So far, no sponsorship pullouts of note that I’ve heard about. But then, there’s like, a totally good reason for the double standard: nobody takes leftwing liberals seriously anyway. CNN’s Jay McMichael: “We’re very excited about having Louis C.K. at the dinner. This is an evening you’ll want to experience. We’re shaking things up, showcasing the unexpected, and delivering lots of laughs.” For the record? Here’s a bit of CNN’s

“The Vetting: Obama Embraces Racialist Harvard Prof”
From Breitbart: Earlier today, Buzzfeed’s Ben Smith announced on Twitter that video researcher Andrew Kaczynski had released “the mysterious Harvard/Obama/race video that the Breitbart folks have been talking about.” The video, which Kaczynski says was “licensed from a Boston television station,” shows a young Barack Obama leading a protest at Harvard Law School on behalf of Prof. Derrick Bell, a radical academic tied to Jeremiah Wright–about whom we will be
Romney: we can’t really blame Obama for higher gas prices
That would be unfair. And ungentlemanly, presumably. This despite the Obama Administration’s stated desire for higher gas prices as a way to ease fuel-guzzling bitterclingers out of their automobiles, this despite their attendant policies that have worked to assure a lower supply, from blocking drilling to nixing pipelines. Not to mention Obama’s own clearly articulated war on coal and electrical power, the costs for which he’s deemed must “necessarily skyrocket.”
All your diets are belong to us
What does it say about our country that a once fiercely independent people who claimed they’d walk a mile for a Camel can’t today be expected to walk (or bike, or drive, or be driven) a mile for some healthy arugula or a properly portioned take-out cup of broccoli salad? Other than maybe that they just don’t really want the stuff? I’ll tell you what it says: it says that
When you’ve lost your own relatives…
Okay, seriously. Has the national GOP and its antiquated, feckless, would-be kingmaker apparatus really become this big a joke? I mean, seriously, Rove. You and your whiteboard couldn’t even force on us an erstwhile “progressive” independent Paul Tsongas voter and Reagan opponent who had the universal support of his own family? Shit, man. It’s like you guys aren’t even trying any more. (h/t JHo)
Obama dodges Maher question at yesterday’s “press conference”
Evidently, somebody from HuffPo (perhaps taking a cue from Sarah Palin?) went off script and Obama, as is his untelepromptered wont, panicked, pointedly ignoring the reporter and talking over the question to call on a friendlier one from a CNN scribe. The query the snubbed HuffPo reporter attempted to get Obama to address concerned the President’s acceptance, via a Super PAC, of Bill Maher’s million dollar donation — this despite
When your only principle is winning the next election … [Darleen Click] UPDATED
*********** UPDATE 1 Lack of sleep can make anyone go a little batty. Seasoned broadcast veteran Tom Brokaw appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe and did a hilarious impression of one of Mitt Romney‘s trademark facial tics — the “white man overbite.” Prior to Brokaw’s imitation, the other panelists were discussing what the Republican hopeful had to do to corral conservative supporters. “They’ve got to figure out to gently nudge the
