During his school break from his studies in Germany, my son Brendan flew to Oman to visit his uncle in Muscat. He was there for the cyclone that struck, but flew out tonight. Some of the photos in his album are of the mountains, but others depict the devastation visited by the cyclone, which was the first in the Persian Gulf in living memory. Just lucky, I guess.
