “our” side agrees never to push a conservative / classical liberal agenda.

Not the GOP I knew!

David Harsanyi, Denver Post: It was a mere four years ago that the Republican Party governed — and I assure you I employ the word “govern” reluctantly — every level of federal government. Few experts construed this to mean that the Democratic Party was forever irrelevant or a rotting cadaver. What were the future apparatchiks up to as Republicans were busy breaking every promise, crime and piggy bank they could

Whom Will Obama Appoint to Supremes? [Dan Collins]

Now that Souter is retiring? Naturally, a woman. Preferably, a minority. Obviously, not a Catholic. Hmmmmmm. Allah Pundit archly suggests on Twitter that Michelle Obama might fit the bill. Then, she would have that salary that she craves. But isn’t this thinking rather limited? Why are there no trannies on the Supreme Court? Haven’t American Siamese twins been historically under-represented? Who’s your ideal candidate?

Silvestre Reyes Addresses the CYA [Dan Collins]

Two related articles at the Washington Times today. The first discusses Obama’s post-partisan blame-the-Republicans performance in his most recent presser: President Obama said his prime-time press conference on Day 100 of his presidency was intended as a “look forward to … all of the hundreds of days to follow,” but it turned into more of a look back in anger, complete with finger-pointing. Throughout his hourlong session in the White

This Guy Was Gonna Save Baseball (CraigC)

Remember Barry Bonds? Remember when he broke the HR record, and the pundits were all bemoaning the fact that his record was tainted by steroid use? Remember the line du jour? Let’s see, I think it was, “We’ll just have to wait a few years until A-Rod breaks the record, then baseball will be as clean as the driven snow again.” Uh-huh. Ummmm……Bitch Tits? Bitch Tits??  How embarrassing is that?

“Supreme Court Justice Souter To Retire”

NPR: NPR has learned that Supreme Court Justice David Souter is planning to retire at the end of the court’s current term. The court has completed hearing oral arguments for the year and will be issuing rulings and opinions until the end of June. Souter is expected to remain on the bench until a successor has been chosen and confirmed, which may or may not be accomplished before the court
