Faggate Reaches the HuffPo [Dan Collins]

Dennis Perrin thinks he’s got a handle on this.

Faggot. It’s the new blasphemy. Faggot killing? Notsomuch.

    Can we still use knobgobbler?

  2. RiverC says:

Dan, you are a Genius. A mad, mad Genius, but one nonetheless.

  3. so, do all lefties have a relative that complains about them “coming over here to fuck us in the ass”? or is everyone just quoting this guy? my brain is fried….too many expense reports…..

  4. JD says:

Perrin is a rectal ram rod .

Dan, Congrats. You must have hit a nerve. They have trotted your FAGGOT out all over the internet, and judging by the number and tenacity of the trolls, your analysis cut a little close to the quick.

Now, if Blue Texan would take his hairy nut sack off of Chuck’s chin, maybe Gleens could have a go at it for him.

  5. Shawn says:

    fuh-gah-tay?

  6. guinsPen says:

America is filled with people like Dan Collins, some of whom may be in your own families.

BECAUSE OF THE CHECK FOR UNUSUALLY LARGE SEED-PODS IN YOUR BASEMENT, PEOPLE !!!

  7. I DON’T HAVE A BASEMENT!!! WHERE ELSE COULD THEY HIDE?

  8. mishu says:

Maybe if you just string up a few of these turd burglars, you could redeem yourself. Perhaps you could get an honorary doctorate.

  9. guinsPen says:

    TEH GREENHOUSE !!!

  10. JD says:

Dan – Watch out. The Rainbow Warriors will be out to get you now. Just think of the GLBT protests in your front yard. With Jeff Gordon leading the way, flanked by all 8 of the Gleeeeeens on the Left, and Sully on the Right.

  11. I don’t have one of those either! I’M SCREWED! hopefully in a completely not gay way. NTTAWWT.

  12. lee says:

Ms. Greenwald might be onto something.

Just because a few thousand men, women and children were slaughtered on 9/11 doesn’t mean we need to worry about the increasingly volatile islamic world.

What are ya, a bunch of women?

Heaven knows Greenwald has no use for more of those…

  13. JD says:

Maggie – There is nothing wrong with lesbians. Nothing. Unless they look like Rosie.

  14. happyfeet says:

Dennis didn’t really read what you said very carefully. He has his own point to make about how he’s better than the other people in his family, and something about his college years, and how he doesn’t like Glenn but he has to defend him cause of the “assault.”

He also has a tiny little rifle.

Point being, it’s all about Dennis. Who? Dennis. And liberals. And how they’re more better, but mostly for all the things they aren’t, not really for what they are for, like, you know, “dialoguing” with people who hang gay kids. And not being so judgey about thems over there when there’s people over here far more worthy of liberal opprobrium.

What’s saddest though is how he has to defend poor little Glenn. That’s paternalistic and condescending, really, unless you realize that his interest goes no further than exploiting a handy opportunity to invent some homophobia with which to smear conservatives.

Gay people and their delightfully refined sensitivities are very very useful for this Dennis, but I don’t think he really gives a shit about them. In the world of Dennis, gays exist for the sole purpose of being abused by “trogs,” and ever it shall be. Inshallah.

No can do. I’m busy keeping an eye out for the running man.

Goodness knows Greenwald doesn’t need more of those…

  18. psychologizer says:

    Okay, stupid question —

    Where’s Dan’s ass-rape talk?

I do see Perrin’s weird proxy threat — rhetorically indistinguishable from the racist fantasies of proxy rape that feminists and Chris Hansen groupies are so fond of throwing around re: accused criminals — that maybe one of you faggots cheerful fellows might ought to turn Dan’s butthole out, because this fear he supposedly has really means he’s asking for it, or at least that he needs it, so…

    From Dan, no such.

(I am aware of the pointed pointlessness of this pointful point.)

  19. AAAAEEEEEEEIIIIIIII!!!!!!!

though perhaps he has a point. I love how Dan is all things Rethuglican. He’s gonna have to wrassle Rush for that one I’m guessing. again, NTTAWWT.

  20. JD says:

Thanks for that mental picture, Maggie. I flahed to a scene of Dan and Rush in pastel singlets, jello wrestling.

  21. happyfeet says:

It’s all very confusing really, but it’s cool that Dan’s a Rock Star.

  22. be careful with the jello, most of it is haram. we don’t need more peoples mad at us. ;D

  23. thor says:

Glenn Greenwald is a fag? Sucks Cock? Enters other men through the rectum? Licks his boyfriend’s mouth?

