2020 Mock Draft 1 (trades allowed)

  1. CIN – Joe Burrow, QB — lock it in.
  2. WAS – Chase Young, EDGE – Safe pick, great player. Tua is the wild card here.
  3. TRADE – Miami trades up to 3. Jedrick Wills, OT – This is a pick ’em. Andrew Thomas could be the choice here.
  4. NYG – Tristan Wirfs, OT – Again, a pick ’em. Could be Wills or Even Becton.
  5. DET – Jeff Okudah, CB (from Miami) – Lions dither here between Brown, Okudah, and Simmons. But after losing Slay, this makes the most sense.
  6. LAC – Andrew Thomas, OT – The tackles in this class are valued moreso than the remaining QBs, especially with Tua’s injury concerns.
  7. CAR – Derrick Brown, IDL – With Simmons and Henderson still on the board, the Panthers take the beef.
  8. TRADE – TB Bucs trade up. Mekhi Becton, OT – Must protect the Precious.
  9. TRADE – ATL Falcons trade up. CJ Henderson, CB – The Falcons are ecstatic. And so am I, because I don’t want the Broncos to even sniff Henderson.
  10. TRADE – MIA comes back up. Tua Tagovailoa, QB – Injury concerns, sure. But now they have a franchise tackle to protect him.
  11. TRADE – LV Raiders come up one spot. Justin Herbert, QB – BIG gamble here on my part. But seriously. Do we really think Gruden loves Carr?
  12. NYJ – Isaiah Simmons (from LV), ILB/S – How did he EVER fall this far? And why wouldn’t Adam Gase take the Broncos’ phone call? Dick.
  13. SF – Henry Ruggs, WR – Stretches the field which opens up the running game even more. Also, this breaks my heart.
  14. AZ – Javon Kinlaw, IDL (from TB) – Had ATL not traded up for Henderson, they’d have traded up for Kinlaw. Kyler Murray is begging for CeeDee Lamb here. But Vance Joseph wants to keep his job as defensive coordinator.
  15. DEN – Jerry Jeudy, WR – Smooth, good acceleration, great route runner. I’d add a burner later in the draft.
  16. JAX – CeeDee Lamb, WR (from ATL) – Could be the steal of the draft here for the Jags.
  17. DAL – K’Lavon Chaisson, EDGE – They love him. He’s here. Welcome to Jerry’s World.
  18. TRADE – MIN comes up, takes Denzel Mims, WR – Diggs out, Mims in.
  19. LV – Justin Jefferson, WR – A very good chain mover and savvy route runner. With Renfrow already holding down slot, Vegas might have to see if Jefferson and his 4.4 can work outside.
  20. JAX – Xavier McKinney, S – I can see them taking Queen here. Or maybe Fulton. But McKinney’s versatility wins out.
  21. PHI – Patrick Queen, ILB – The usually bold Eagles didn’t trade up for receiver, but look for them to move up early in the 2nd.
  22. MIA – D’Andre Swift, RB (from MIN) – First OT, 2nd QB, First RB. Good job, Dolphins.
  23. NE – Zach Baun, LB – Probably a round 2 talent, but he just seems like a Patriot to me.
  24. NO – Jordan Love, QB – I was going to take a WR here, but when the Saints signed E Sanders… Is Taysom Hill really your QB once Drew Brees hangs ’em up?
  25. MIN – Yetur Gross-Matos, EDGE – Could be a corner here. But I think there’s a sweet spot for CB in the 2nd-3rd round, and the legit EDGE rushers in this draft are…scarce.
  26. CLE – Ezra Cleveland, OT (from MIA) – Has a LOT of athletic upside. But then, so does Garrett Bolles.
  27. SEA – AJ Epenesa, EDGE / IDL – He’s an inside guy. Just seems like a Seattle pick. But don’t sleep on a RB.
  28. BAL – Kenneth Murray, LB – Heat-seeking missile. But I’m not sold on his anticipation. See ball, chase ball. Go!
  29. TEN – Josh Jones, OT – This could be Isaiah Wilson. Jones has better feet.
  30. GB – Brandon Aiyuk, WR – Toolsy, good RAC. And for a few years maybe, a QB that can elevate him.
  31. SF – Jeff Gladney, CB – Physical corner. Look for the Broncos to try to leapfrog KC and take Cesar Ruiz, though.
  32. KC – Kristian Fulton, CB – One of the Chief’s few needs. Fulton was considered a top 10-15 pick just a few months ago, so this is a good get. Also, watch for Ruiz here, or even a JK Dobbins.
