   Only knuckle dragging conservatives/republicans are “anti-semitic” while right thinking liberal/democrats are “anti-zionists”.

   Anti-semitism was Neville Chamberlain conducting the Munich Conference without Czechoslovak representation. Anti-Zionism is the ClownDisaster conducting the P5+1 talks surrender to Iran without Israeli representation.

   A pre-1948 anti-Zionism would have opposed the creation of any Zionist state, we may suppose, among other things. A post-1948 anti-Zionism takes on another color, for it opposes not something existing only in potentia, but a nation already established.

   It anecdotal I admit but, I never heard anyone criticize Israel who didn’t break into Jewish stereo types. Maybe there is a difference in theory but, not in practice.

    I find it useful to start out with clear definitions and work from there. These, according to Mirriam-Webster:

    Full Definition of ZIONISM:
    an international movement originally for the establishment of a Jewish national or religious community in Palestine and later for the support of modern Israel.

    Full Definition of ANTI-SEMITISM:
    hostility toward or discrimination against Jews as a religious, ethnic, or racial group.

    gahrie, it would also be useful to the discussion to spell “anti-semitism” properly. Yes, I’m a spelling and grammar nazi (oh, probably a bad choice of noun for this discussion), but I do find arguments more persuasive when properly presented.

    So, gahrie’s statement is “That still doesn’t mean that all anti-Zionism(against the support of modern Israel) is anti-semetism (sic) (hostility toward or discrimination against Jews) .”

    If one is against the support of modern Israel, is that then hostility toward Jews? To be answered with another question, “What reason(s) do you have to be non-supportive of Israel that is (are) not hostile to Jews?”
