March 2013

As relevant today as it was in 2008

From my archives, “Outlaw Speak,” November 6, 2008. (Please note that at the time, mine was a site that could generate comment threads into the five hundreds. Today, most posts never get into the 20s. And yet the message has remained largely the same. As has my integrity. Go figure.) In response to my (evidently controversial) post yesterday on the dangers of what I take to be false nobility —

Outlawism, ascendant!

As longtime readers will recall, in the wake of John McCain’s pathetic, milquetoast, almost apologetic presidential campaign — which resulted in the election of Barack Obama — I berated the Mitch McConnells of the world, who told us (just two short years before the TEA Party revolution hit the electoral scene with an unpredicted fury) that the “era of Reagan was over,” and that Republicans who continued to speak in

Richard Milhouse Obama: “If Congress won’t act soon to protect future generations, I will” [Darleen Click]

A Nixon-era law that mandates agencies to assess projects for actual pollution will, at Obama’s executive order, be extended to so-called climate change President Barack Obama is preparing to tell all federal agencies for the first time that they have to consider the impact on global warming before approving major projects, from pipelines to highways. The result could be significant delays for natural gas- export facilities, ports for coal sales

The Senior Senator from California beclowns herself [Darleen Click]

It should be noted, if you can get through Feinstein’s hysterical screaming of SQUIRREL, that m’lady has forgotten it was Senator Ted Cruz who “drafted the amicus brief signed by attorneys general of 31 states, which said that the D.C. handgun ban should be struck down” aka Heller. Oopsy!

No relation. But definitely a kinship.

This made me smile.  Then, I realized over 40 people had given it a thumbs down, and I remembered why I spend some days as a complete misanthropist. (h/t JohnInFirestone)

“‘God particle’ discovered, physicists say”

Called the Higgs boson, the particle was predicted in the 60s by Peter Higgs to help explain what gives matter and electrons their size and shape. Upon learning of the discovery, an understandably crestfallen Obama quietly ordered the IRS to “audit that fucking thing until it feels so violated that it goes the hell back to where it came from.”

“Boehner: GOP a ‘minority party’”

Well, except in the people’s House, from which taxing and spending bills come, and from which funding determinations are hammered out.  There, the GOP is a majority.  Though it seems of late to have forgotten that, voting with the “minority party” in the House to pass that minority party’s agenda. So I guess in a kind of convoluted way, Boehner is correct, after all! ALG: In an exclusive interview with

“Senate committee approves assault weapons ban”

FOX News: The Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday approved a renewed assault-weapons ban, advancing the measure to the Senate floor where it will face intense resistance from Republicans and other gun-rights supporters. The bill was approved by the committee on a party-line, 10-8 vote. Chief sponsor, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., said she knows “the road is uphill” for the legislation, but sought to press her colleagues to consider the bill.

Levin: why are you lying, Mr President?

Mark Levin takes on the “Jim Jones Democrats” and the feckless GOP leadership both during last night’s interview on “Hannity”: Honest to God: a trillion dollars in new taxes, coupled to a 62% spending increase on budget over 10-years? A President who out of one side of his mouth claims we don’t have an immediate deficit problem, while out of the other proclaiming the need for a “balanced approach” to

Mob rule populism

Looking for political cover should he accede to the Bloomberg/DC anti-gun, pro-criminal measures passed by CO Dems on party line votes, Gov Hickenlooper has said he is tallying emails, pro and con, to determine where he’ll wind up on the proposed gun grabbing legislation  that will soon reach his desk. Anti-gun groups are likely to use astro-turfing to stuff Hickenlooper’s inbox; therefore, it is imperative that 2nd Amendment guardians please
