   It’s really quite remarkable, this news that you post. I was led to believe by a certain small simian like creature (quite bad smelling I might add)that the onl news out of that country was massive civilian casualties, resurgent taliban and breathtaking poverty brought about by the US intervention.

   Perhaps I should spend more time looking at news that reflects the length and breadth of life in a country rather than just regurgitate bits and pieces that suit my narrow minded ideology.

   I’m just thinking out loud, now… <hee>

   The Afghans have problems, they have good things going on, they have neighbors who are interested in meddling in their affairs or making a buck off the place – kind of like a lot of other places in the world…it just happens that they have suffered a lot worse than many other places.  They still have much to do – but it isn’t non-stop war, everywhere either.
