Just received the following email regarding Libertarian congressional candidate and erstwhile hypnotist/fitness trainer/human rights investigator/polymath/scientific wrestling expert Jake Shannon:
Dear Jeff,
Seems like Jake Shannon irritated with your article about scientific wrestling, he posted jobs on elance and try to hire freelancer to get rid your article from search engine result.
His ID on elance: Jake_Wrestler
His posted job on elance: SEO expert needed to help push down smear-pieces..Hiring freelancer to do negative press is irritating. I don`t like his act, so i report it to you
You should do something to counter his actBest regards
Thanks. And consider it done.
If you read me and have a website of your own, I’d very much encourage you to link back to this post. Shannon’s years-long campaign to destroy scientific wrestling‘s competition by way of scurrilous attacks, character assassination, and outright lies, should not be rewarded simply because the sneaky little prick knows some computer coding, and is flush enough with funds from his latest con to hire an expert to launch some sort of new attack.
Here’s Shannon‘s job listing:
SEO expert needed to help push down smear-pieces..
…in google rankings.
I stood up to a bully blogger, now he is trying to smear and damage my reputation, despite having a business [scientific wrestling] with a stellar reputation.
I need someone with experience pushing unwanted articles to the second or third pages of google’s search effectively (or otherwise getting rid of them).
Thank you!
Kind regards,
Jake Shannon
What I wrote was accurate and completely sourced. That should count for something.
Here’s who took the gig.
Thanks. And happy Thanksgiving, everybody (else)!

update: I’ve been told to be on the lookout for “black hat” stuff happening to the site. Unfortunately, I don’t know what that is, so I don’t know what to look for.
Any ideas?

update 2: Nevermind. Here it is.
Essentially, Shannon paid someone $450 to try to get into my code, place personal info, and then complain to Google (to remove indexing) and have my host shut me down.
It’s a more high tech version of a Google Bomb, I guess.
Alternately, they’ll try to do something to have my site moved down in the rankings.
I told you, this guy is a snake of the worst sort. And now he’s paying someone to make sure you don’t know.
Scruples!
On the plus side, at least he never called me “violent”…
It’s that damn third eye of his. Freaks me out, it does.
It ought to be gratifying the pieces have had some bite into this Shannon creep, at least to the extent he seems to want them to go away.
Jeff, you seem to have more than your share of detractors, which I have too say, I had a few of those myself along the way, and that just set my resolve. I’m a bad actor with wanna-bee’s that try to make a living off some one else’s contrived distress, and get in my way.
– More often than not things did not end well for the detractors.
This guy really is Richard Widmark in Night And The City incarnate.
With bully being the very recent new “racist” you are keeping it right at the bleeding edge. As with the all the racist charges bully also looks to be another word that fits “he that smelt it dealt it”.
I’m sure there’s a death threat in this piece somewhere.
OUTLAW VIOLENCE!™
Sounds like somebody needs to challenge Scientific Jake and his Mace of Power to a couple of very public rounds on the mat. Know what I mean? Then we will see if his Turtle Neck Fu is strong. Worked for Wong Fei Hung and Huo Yuanjia. OK, maybe not so well for Huo Yuanjia, but the other bugger cheated.

Some people are just pricks by nature. This Jake Shannon creep seems to be working very hard to perfect it.
I love those “live messages”!
Jeff … did you ever get more history on Radwan? Last I heard, really, was ages ago. Haven’t had any contacts with the family since our last.
Diana —
Not much more history, but we did find all those Life Mag photos from a story they did on his show at Cleveland stadium in the 40s.
Were the Life Mag photos after the ship’s manifest I found? I still wonder whether it was the right one.
What a fucking prick you are, Jakey.
Yeah. The Life photos we found recently. Lots of great stuff.
Excellent.
Jeff, there’s about 5% of the human race that “Just need killin'”…. and you seem to have attracted more than your share. It’s a gift, I tell you.
Jake Shannon abuses turkeys. It is an abomination.
Black hat and white hat is old hacker terminology (hailing from, I think, old westerns in film).
As you can guess, the bad guys wear the black hats. Malicious hackers (as opposed to benevolent hackers or hackers who observe strip-club rules – ‘just look, no touching’).
Sort of like ‘malware’. The “ware” prefix coming from ‘software’, ‘hardware’, ‘vaporware’, etc. Everytime anyone gets a ‘virus’ they call it a ‘virus’ but most of them are not really virii at all. You can have a virus, a trojan horse, adware, spyware, worms… but these are technical distinctions and the layman term for all of it has become ‘virus’. Except that’s problematic because virus is also used to refer to a specific, technical subtype as well as the whole general lot.
So they come up with ‘malware’ to describe the general group of ‘bad crap you don’t want on your pc’, what a layman would call a virus (whether it be spyware, a trojan, a virus, whatever).
Mal from latin – basically it means “bad-ware”.

Holy mother of doG, what a giant douchebag that guy is. It’s like a purported giant bribing a bunch of midgets to get down on their hands and knees behind you so that he can push you down.
