Didn’t See That Coming [Dan Collins]

Democratic nominee-in-waiting Barack Obama is sharing one his most valuable assets – his top fundraisers – with former rival Hillary Rodham Clinton to help her pay off her debt, the latest effort to heal the wounds of a bruising primary campaign.

Obama on Tuesday asked his finance team to help Clinton pay back at least $10 million from her failed presidential campaign, setting the stage for joint appearances by the two former rivals later in the week.

In a teleconference with his top fundraisers, Obama asked them to do what they could to help Clinton, according to two Democrats familiar with the call. A campaign spokesman confirmed that Obama had asked them to help the former first lady.

And the FISA and mortgage bailout legislation have nothing to do with one another, either.  I mean, BoA reaps the profits, but at least it’s not Big Oil, right?

It’ll take more than a village to pay off $10 Million!

  2. JD says:

Need I point out that you are a racist for pointing this distraction, and that it does nothing to help Michelle keep fresh fruit in their home.

  3. Dan Collins says:

Dude. Have you seen the price of arugula lately?

  4. Pat says:

That is very thoughtful of Barack I think, but is she broke? She doesn’t have a penny to her name? I had to borrow $100 to buy gas for my RV the other day, can I get a little help paying off my loan? That would be very thoughtful too!

  5. TmjUtah says:

He’s buying silence. Not even pretending to expect support.

  6. Dan Collins says:

I hear you, Pat. I mean, I don’t have an RV, but I’m going to post a bleg tonight.

  7. Frank says:

Why would Barrack do this? It has to be in order to use their good will to assist in his election. Will he pick her for a running mate? Not a chance. Barrack is trying to legitimatize an otherwise charade of a campaign designed to elect an imposter. Looking back at the present Bush administration, granted any monkey can be president. But this monkey’s dangerous. It’ll take more than Hillary’s support for him to get my vote, and I’m a big Hillary supporter.

Pat, even George Soros needs $$ to buy gas for his RV! (link to Bush Legacy site – I limit pimps to my blog to only once a day.) Times are HARD.

The bus is coming to Michigan in September. Who wants to go with me to throw eggs at it?

  9. Dan Collins says:

The only reason Hillary doesn’t look like a monkey is her ass is too big.

Never hurts to check that admin queue, m’friend.

  11. Frank says:

Dan, your sharp wit is reminiscent of my elementary schoolyard days. Your post is documentary evidence of the IQ of the average Hillary hater.

  12. Education Guy says:

Criticism of Hillary = teh stupid

  13. CArin -BONC says:

OH yea, Frank?… well, your momma’s so fat when she sits around the house, she sit a-r-o-u-n-d the house, ifyouknowwhatImeanandIthinkthatyoudo.

  14. MarkD says:

Why doesn’t she write another book? Maybe look to serve on some committees which regulate banking or finance. Possibly a zero interest, zero payment mortgage is available from somebody in return for making their problem go away. Airbus is looking to keep the Air Force tanker program it just won. Maybe she should check her freezer – I’ve never found cash in mine, but I’m not a politician.

Do I have to solve all the problems around here? I’ve got a check engine light on my car and a daughter with a computer virus. Take a number.

  15. Squid says:

I’ll have you know that Dan is far from average. It’s good of you to protect Hillary from his name-calling, though. You’re truly a model of chivalry, and don’t at all come across as a preening twit. Nope, not at all.

  16. Roboc says:

Maybe she needs to start a television ministry preaching “Womens Liberation Theology”.

  17. Dan Collins says:

Whereas calling Bush and Barack monkeys is hilarious, insightful and edgy.

Well, Frank. I think you need to check your sense of humor. I think it’s down by at least a quart.

  19. Enough says:

When will they stop begging for money? Its getting sickening to watch the wealthy beg only for selfish causes!!!!

  20. Annie says:

Hillary totally mismanaged her money. Why should all of us hardworking folks help pay her debts. If my contribution to Obama’s campaign is going to her then he can forget my donation. If she had dropped out when she knew she didn’t have a chance of winning she would have saved a lot of money. Her ego got in the way and now she wants everyone to help her out. No way

  21. JD says:

It gives me great pleasure to know that Baracky will be spending Annie’s money by paying off Hillary.

  22. Gina says:

Has anybody actully investigated the origin of Obama’s hundreds of millions of dollars? We are told that it’s coming from individual’s small donations via the internet, but how do we know it’s not origianally coming from radical sources, or even from overseas interests?

  23. JD says:

I think George Soros is using the gleeeeens and all of their sock puppets to make sock puppet donations in excess of available contribution limits.

  24. Gina says:

How many of the 1.5 people who sent $200 to Obama’s campaign were black? Is it possible that a group which comprises about 15% of the population in America could rule the other 85% simply by buying the election via contributions from 1.5 million people, in a country of 300 million people?