Earning the fag label ain’t easy if you ask me. Or maybe it’s that I lack ambition because being hetero takes all my energy. At the end of the day I’m just too worn out to be a fag. Besides, I’d have get the OK from my wife to be a fag and she’s not cool like that. “How do you have time for Fantasy Football?” “Have you seen the tile in the bathroom?” “Are you ever going to fix it?” “The light bulb in the refrigerator is burned out!” “How come you avoid talking about plans for our future?” “The vacuum cleaner filter needs to be emptied!” “What’s more important, me or that book you’re reading?” Being hetero is my limit.

  24. happyfeet says:

They told me marriage was a give and take
Well you’ve shown me you can take
you’ve got some givin’ to do

  25. happyfeet says:

    It’s anthemic.

  26. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

Jeezus Christ, they shoulda left Zambrano in.

  27. MayBee says:

If you are really lucky, Dan, you can get Mike Stark to come after you. Or man, it would really square the circle if Russ Feingold read a condemnation of you on the floor of the Senate.

  28. Karl says:

    Ladies and gents, the Lemonheads.

  29. JD says:

    I love the Cubs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  30. JD says:

Dan – I think you should aim for Larry Johnson next.

  31. JD says:

Caric is now calling us the Dominatrix Right. Every week, a new nickname for us. It is hard to keep track of all of them.

  32. oh, and let me guess… he’s been a very bad boy.

  33. JD says:

Darleen – I think he must envision himself dressed up like that freak in Pulp Fiction, laying a huge studded paddle onto some Conservative asses, or some other disgusing thought. Personally, I would think that the leather and latex would not react well with his greasy hair, gut, and overall dopey look.

  34. markwilliams says:

Finally, a right-wing blogger who says what he honestly thinks. It’s no wonder your attracted to Greenwald, he was one of the first left-wing bloggers who did the same thing. I hope that Townhall, Redstate and Ace of Spades are watching. They need to forget the bullshit and say what they really think.

  35. happyfeet says:

That’s just kind of a dopey thing to say. It’s like comic book dialog. What’s embarrassing is you seem to think someone would mistake that for an honest sentiment.

  36. Synova says:

Uh… which right-wing bloggers aren’t willing to say that there is something morally wrong with preferring a battle over the word faggot when homosexuals in Islamic countries are facing real persecution and death?

Ah, we blaspheme and insult. Bad us. They hang gay youths until dead. Oh, well, that’s just… them. And they aren’t so bad. They haven’t even issued a fatwa for Michelle Malkin and that’s about as tolerant as it’s possible to be, Lord knows. Obvious proof that it’s just silly to go on about the suppression of speech and human rights under Islam.

Ignore the homosexuals on the gallows. Someone on a right-wing blog just used the word faggot.

  37. Synova says:

And watch out for the winger-cooties. Human rights has been hijacked by the right-wing. Bastards!

  38. Synova says:

You know… I figured it out. We all know that black people are allowed to use the N-word and a whole bunch of other offensive words that no one else can use.

All it actually takes to get permission to use the F-word is to actually, for real, be on the side of homosexuals.

The F-word, therefore, is still off-limits to those who have other priorities, such as avoiding winger-cooties, when it comes to focusing on the biggest and realest threat to homosexuals in the world today.

Once you figure out the rules this is easy.

  39. Mcgruder says:

Im a fan Dan, of both your work here and JG’s. But you screwed up with the whole “faggot” thing. I get that JG turned the linguistic construct thing on its ass and shoved it up theirs, but–at best–you were leading with your chin. I take the larger point but you knew they wouldnt; its like a Glenn Greenwald bid for traffic. The next step below this is yelling “nigger” on a subway in the hopes of highliting some broader point about hijacked racial discourse.

    Youre too good for this.

  40. Sean M. says:

Ignore the homosexuals on the gallows. Someone on a right-wing blog just used the word faggot.

I’m pretty sure that was Dan’s point, Mcgruder. The word is, apparently, worse than the deed.

  41. Sounds like steam escaping.

  42. Dan Collins says:

    Mcgruder,
I can understand how you feel that way, but I think it’s worthwhile, even if I gotta screw the pooch, to point out what jackasses Gleen and people like him are.

    Howsabout ‘chutney ferret’?

The Cubs will lose the second game by even a larger margin.

  44. Enoch_Root says:

Dan – to think someone like Dan Collins could be in my very own family! Ahhhh… the pride!

  45. Dan Collins says:

They need to forget the bullshit and say what they really think.

Really, markwilliams? Because usually you all aren’t so interested. You already know what we think or are saying, no matter what we think or say. I’ll tell you what. That Greenwald’s such a breath of fresh air. He ought to just come right out and say it: domestic political squabbles and PC-point scoring are more important than trivial shit like denouncing murderous dictator wannabes who ignore the warnings of the world bodies that we would like to see supplant US unilateralism, even though they don’t seem to be able to do anything about Darfur or Rwanda or the execution of homosexuals in Iran. That stuff is just a distraction.

