Making More Martyrs in Somalia [Dan Collins]

A U.S. gunship conducted a strike against two suspected al Qaeda operatives in southern Somalia, but it was not known whether the mission was successful, CBS News reported on Monday.

The U.S. Air Force plane, operated by the Special Operations Command, flew from its base in Djibouti to the southern tip of Somalia, where the al Qaeda suspects were believed to have fled from the capital Mogadishu, the U.S. network reported.

A Pentagon spokesman said he had no information on the report.

The al Qaeda operatives, who were not named, included a suspect in the car bomb attacks on the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998, the report said.

God willing.

And since I had brought this up all of 6 minutes before this post, in a comment in a post a day old…where is my h/t??!

    Heh.

I knew JTF Horn of Africa was, um, going to be proactive sooner rather than later.

Jebus lovin’, brown skin hatin’ revere:

Have a couple dozen of these AC-130’s constantly in the air with standing orders that they can’t land until their magazines are empty. Paint ‘em black. Don’t tell anybody. One day they swarm Africa, the next Iraq, Afghanistan for a couple days, “opps – didn’t mean ta hose you Saudi A-rabs”. Spread the “Get some!” around.

Play like it’s a group of renegade cowboys we might have lost control of. Have Tony Snow give Middle East weather reports, “looks like it was raining 25mm depleted uranium shells along the Iraq/Iran border last night. Didn’t see that comin’. Heh.”

A football field of depleted uranium is kind of scary. Especially when it gets that way in about thirty seconds.

If somebody wants to play terrorist, man, let’s play!

You boys have such good kit. Meanwhile, we are apparently buying some unbuilt Airbus variant and Italian armoured vehicles so that Peter Mandelson can go on dining in style in Brussels.

Man, an AC-130 must be a very terrifying siight if you are an Al-Queada dude, if you ever see it.  Even scarier than Ethiopian troops?  Guess we won’t be abnle to ask those pricks
