Without more and bigger government regulations, drought and famine are inevitable

Followed, no doubt, by pestilence. And locust plagues. And the death of your first born son. But worry not: Barack Obama and the Democrats are the lamb’s blood you smear on your door frame. — Which, I guess maybe the Dems didn’t remove God from their party platform at all. They’ve merely repackaged him as the State, with helpful, dedicated, moral, and beneficent bureaucrats looking out for your poor souls

“The two parties of Big Government”

I do so love it when I’m no longer out on the rhetorical cliff’s edge alone, my hairy Hobbity feet holding precariously to a loose, gravelly lip … Rebekah Rast: Would the author of the New Deal be pleased with the state of Social Security 80 years later?  Did President Johnson, when approving of the Medicare amendment in 1965, know of the volatility of such a program and the government

on that Democrat Party platform

So far, we know it removes pro-Israel language, removes any mention of God, calls for a Constitutional Amendment to restrict free speech, blames lenders for tricking buyers into purchasing homes they couldn’t afford, and calls for an international effort to reduce greenhouse gases (but take off your tinfoil hats, birthery bitterclingers: the left doesn’t want transnational progressivism and an end to sovereignty. That’s just crazy talk!). The takeaway is this:

“Gov. Malloy to Rep. Chaffetz: ‘Where have you been on a jobs bill?'”

I often get these alerts in my email — I’m sure many of you do, too — and oftentimes I’m struck by the disconnect between what, for instance, CNN thinks it’s accomplishing and what it is that’s actually being accomplished by what they choose to promote. This is a case in point. Notes the email: Gov. Malloy (D-CT) says to Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT), “Which president saved the automobile industry?

Bob is a Racist — and if you don’t vote, Barack, you are too [Darleen Click]

It’s pretty good parody, unfortunately, it’s way too close to the truth to be laugh-out-loud funny. Listening even to snippets from the Democrats Convention last night is to hear that the biggest problem this country faces is from white, heteronormative families who go to church and are successful. And then to hear the most snort-worthy quote from the First Mommy Dearest ,… “I love that for Barack, there’s no such

DNC Video: “The Government Is The Only Thing We All Belong To”

Talk about your political tone deafness. We belong to the government? And here I thought it belonged to us. Oh, well. I guess when the personal is the political, the only legitimate opt out from a voracious centralized government that claims for itself increasing control of every aspect of your life is death. — And which point you vote Democrat, anyway. May as well just lie back and think of

“Pro-Israel Language Removed From Democratic Party Platform”

Also removed?  Any mention of God. And before any of you racist Zionist evangelical wingnuts (but I repeat myself!) go making any fraught connections between these two entirely disparate omissions, allow me to remind you that some of Obama’s best friends are Chuck Schumer. So. (h/t leigh)

“Why America is much worse off that it was four years ago”

Jim Pethokoukis uses charts to make the case.  Me, I think the answer is pretty obvious, charts or no:  every so often, and for whatever the reasons, the left is able to convince Americans that they aren’t really who we know they are.  After which, they take power, run left, and create economic displacement, high unemployment, and a country that is less free and more government-centric. Then, after each such

Bloggers Defense Team / Day By Day auction

Seems like some of those on the left who’ve for years insisted that many right wing bloggers are but cartoons have finally been vindicated. Still. I get to stand next to Sarah Palin.  So it’s almost worth it.

“Scott Brown called ‘honorary girl’ for folding laundry: Uproar sparks apology”

Sometimes the Democrats forget they are the party of womyns, I think.  At which time they inadvertently let on that their entire grievance politics schtick is but a showy form of false morality steeped in rank political opportunism.  Nothing more. At any rate, I think the real question on everyone’s mind — or rather, on the minds of seasoned blog readers — is this:  how was Brown able to carry
