Bush Lied! The Gulf Stream Died!
(does “the” count as a word? If not, than that’s five….)
Well, how original…wonder where they got that theme?
Be sure to check out the comments at IMDB. “It’s all true! We never used to have bad weather, and now look at it!” Jeebus. Don’t these people have grandfathers?
As compared to Emmerich’s Independence Day which would be “The President Can Stop Aliens.”
Dennis Quaid is on Letterman right now.
Letterman starts out by asking him about global warming, and whether there is a history of the event. Dennis Quaid responds by stating that “yes” this happened happened before, about “10,000 years ago”.
Letterman then asks him whether we are currently undergoing such phenomena. Quaid responds by saying “some scientists say that we are speeding up the process, others say that we’re not”.
Then…he follows up with “but most importantly, this is a movie”.
After moving on for approximately 30 seconds, Letterman returns to the subject of global warming with, “well, how did we recover from the last ice age”
Dennis replied (notice, now he’s Dennis) “I think it just slowly melted away.” And then proceeded to explain that “this is, once again, just a movie” and that although people are trying to tie politics into it, that “it’s just a movie.”
Thank God.
No. Wait. Could it be true? An actor with perspective? Say it ain’t so!
Well, that was pretty succinct.
I seem to remember Quaid not being your typical H’wood moonbat. Seemingly a rather sensible guy. May have even said something not horrible about Republicans once. Then again, he’s agreed to star in an Emmerich/Devlin disaster flick. I guess the lead in a $200 million dollar Emmerich/Devlin “disaster” POS was to much of a temptation for him.
