Get on it, people

Go. I command you.

(Or rather, I suggest it. Sorry. Sometimes I forget I’m not a Democratic President or a liberal judge.)

  1. Timstigator says:

I hope this term is catching on: The “Obama Depression“.

  2. happyfeet says:

it this is the Obama Depression now what do we call it after he pulls the trigger on the debt default gun he’s holding to the head of America?

  3. Joe says:

Conservatives need to hold on this spending cap issue the same way they held on Harriot Miers (and got Alito as a result). Hold! Hold! …

  4. JHoward says:

Let him pull that trigger, feets. The right need do nothing and must, in fact, do nothing.

The left owns the economy, the welfare state, and this president. If he defaults, he defaults.

Messaging. When things go very, very wrong, folks quit falling for the incumbent messenger.

  5. happyfeet says:

I tend to agree … a default would be refreshingly honest plus it would a lot define the legacy of this oh so historical presidency

  6. mojo says:

Yeah, I’m sure my hard-core safe-seat Democrap “representative” will be reading that on the edge of her seat – so she can round-file it.

  7. proudvastrightwingconspirator says:

RANDOLPH: “Oh, look Mortimer, the hoi polloi are sending emails now, imploring us to do their bidding regarding this budget kerfluffle.”

MORTIMER: “Randolph, pour me another bourbon, will you old chap? When will that worthless rabble cease their prattling and simply accept the providence of our wisdom?”

RANDOLPH: “Here, here, my good man.”

  8. Joe says:

I do not agree the GOP should do “nothing.” Communicating is not nothing. We need to be really clear that if there is a default, it is Obama’s choice and Obama’s doing. Because there will be mendoucheous man-girls like David Brooks and David Frum saying the opposite.

  9. happyfeet says:

So from Mr. Obama’s perspective, if you’re going to take the pain for a deficit deal anyway, you might as well get real gains along the way. In a phrase Mr. Biden has been using, “There’s no point in dying on a small cross.”*

  10. newrouter says:

the only person who can cause this country to default, with or without a debt ceiling increase, is baracky hussein oblahblah.
put the effin’ ball in his court.

  11. newrouter says:

here’s where baracky’s stimulus money went to:

The Omaha Public Schools used more than $130,000 in federal stimulus dollars to buy each teacher, administrator and staff member a manual on how to become more culturally sensitive. . . .The authors assert that American government and institutions create advantages that “channel wealth and power to white people,” that color-blindness will not end racism and that educators should “take action for social justice.”The book says that teachers should acknowledge historical systemic oppression in schools, including racism, sexism, homophobia and “ableism,” defined by the authors as discrimination or prejudice against people with disabilities. . . .The Omaha school board approved buying 8,000 copies of the book–one for every employee, including members of the custodial staff–in April.

National Soros Radio finds them a real-life conservative to talk about the debt ceiling talks! Tune in to your local National Soros Radio station to hear the bona fide National Soros Radio conservative say:

I think the president’s played it very well. His press conference was a damn masterpiece. When your enemy is tying a noose, leave them alone.

It’s kinda quiet in my retarded blue area, but Freedom Connector looks worth using in places better populated with people who aren’t dreaming.

  14. Pablo says:

His press conference was a damn masterpiece. When your enemy is tying a noose, leave them alone.

Um, you leave them alone by holding a presser about those goddamn evil Republicans and their fat cat friends? I wish people wouldn’t write while they’re asleep.

  15. Sarah Rolph says:

    Done.

    Good form letter.

I added this, spelling it out for my dimwitted, chickenhearted congresscritters*:

“Fiscal responsibility is crucially important. I understand that you are under political pressure and may be disinclined to go out on a limb, but the time has come to take firm action.

We must adopt prudent measures that reward sensible actions in the private sector–decreased taxes, decreased business regulation, increased economic freedom. Only a robust private sector can restore economic growth.

Please take a stand for fiscal responsibility.”

*That goes for you too Scott Brown, I don’t appreciate your politically correct vote for Shared Sacrifice, you squish.
