"More mumbo-jumbo from Dems on taxes, stimulus"

Racist:

Washington Democrats constantly demand tax increases because they are addicted to Big Government. How else to account for Obama’s repeated declarations that “we can’t wait” for Congress to pass another $449 billion economic stimulus jobs program, even though the previous one under Obama poured $757 billion down a rat hole without putting a dent in America’s near-depression levels of unemployment. The latest Democratic jobs program would be “paid for” with a surtax on upper-income individuals, most of whom are business owners and entrepreneurs.

But even the Congressional Budget Office is unimpressed with the latest Democratic stimulus program, saying it will have virtually no immediate effect because less than 10 percent of the funds would be spent in the next year. And half the funds would still be unspent by 2015, according to CBO. Such facts didn’t, however, prevent Reid from claiming earlier this week that “millions of jobs” have been lost because Republicans oppose Obama’s proposal.

Reid’s outlandish claim didn’t persuade a coalition representing 1.8 million businesses, including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the National Federation of Independent Businesses, and the National Association of Manufacturers. The coalition told Senate leaders of both parties this week that “the Senate legislation would pay for this new stimulus spending bill by raising tax rates on hundreds of thousands of business owners.” Such an approach amounts to nothing more than “a job killing punitive tax hike,” they said. The business leaders also pointed out that Obama’s “own data demonstrates that four out of five of the taxpayers who will face this surtax are business owners.” Barring a complete GOP collapse, it looks like deadlock till Election Day 2012.

Sure. But that’s just how Obama wants it, so he can run against the “do-nothing” Congress.

Don’t think it will work, but shit, when the record you have to run in is one of economic destruction, you try what you can.

…so he can run against the “do-nothing” Congress.

    Let him.

I know the Presidential election gets all the ink and airtime, but it’s the Congress where we’re going to make the biggest impact. In 2008, they installed the “Do Anything” Congress; in 2010, we countered with the “Do Nothing” Congress. In 2012, we finish off our earlier work by installing the “Undo Everything” Congress.

And there won’t be a damn thing JugEars McDowngrade or Mildred RomneyCare can do about it.

    Obama in Cannes:

“We can solve all our problems, grow our economy, put people back to work and reduce out deficit … it’s just a matter of setting politics aside, and constantly remembering the election is one year away,” he said.

“just a matter of setting politics aside” and “constantly remembering the election is one year away” seem to be somewhat mutually exclusive actions.

But then, I’m not a brilliant Constitutional Law scholar. So what do I know?

    – The sleaze bag MSM lap dogs are dutifully running this as “Republican blockage”. They can’t even be the tiniest bit honest and report their own Democrats that voted against the bill.

    – Well you know, those Dems have to face reelection soon, so they have to distance themselves from the Chocolate Jesus and his Socialist train wreck.

    – But hey, they “added” 80,000 jobs this quarter, and unemployment is “down” to 9%.

    – They add those same 80,000 jobs every year at Christmas time. (temporary seasonal employment)

    – 45.8 million Americans are now collecting food stamps. (An all time high since “the end of the recession” declared by O’fuck in 2009.)

(Cue music – “happy days are here again….”)

There comes a time when you have to tell the crack addict you love, “No more!”. It’s like that with Washington and spending.

I’ve hocked everything I own to give you money(you might say to the crack addict you love). I’ve charged up my credit to an entire years salary. My child’s college fund is depleted, and your nasty habit has lowered property values in the neighborhood. I’ve been forced to take handouts because of your manipulative ways! The more you get, the more you want. I don’t even have control over my own life anymore! NO I say, NO MORE!!

in fact… PAY ME BACK, BITCH!!!

It’s like that with Washington DC. Sometimes you have to be firm.

Mumbo-jumbo, bafflegab, folderal, gobbledygook, fiddle-faddle, claptrap, gibberish —
all incipient synonyms for Keynesian stimulus proposals — or: “We know better than you how to spend your wealth.”

Thanks, Squid. I’ve been trying to come up with something that’s a simple explanation for the non-politicos. That’s puts everything in a nutshell.
