More On the Racist Stampeders Who Killed the Wal-Mart Employee [Dan Collins]

A line-cutting dispute among shoppers who waited for hours outside a New York Wal-Mart and those who stayed inside their cars led to the stampede that killed a store worker, Newsday reports.

Nassau police said Wednesday that the conflict among shoppers who remained in their cars and those who waited in the cold weather fostered a “mob mentality” that led to the death last week of 34-year-old Jdimytai Damour, according to the paper.

“A whole lot of people started getting out of their cars and made a beeline for that door,” Nassau Police Lt. Kevin Smith told the paper. “It’s definitely a contributing factor — the mentality of ‘They’re not going to cut in front of me.'”

The guy died trying to shield a pregnant woman from these morons, and, no, I don’t find it funny.

The childish little fucks did this over someone cutting in line? I denounce all of you.

  2. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

    How are you feeling, JD?

  3. Dan Collins says:

    Yeah, JD. How are you?

  4. Carin says:

You guys are on the wrong tack, because it obviously wasn’t the crowd’s fault the man died. I mean, who could you possibly sue? So, instead, the family is suing Wal-mart, the Mall, a realtor company, the security service and possibly even the police and the county.

It’s just a matter of time before Bush makes the cut.

  5. JD says:

I am good, thanks for asking. No longer sick, just quite sore. Plus, my abdomen looks like someone drove over it with a speeding Humvee. I started a new job the week before my damn gall bladder fiasco, so I was playing catch-up and trying to get my feet on the ground with the new company at the same time. All in all, doing quite well. You folks are great people.

Are they really? So everyone except the people that actually killed the person are being sued. Typical.

  7. Bob Reed says:

    That’s right JD,
Just like the gay activists are targeting everyone except the majority of folks who actually voted against gay marriage…

Outraged! victimhood and righteous retribution is soooooooo much easier when you are going after the folks that we have been allowed to hate…

JD, next time you’re back in town, send me an e-mail. I’m glad you got the job. It seems like a nice outfit to work for.

  9. JD says:

    Typical plaintiff bar BS.

  10. JD says:

OI – It is awesome. Giddy like a schoolgirl does not begin to describe how much I love it.

I happen to live in the near vicinity of where this happened. Valley stream NY, is right next to NYC, almost adjacent to Jamaica, Queens. While many of the folks there are decent and law abiding, a disturbinly high number are gangsta wanna-be’s, public assistance royalty, or to put it simply-ghetto.

There are many that would go through the mental gymnastics of trying to justify their outlooks, based on issues of social justice and…fairness…But, I mean, we’re not talking about folks lining up for hours for a scrap of bread; these folks were waiting to buy big-screen TVs, nintendo wii, and other recreational, creature comfort items…

This is an outgrowth of these same folks being told over the last 35 years that, as an outgrowth of their identity group victimhood status, their rights and privilege supercede anyone else’s. And, previously unacceptable social behavior has been mainstreamed, because, you know, it’s their culture

The security guard was no shrinking violet, at 6 foot 5, 270 lbs. He was doing the right thing by trying to shield a pregnant woman from the crushing mob. I am still flabbergasted at how folks could have trampled him; how could you miss such a big guy? Here was a brave man doing the right thing, but where were all of the other men in the crowd? why would no one reach out a hand to help him up..?

These are all the questions I asked out loud as we heard the stiry over the holiday weekend. But they were answered in a word, when the location was identified as “Valley Stream”…

I know that there would be those to say I’m racist for some of these insinuations. But, I ask them what of the character of those who wantonly trampled Jdimytai Damour?

God bless and help the family of Mr. Damour. And may he open the eyes of those who would engage in this kind of bad behavior…

Everyone knows that WallyWorld shoppers are Republicans. The Leftists would not be caught dead in there.

Me, mucho jealous! I’m a democrat! JK. I will never reach that level of desperation. Anyhow, good for you.

Great observation, Bob. And it jibes perfcetly with what is going on in my line of work. I work for a large County Government as a program adimistrator for a social services program. A growing number of our clients are getting more and more brazen. They come right out now and ask for game systems, bikes, and other “luxuries”. LBJ’s “entitlement” society has taken firmly hold. Dems don’t want fairness. They want what others want.

    They want what others have.

This kind of brings me back to what I mentioned last week, and Meya thought she was so clever to repeatedly bring up as if she had caught me in some sort of lynching.

The crowd was black, but it wasn’t the color of their skin that caused them to put selfish consumerism ahead of the safety and welfare of others. As Ric noted, it demonstrates a complete breakdown of society. I don’t know if it’s schools or neighborhoods or racial grievances or poor parenting or what, but I would think that people should be asking themselves why this happened in their community.

  16. Obstreperous Infidel says:

It’s ok. meya, like other well meaning dems, often get culture and race confused. You say ghetto, first thing they think is black. I’d say they’re kind of dumb that way.

  17. Interesting that the family is suing Wal-Mart…They, of course, have the deep pockets. However, my understanding that the deceased was under the supervision of Wal-Mart personnel as a temporary security worker. Essentially, the question that remains is whether the family is even entitled to sue Wal-Mart. New York applies mutual exclusivity on Workers Compensation issues such that the employer cannot be sued in a third party action.

That may explain why the real estate company was sued. They probably have a hold harmless or indemnification aggreement with their tennant (Wal-Mart) such that Wal-Mart, while immune from a direct suit by the family would have to defend and indemnify their landlord. The rest of the defendants are probably just a fishing net being cast to see who will pony up a contribution to avoid the publicity and get out of the suit.

He said police representatives met with retailers throughout the county two weeks before Thanksgiving and made it clear that security and crowd control for the sales was the responsibility of the merchants.

that’s gay. Anytime thousands of people get together and are clearly people what are inadequately socialized I think cops should express something of an interest in what they’re about. Just having a car parked there could have changed the tone a lot significantly. Stupid pussy Long Island cops I think.

  19. SmokeVanThorn says:

“The responsibility of the merchants” means “you need to pay our guys to show up off-duty.”

I’m having a hard time seeing any theory of liability against the landlord. Maybe NY has diiferent rules, but it’s hard to see that the injury in this case was proximately caused by the landlord’s breach of some duty (failure to provide super strong doors?) unless the landlord had responsibility for crowd control in a common area.

  20. happyfeet says:

oh. That’s even worse Mr. Thorn but I bet you’re right.

    about the moonlighting proposition

  22. Sdferr says:

I still can’t quite understand how it happens that the police so botched this investigation. It surely can’t be that it took them more than five minutes or so to arrive on scene. The fellow, though possibly not pronounced dead by that time, was obviously grievously injured. Most of the shoppers who trod on the man and who broke down the door would still have been in the store, making them easy to target for questioning, it would seem.

The police could have closed the store immediately, trapping the miscreants within, no? I mean after all, at the least this was a manslaughter case and possibly worse. And then systematically interview them for names, addresses, role in the mob (placement in the flow of people, etc.). But no, we read days after the event that the police are reviewing cctv in order to identify people. That just doesn’t seem right.
