The Los Angeles Times on Monday retracted a story that linked hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs to the 1994 shooting of rapper Tupac Shakur, admitting that the report relied on fake FBI documents. The move came three weeks after the paper’s Web site carried a lengthy story by Pulitzer Prize-winner Chuck Philips, who said that associates of Combs had arranged the assault on Shakur because they were angry that he

Andrew Sullivan, just as excitable offline [Karl]
Excitable Andy has been on vacation from his blog, but appeared with Christopher Hitchens on The Tim Russert Show on Saturday. At about 2:30 into the linked video, Sully enthuses about the likely presidential contest between John McCain and Barack Obama: To be honest this whole election has been draining, amazing and fun. There is less buzz about the fact that Penn’s firm will continue to provide polling and advice to the campaign. Call it the third way of political firing. As opposed to the actual firing Penn’s firm got from Columbia. It
This Pretty Much Sums It Up (CraigC)
Yep, that’s about it. Although, since Hillary is The Smartest Woman In the World, shouldn’t she be Moe? And shouldn’t Obama be Larry? Because, you know, Negroes have curly hair. Shamelessly stolen from Hot Air.

Anybody know how to capture video from a DVD? I’m trying to break some instructionals into clips, but I have no idea how to get the video into the editing software. I’m using a Mac Dual G5 and Final Cut Express HD.
