IAF Bombs More Tunnels [Dan Collins]

IAF planes on Sunday afternoon attacked at least twenty smuggling tunnels along the Philadelphi Corridor, on Gaza’s southern border with Egypt. The tunnels were being used to smuggle weaponry into Gaza, according to the IDF.

The IDF said that it would continue to expand operations against such tunnels along the Corridor.

Earlier Sunday, the IAF said that Hamas operatives tried to shoot down an Israeli plane at the weekend using an anti-aircraft missile.

The IDF has said that Hamas possesses several shoulder-held ground-to-air missiles, and in air raids overnight Saturday, the IAF hit a Gaza mosque in which a number of them were stored.

Jimmy Crater knows they’re defensive tunnels.

Hopefully, the tunnels are filled with Palestinians&Mdash;no burials necessary.

Hopefully, the tunnels are filled with Palestinians—no burials necessary.

    Damn!

  3. Dan Collins says:

    Filled with Hamas, maybe.

  4. SeniorD says:

This fits in very nicely with the overall strategy – start at both ends, meet in the middle and HAMAS can keep whatever is left standing.

  5. Sdferr says:

Olmert hesitates, in fear of moral cretins. Livni may not be much better. Barak either for that matter. This begins to approach an instance of a genuine national tragedy (if a nation can be taken in a metaphorical sense, as a character with a life and mind, no simple transaction in itself).

  6. Blind Howling Moonbat says:

Those were underground kindergardens you redumblican warmongrels.

  7. oh, I thought maybe they were bomb shelters.

  8. er, shelters for bombs. whatever.

  9. SDN says:

Storing missiles in a mosque = actual war crime.
Blowing the shit out of the mosque instead of getting your own troops killed = moonbat war crime.

  10. Spiny Norman says:

    SDN,

The moonbats are pissed that Hamas can’t store their weapons in, or fire them from, places the Israelis can’t touch.

NOT FAIR! NOT FAIR! NOT FAIR!

  11. Log Cabin says:

The regular anti-semites that post here show up to say those tunnels are needed to bring supplies to the poor blockaded Palistinians in

You may find yourself living in a Qassam shack
You may find yourself in another part of the world
You may find yourself behind the wheel of a large ambulance
You may find yourself in a blowndown house, with a war-stressed wife
You may ask yourself; Well…How did I get here?

Letting the days go by/let the Hamas hold you down
Letting the days go by/Hamas flowing underground
Into the shit again/after the Imam’s gone
    Splodydopes lifetime/Hamas flowing underground

Related: I read the other day that Israelis won’t allow journalists into the area in Southern Israel that are being shelled. Is this true? And if it is, why?

The Palis are increasingly ham-handed at it, but, understanding perhaps that they can’t win an actual war, always manage to engage in the PR war fully. I’m just at a loss to understand why the Israelis don’t as well.

  14. parsnip says:

    Haha,

    Bombing tunnels…brilliant.

All on the U.S. taxpayer’s dime.

    Watch out, Mediterranean!

Isn’t Hamas an organization mostly made up of Palestinians? Didn’t the Palestinians vote Hamas to represent them in a democratically elected government?

As soon as the rockets fired into Israel start launching themselves, I’ll not include “Palestinians” in any future statement hoping the destroyed tunnels are occupied with residents of Gaza. I doubt that this makes my previous comment any more acceptable, but if you find it offensive, please feel free to delete it.

Which begs the question; What in the hell is wrong with roads? Unless you’re smuggling something you shouldn’t …………………….Nahhhh.

All I’m saying is that there are Palestinians who are innocent. I feel especially bad for the unwitting human shields.

If it makes you feel better, I promise not to dance in the street joyfully chanting “death to Palestine”, okay?

  19. Sdferr says:

Whether Mossberg500 recognizes the distinction or no, the IDF and Israeli Government does: IDF Spokesperson Blog Jan. 4 2009,

The IDF stresses that the residents of Gaza are not the target of the operation. The Hamas terror organization operates amongst civilians, using them as “human shields.” Hamas is solely responsible for all injury caused to them.

Anyone who assists terror activity by hiding a terrorist or weaponry might be hurt. We call all civilians to keep away from rocket launching grounds

  20. Bob Reed says:

Oh man, Sdferr, that was a sweet song parody lyric; I think I might have hurt myself rolling around the living room floor laughing my arse off!

You know, bombing these tunnels is an idea that we might consider using along the mexican border…

  21. Sdferr says:

Here’s a nice story at Ynet about a Gaza school and all the cool stuff the IDF found in it.

And here’s one at the WaPo about how Iran is doing everything it can to keep the US economy afloat, even in the face of DoJ efforts to prevent their generous spending.

  22. Jeffersonian says:

    #12, that was brilliant.

  23. Sdferr says:

Hamas giving new meaning to the euphemistic phrase “House of Woarship“!

Мне кажется это не совсем точно. На эту тему имеется несколько мнений. И у каждого человека со своим мировоззрением свое мнение.
