I Tweeted out this story a couple days back, but it bears repeating here: because what should be clear to everyone (and is already clear to his most ardent supporters) is that the Obama campaign will go anywhere, say anything, and manipulate anyone to keep in power its ideologue in chief, its socialist king — who I’m sure by this time is coming to despise the majority of Democrats outside the New Left ruling cabal he’s surrounded himself with, many of whom have woken from a years long stupor and discovered that the healer they championed isn’t the pragmatic centrist Republicans like David Brooks and Peggy Noonan and Kathleen Parker swooned over, but is rather the fascistic would-be dictator and socialist his (largely obscured, purposely ignored) record showed him to be, and whom unhelpful racist conservatives warned against. And even some Democrats like the idea of individual liberty and a government that is at least partially constrained by a stable rule of law — and those folks, though many still claim otherwise — are by their actions suggesting that they can’t wait to put their mistake behind them.
Obama’s personal history is steeped in the politics of leftism — from the Marxism of Frank Davis that he drank in as a young boy to the New Party’s desire to “fundamentally transform” the US into a European-style democratic socialist state headed by a permanent ruling class and run by bureaucracies, themselves headed by leftist activists, largely out of the reach of voters, that he joined up with.
So it makes sense, therefore, that the Obama campaign’s fundraising take place in the salons of Western European socialism — on the 4th of July, just to jam home the symbolism (really, all that for a fucking flag?)– and that it be led by a cabal of bien pensant American celebrities who made their money acting for the very mouthbreathing suburban American dullards they wouldn’t be caught dead around, and whom they’d like to see regulated into the kind of background accessories that won’t cause our betters such social and cultural revulsion.
It’s a perfect fit, this campaign and this venue — and it puts a lie to the supposed dichotomy of out-of-touch Mitt and man-of-the-people Barack while underscoring (and even performing, in a sense) the dreams of transnational progressivism.
Now the question is, will the GOP use such optics to their advantage?
Ah, come on Jeff, give the man a break. I’m sure he will privately take the time to briefly sojourn to Cimetière de Picpus to pay respects to Gilbert du Motier. Yeah, that’s it.

Ha! that reminded me of a couple weeks ago, the news morning show host (a black woman) was talking about some blonde actress that was clubbing and actually said the name of the song, A Nigger In Paris, and her peers were criticizing her for saying the word, instead of “the N word”.
The wise dark woman “journalist” wondered if it wasn’t something the actress could have easily avoided.
