“Obama plan to lift top tax rates would plague millions of small businesses, study warns”

Ernst & Young?  What’s that?

Sounds very white, is all I know.  And racist.  Probably uses white math and patriarchal logic.  Best we dismiss whatever it is out of hand.   So way we can get back to attacking the rich, who simply must be punished, racist studies steeped in white math and misogynistic logic be damned.  For the children.

Forward!

White math? That’s a new one to me, and I like it. I won’t be surprised when I hear it from some grievance group.

Sounds like a bunch of bean counters to me. Sheesh, it’s only money.

Ernst & Young? Probably in cahoots with those unpatriotic bastards at Standard & Poor’s. The Tyranny of Math is so fucking racist.

To paraphrase Ayn Rand, what makes anyone think Obama’s purpose is prosperity?

  5. George Orwell says:

“Under the administration’s proposed tax hike, Americans would see fewer jobs and lower wages,” Brian Reardon, S Corporation Association’s executive director, said in a statement. “The administration’s goal is to tax the rich, but the result of the policies will be to stifle job creation and reduce wages”

Brevity is the soul of wit.

  6. George Orwell says:

The Republican-led House plans to vote later this month to extend the tax cuts for all Americans, setting the stage for a broader tax debate ahead of the elections in November.

I wonder in what thunderingly blockheaded way Boehner will fuck that up. Hey, remember that clever, three-dimensional chess game McConnell dreamed up over the debt crisis? The superdupercommittee? How’s that working out? I seemed to recall being told by the NROpoly that Obama would be blamed widely in the media for any future debt limit increases.

    Good times.

The universe doesn’t much care what fabulists and their sophistry make of white math. (Marx was pretty fuckin’ white by the way…)

Ernst and Young make white math and Ernest and Julio Gallo make white wine. Coincidence? I think not.

An eye-opening new report by the Government Accountability Institute reveals that President Barack Obama averages just eight minutes more a week on economic meetings than the average dog owner spends walking their dog.

And the Prog’s plan to force the raising of those tax rates? Take the economy #OffTheCliff . Patty Murray, Larry O’Donnell, the whole band of merry pranksters has decided to take the masks off and explicitly adopt the position that all hard leftists eventually come to: #TheWorseTheBetter.

  12. George Orwell says:

In 2012, so far Obama has spent just 24 total hours in economic meetings of any kind

Just to be nit-picky: Obama has no plan to lift the top tax rates; he has a plan to do nothing so they will go up by themselves, as planned.

For this thing, I blame Bush.

  14. Slartibartfast says:

Actually, Obama can legitimately say that he had nothing to do with it, if we wind up the year with the tax cuts nonrenewed. And he’d be right.

The key, I think, is to make sure he doesn’t get a second term to gloat over that one.

And Boehner and McConnell went right along with him when they prematurely agreed to an extension of only two years on the tax rates, after the 2010 election victory for the GOP. When the Rethuglicans had Barry over a barrel.

He does have a plan to raise rates — on the rich. Everybody else gets a year’s grace. If we raise rates on the rich. Because, rich.

    Agreed, George.

On the nit-pick, it is an interesting distinction. To make the Washington books appear less rigged, this is the expiration of a temporary tax cut. In practical economic terms, it is a tax hike. Economic memory among actual humans is short. To the 30 year old who has only ever known these tax rates, Jan 1st his $1000 tax bill will go to $1500. If he’s poor. It’s not as bad for the rich, with the 50% increase coming “down” to 13.1%.
