There is no other explanation for anti-Zionism.

Anti-Zionism is the way the fashionable Left gets to be Nazis.

  2. happyfeet says:

american rapeversities have become hotbeds of jew hate

    (and rape) (lol)

and there’s seemingly nothing we can do about it

  3. […] Click on Protein Wisdom: Fact: Israel-hate is Jew-hate I have said many times tha it is intellectually possible to be opposed to Israel’s policies […]

  4. gahrie says:

I disagree. At one time I was an anti-Zionist, and I have never been anti-semetic.

This argument is actually harmful to Israel. It implies that Israel is beyond criticism because it is a Jewish state, which would confirm what many of its enemies have been saying for sixty years.

I agree that much of what passes for anti-Zionism has a streak of anti-semetism, but not all. There is also the whole developed world/failed world thing going on, as well as honest disagreement with the State of Israel.

  5. McGehee says:

I don’t think legitimate criticism of/disagreement with Israel requires an “-ism” to describe it. If you were calling yourself “anti-Zionist” for those legitimate differences of opinion, you were misapplying the term.

Anti-Zionism means opposing the existence of Israel, an entirely different matter.

  6. Darleen says:

    gahrie

You are free to explain how the BDS movement is NOT anti-Semitic.

Zionism is to Israel what Americanism is to Americans. To condemn Zionism and to condemn no other person’s love of country is to single out Israel as different than any other nation.

It makes Israel the world”s Jew.

That doesn’t mean Jews are beyond criticism or are incapable of doing wrong things; it means outright condemnation of Jews based on their Jewishness.

    anti-Zionism = anti-Jew. Period.

  7. mc4ever59 says:

Personally, I’ve never seen a difference; to be anti-zionist is to be anti-jew.
    As Darleen says,”period”.

  8. LBascom says:

According to Al-Jarida, the Netanyahu government took the decision to strike Iran some time in 2014 soon after Israel had discovered the United States and Iran had been involved in secret talks over Iran’s nuclear program and were about to sign an agreement in that regard behind Israel’s back.

The report claimed that an unnamed Israeli minister who has good ties with the US administration revealed the attack plan to Secretary of State John Kerry, and that Obama then threatened to shoot down the Israeli jets before they could reach their targets in Iran.

I am sickened. There are no words to completely capture my disgust.

At least none that wouldn’t draw the secret service to my door…

  9. happyfeet says:

in all honestly the secret service is probably too busy banging third world whores to pay you no mind

  10. gahrie says:

So, because I once opposed Zionism, I am an anti-semite?

Way to win friends and convince people of the righteousness of your cause.

Sounds like Sharpton calling me a racist because I don’t support his cause.

  11. gahrie says:

By the way, it is also a very Lefty style argument:

You disagree with me, so you are not only wrong, you are evil.

  12. gahrie says:

I wonder if all the ultra-orthodox Jews that oppose Zionism, and even the existence of the nation state of Israel, realize they are anti-semites?

  13. LBascom says:

gahrie, you aren’t being accused of being anti-Semite, you are being corrected on your terms.

    Huge difference.

  14. happyfeet says:

if you’re an anti-semite you have to bring the potato salad

    welcome to America!

please to explore our fabulous rapeversities!

  15. McGehee says:

No one here would deny there are Americans with ten generations or more of family history in the country, who abhor America and wish it didn’t exist.

  16. Darleen says:

What Lee said at 2:02 pm

Gahrie, I invited you to distinguish between legit criticism of Israeli policies/politicians etc and what the BDS crowd is doing.

The latter is anti-Zionism/anti-Semitism, the former is not.

You can blame the Jewhaters for making anti-Zionism indistinguishable from Jewhate, but don’t blame those of us who recognize it as Jewhate.

  17. Darleen says:

btw, ultra-orthodox Jews oppose Israel from a religious objection. They are not looking to annihilate Jews as the BDS crowd & their fellow travelers, from Hamas to ISIS, have as policy.

  18. happyfeet says:

this Israel dealio is gonna need a way better class of ally if it wants to have any hope of surviving

either that or some awesome giant robots

  19. sdferr says:

I am sickened. There are no words to completely capture my disgust.

I feel ya. But still, it’s probably a bogus story which we can read more along the lines of a partially disguised salute from Kuwait (and the other co-operative members of the Gulf Council) to Bibi Netanyahu on the eve of his big speech, as well as a plain ol’ raspberry to the indefensible ClownDisaster.

  20. LBascom says:

I really, really hope you’re right sdferr, but still…I can picture the fuck saying it.

  21. cranky-d says:

I think even Obama knows he would not get away with shooting down Israeli jets. I would not be surprised if he thought about it, though.

  22. mc4ever59 says:

Any pilots refusing such an order could have “refusing an unlawful order” as a defense.

  23. newrouter says:

    >I really, really hope you’re right sdferr, but still…I can picture the fuck saying it.<

there was that red line in syria

  24. gahrie says:

“gahrie, you aren’t being accused of being anti-Semite, you are being corrected on your terms. ”

Yes I am. I was once an anti-Zionist.

And I object just as much as when the Left calls me a racist because I don’t support their identity poltics.

  25. LBascom says:

Gahrie, if I may be so bold, I’d suggest you entertaind anti-Zionist ideas, then rejected them when you realized the implications of following through on those ideas

    I could be wrong,but I don’t think so.

  26. sdferr says:

gahrie hasn’t troubled to detail the substance of his former self-professed anti-Zionism (nor to say even what he thinks a proper anti-Zionism constitutes), nor what his view of Zionism as such is, nor what changed his mind to the extent it did change, etc. It’s hard to see what he’s talking about, to say it another way, so why would anyone be faulted for groping about in the dark, if they even bother? Or another question, why would gahrie proceed in this manner, keeping everyone in the dark without recognizing the emptiness of the propositions he lays down, empty, that is, of definition and distinctions of one sort or another? Kinda pointless, isn’t it, until gahrie fills in the blanks?

Meanwhile, Samantha Power speaks at AIPAC 2015. Recall, she floated the thought that the US could simply invade Israel and force the Palestinian State on our victims? Nothing shines so bright as a “pragmatic” solution to the Jewish problem, eh wot?

  27. geoffb says:

I’d always thought that anti-Zionism wanted to see Israel cease to exist and that antisemitism wanted Jews to cease to exist. One is the fast track to the elimination of all Jews while the other simply returns to the old ways, where the pograms can once more work well as the victims have nowhere else to go.

Here are some who swing both ways at once.

  28. sdferr says:

The Hill: Whip List — 42 Democrats to skip Netanyahu speech to Congress.

This is how we treat our allies. And of this the Democrats and their house organ The Hill appear to be proud — top of the page proud. Strange world.

  29. guinspen says:

Linda McCartney nee Eastman claimed that she wasn’t a groupie, she just liked hanging around with rock bands.

I still can’t figure out if one can be one, without being the other.

    Help me out, Herman!

  30. bgbear says:

Those dems want to make sure they are killed last.

  31. geoffb says:

I still can’t figure out if one can be one, without being the other.

This is determined later, one becomes a Band-wife and the others become a Band-slut groupie. Which they are is not in their own complete control but requires the input of the intentions of the band members too. If both want her to be a Band-wife then she will be that but any disagreement results in her being the default version.

  32. guinspen says:

For the however many Democrats and the rest of them, too:

    There’s a Kind of Putz
