"The EPA Doesn't Love New York"

Liberals learn what it’s like to be an American business. And it couldn’t happen to a more lovely bunch.

But don’t worry. Once they manage to exempt themselves from the ever-encroaching regulatory state, they’ll be all for its entangling of others. Because that’s who they are.

I hope they fail.

  1. To paraphrase Melvin Udall, when thinking about the government I think of a man and then I take away reason and accountability.

OT: I’d mentioned that my wife and I are going to see the Palin movie Jul 16 in Denver and beforehand we were going to the Yabby Hut for shrimp and crawfish and invited anyone to join us.

I don’t think there were any takers, but just FYI, Yabby Hut is closed for a private party on the 16th!

That’s too bad, Molon Labe. Where are you going to go instead?

Tanya suggests Colt & Gray in Denver for the sticky toffee pudding.

I’d as soon eat a 5lb bag of sugar, frankly. So it’s up in the air.

Don’t knock it ’til you’ve tried it, ML. This time last year, the Lovely Bride and I were sticky toffee pudding-ing our way across London. Didn’t even feel bad about it, given the miles and the staircases we walked every day.

It’s all fun and games until your own ox gets Gored.

The regulations will cost billions, are “truly burdensome” and almost entirely useless, says New York City environmental commissioner Cas Holloway, who wrote a 15-page letter to the EPA explaining what is wrong with its analysis.

this Cas guy seems very interesting he only got the job after princess bloomberg failed to find some bloombergian-type nannywhore to do the job

the New York Times was aghast

But on Monday, after conducting a 13-month international search for a new environmental commissioner, he chose a 36-year-old City Hall aide who has scant experience in the field.

    […]

…his selection left some in the environmental world scratching their heads. “Wow,” said Peggy M. Shepard, executive director of We Act for Environmental Justice and a member of the mayor’s Sustainability Advisory Board. “I am not at all familiar with this person.”

    princess bloomberg

Okay, that’s a good line. One point for good taste, contrary to all prior observations.

I’ve got a friend on facebook to the left of Castro. She posted a link to Mother Jones titled “Kansas to Shut Down All Abortion Clinics Friday”. I posted “The gov is using laws, rules and regulations to interfere with personal freedom? That’s new.” No response from her or any commentators after that. Both her conservative mother and conservative step mother liked my comment though.

I read this story yesterday and laughed and laughed and laughed.
