The left isn’t fighting against fascism. Instead, they are fighting FOR authoritarianism. They claim that their political message transcends the law; that it allows them to control cities; that it allows them to destroy property; that it justifies their designs on canceling heretics; that it permits them to block roads, create no-go zones for non-rioters, prosecute those who stand against them while themselves avoiding persecution. Leftist-run cities have shown what

On knees on necks
Kneeling for the Anthem does nothing to address “racism,” save to exacerbate it; such woke theater only serves to antagonize half the country — the message being “we are protesting you and your historic culpability in the kind of systemic racism that forced us to wait until we were in our 20s to become millionaires who play a game for a living.” It is not a show of solidarity for

Financial status, update
Well, my wife got part of the raise we were hoping for, which definitely helps. But that means we’re still going to be about $300 short per month. Her company wants to revisit her situation in 4 months. I’ve been able to bring in a lot of extra income this year, but again, the $50K we’re spending on medical and taxes out of her gross is keeping us underwater. Fortunately,
A heartfelt Thank You note
Helen, Satchel, Tanner, and I would like to thank everyone who donated this past week. Things are certainly looking up for us, and it appears — should Helen get her raise and /or promotion — that we will be in a position to recover fully once all the dust settles. And that’s because of all of you: over 730 people donated; and each one made a difference. If you sent
An identity politics post to revisit
We haven’t really moved the needle back much. In fact, too many people have thrown in with the inevitability of this rank movement, including many on the “right.” It was a bad idea in 2006 and it’s a bad idea today: https://proteinwisdom.com/?p=5865
Further update, and thanks!
Because of your generosity, we’re nearly to the point where we can break even every month, and keep our heads above water. Doing a deep dive into our finances, I found that we are paying an astonishing $50K per year out of our gross income on medical expenses for Satch / taxes. In large part, this is because the job my wife took — she manages offices in Dallas and
Update on my last post
Helen and I just spent the morning talking to so credit counselors, and there’s a real chance we may be able to salvage our situation, if Helen’s raise does in fact come through. We initially thought we’d need somewhere in the neighborhood of $36-40K, but with a debt management program cutting some of our payments and interest rates — and the possibility that we could qualify for hardship programs based
