One Aussie cleric drops, another pops up [Karl]

The Lebanese Muslim Association, which runs the main mosque in Sydney's south-west, sent an open letter to Sheikh Taj el Din Al Hilaly—Australia’s senior Muslim cleric— asking him to step aside from his position after it was revealed he had compared some women to uncovered meat during a sermon.  Coincidentally, the sheikh has asked for indefinite leave from his duties at Sydney's Lakemba mosque, after being hospitalized on Monday. Meanwhile, a Melbourne cleric, Sheik Mohammed Omran, reportedly told his flock on Friday that judges discriminate against Muslim rapists. Both clerics are referring to the Sydney gang rapes—a series of gang rape attacks by a group of up to fourteen Lebanese Australian men against white women in 2000.

Related? After being denied admittance to a sold out movie in Cairo, mobs of Egyptian men grabbed all sorts of women—native and foreign, veiled and unveiled—molested them, tried to rip their clothes off and rape them, all in front of the police, who did nothing. (h/t LGF)

    Oh, the poor muslim rapists.

Please let it not be my laptop.

    AAUUUUUUGHHH! Assholesassholesassholesassholes.

  2. lunarpuff says:

Good God, it’s so quiet here at night now.

Aren’t there any lurkers at least? C’mon out and play!

  3. hey, lunarpuff, i got distracted.

  4. lunarpuff says:

Well, maggie, did you feel like breaking things after reading this?

I went easy. Just one Coca-cola “Always Cool” polar bear glass. I wanted to break more, but I do love the polars bears!

I was dashing to get the big Halloween post up for my regular web gig.  And now the bed is calling me.  Which means it’s time to sleep, because it’s not good to be hearing voices like that.  At least not that one.  The others are kinda amusing.

  6. Karl says:

Hey, lunarpuff is still lurking.  Hey, lunarpuff!  Sorry that this posting isn’t a sleep-inducer.

  7. Karl says:

    Anyway, to Zzzz…

  8. um, no, but i’m pretty easy going like that. ;D actually, i couldn’t get any of the links to work. probably just some quirk here.

  9. lunarpuff says:

    Hmmm. Not lurking at all.

And I would think you would be happy this wasn’t a sleep inducer.

    But whatever.

  10. lunarpuff says:

And may you hear better voices as you drift off!

  11. lunarpuff says:

Well, I just received an angry e-mail telling me my original comment seemed to be attacking Karl, not the mad mullahs.

I don’t see that, but if that is how it came across, I truly apologize Karl. I was calling the sheiks assholes, not you.

I wanted to break things because the people saying these things you posted are not living in some repressed Muslim country, but rather a country that has given them more than their homeland. That is why they went there; that is why they stay.

I am very sorry if my comment came across as a personal attack.

You can read the sheikh’s full sermon here. Note his generally overlooked views on Christians:

God does not forgive polytheism, and forgives everything else. These people [ie Christians] said that God took a son, these people said that divinity united with man, and the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and they will see mercy? They will never see it, not him or his father. Not dad or mum. No one will see mercy, of those who believe in polytheism….polytheism is a great injustice….

Those who disbelieve amongst the people of the Book and the polytheists, where will they go? Surfers Paradise? Gold Coast? Where? To the fire of hell. And not part-time, they’ll be in it for eternity. What are these people? The most evil of God’s creation on the face of earth.

And, incidentally, the UK’s Sunday Times reported:

…Sheikh al-Hilali told a media contingent inquiring if he would resign: “After we clean the world of the White House first.”

I fear most, if not all, Muslim preachers are full of this corrosive bile.

In spite of the spin it’s obvious that the Islamists would like to eliminate queers and feminazis. It’s also obvious that the queers and feminazis are against fighting the Islamists. So what is the motivation for both sides? Could it be that neither side cares about anything but POWER, al la Hitler and Stalin?

  14. TheGeezer says:

    This.is.unbelievable.

When P.C. Diversity cannot confront anything except the system that defends it in order to weaken the system that defends it.  When Islamism confronts P.C. Diversity, the latter is doomed.

If Western Civ is to survive, it must ignore the platitudinarians of P.C. Diversity, the ideas of which rise from moral cowardice and cultural exhaustion.  It is a fashion with destructive consequences.

This is incredible.  And Karl, the new blood pressure meds were almost working.

  15. BJTexs says:

    Heh, the “Religion of Peace.”

Where is actus? He says that he has dedicated his life to equality for women and feminist priciples. Where are you, man? For once, how about you step up and, in conjunction with your stated principles, condemn without excuse both of these gender bigots. We have worked so hard in this country to remove the lunacy of attacking the victim and excusing men who can’t control their libidos. What a farce.

I am almost certain that actus’ condemnation will fall short, because he will try and accomodate the culture and religious sensebilities of muslims world wide. I’m reminded of a previous Karl post when Andrew made the statement “If you say you oppose terroism and add a “but”, then you’re not really a moderate muslim.”

Part of my overwhelming frustration with modern liberals is the way that they pick and choose their outrage. There is no gray area when it comes to “choice” or “affirmative action” or “black victmization” or “establishment” but many can’t bring themselves to condemn, without reserve, Jihandists and the very religion that, in many ways, tolerates or explains their actions. They are perfectly willing to consider the idea that “America asked for it” when the nutjobs flew planes into our buildings.

When liberals are willing to declare the same kind of intolerance they hold about abortion rights towards muslim religious extremists then maybe the opportunity for real dialogue might occur. I’m not holding my breath.

So, actus, I’m calling you out. Can you condemn these two clerics and their attitudes without reservation, without a “but” and without changing the subject? I’ll be the first to publically praise you if you do.

Hope, like a delusion, springs eternal.

    – I still lean towards blaming it all on Flockhart…Sitcoms will be the death of all mankind humankind…

    – But seriously, it would appear that the message is “teh wimmins” are an affront to Islam, and the time is nie for the great Muslim brotherhood to rescue their “Essense” from the clutches of the evil Female devils… I think thats proposition “666” on the ballot here in Kalifornia….

    – Could I hear a group “Allah Akbar!”

For the record, I did not think lunarpuff was angry at me.  And the reason I was sorry it wasn’t a sleep inducer was only because it was very late and I didn’t wan’t to think I had gotten someone angry right before bedtime so they couldn’t sleep.  After all, if you’re going to get stirred up so you can’t sleep, there are better emotions than anger. wink