On the other hand, John Cole, who believes that all eyes ought to be turned to The Mess That Is Iraq, is willing enough to bend the knee before this gilded ass. For Collins, he has blasphemed.

  46. Enoch_Root says:

Dan – where is NOW on Iran or Iraq? where is the gay outrage over guy with Miani Vice suit? It’s amazing to me that the opportunity cost of failing to make a big deal out of the plight of women and gays is trivial to them, while trying to “correct” you for pointing out their hypocrisy on the matter is worthwhile. Truly baffling.

  47. andy says:

Is someone in management going to nudge you into dropping this by telling you that your beef sounds dangerously close to critiquing a homosexual for “straying off the plantation?” And maybe even enlighten you that, no matter how stupid that beef is, it is even stupider when in fact the person has done no such thing?

  48. RiverC says:

andy: That sounds just downright faggoty stupid.

Man, I’ll bet the gay porn sites are going to be ruined because of us. Long live Protein Wisdom!

  49. RiverC says:

Hmm, days like this, I wonder which XHTML tags are valid in comment forms.

I guess not the del tag.

  50. Dan Collins says:

Is someone in management going to nudge you into dropping this by telling you that your beef sounds dangerously close to critiquing a homosexual for “straying off the plantation?”

What plantation do you have to stray off of to advocate for human rights? Why is this such a big deal to YOU, andy?

  51. Mr B says:

Got anything black and white left that we can throw at him Andy?

  52. andy says:

“Ignore the homosexuals on the gallows. Someone on a right-wing blog just used the word faggot.”

Its like being pulled over and asking the officer if they don’t have some real criminals to catch.

  53. Slartibartfast says:

Who is the police, in this scenario? And who’s committed some sort of moving violation analogue?

  54. Dan Collins says:

Yeah. Gotta make your quota, huh, andy?

  55. Slartibartfast says:

Otherwise, the comparison between “some real criminals” and actual hanging of actual homosexuals just isn’t very well done.

  56. Slartibartfast says:

It’d probably spark some sort of faux outrage in the libertarian, formerly staunch Republican blogs if it had been said by Dan.

  57. andy says:

“What plantation do you have to stray off of to advocate for human rights?”

You got it backwards. You think Glenn is wrong for failing to advocate for human rights to your satisfaction.

“Why is this such a big deal to YOU, andy?”

Its so amusing to watch all the “not getting it” going on all sides here. Its helped along by the fact that your point — stripped of “faggot” and any psychosexual whatnots — is ridiculous. Which makes it hard for people to get it. And even then, you’re not doing a good job of communicating it.

  58. andy says:

“Who is the police, in this scenario? And who’s committed some sort of moving violation analogue?”

Its a specific example of hte general idea: “why are you harping on X when there is Y, something much worse going on.” Sometimes with a nudge (“faggot”) that you should be specially concerned about this much worse thing.

And your problem is when this is stripped of all the hooplah about psychosexual faggot hypermasculine whatnot thats coming your way, its a stupid argument that doesn’t work.

  59. Slartibartfast says:

Its a specific example of hte general idea: “why are you harping on X when there is Y, something much worse going on.” Sometimes with a nudge (”faggot”) that you should be specially concerned about this much worse thing.

Who’s making that argument, besides the little voice in your head?

And your problem is when this is stripped of all the hooplah about psychosexual faggot hypermasculine whatnot thats coming your way, its a stupid argument that doesn’t work.

It’s not my argument, so problem solved!

  60. Dan Collins says:

all the hooplah about psychosexual faggot hypermasculine whatnot

    A) Who are the Fantasticks generating that? B) Isn’t that Gleen’s argument you’re talking about?

  61. Slartibartfast says:

I’m guessing that andy’s wrestling his own demons, here. Most people tend to stay in the closet, as it were, where personal-demon-wrestling is concerned, but andy appears to be inclined to exhibitionism in that regard.

  62. brian says:

andy – That’s some industrial grade stupid you’ve got going on there.

In your example, the cop is not likely to have taken the side of the murderer over that uf the un-belted driver.

The point that has completely and utterly missed Glenn(s) and their sycophants is very simply this: How can you take the side of Ahmadinejad over Bush, when Ahmadinejad would kill you for simply existing?

Call me crazy, but I don’t recall Bush lining up the cast of Queer Eye to be thrown off a building.

  63. Dan Collins says:

Gleen’s argument is that the wingers are casting themselves as victims to justify their lust for military aggression, which is a psychosexual disfunction, as is proved by someone’s well-documented book. We fantastically overstate the danger of the sect of Islam prone (it is true) to these nasty behaviors. Meanwhile, of course, there are Muslims seriously advocating in the UK for local imposition of Shari’a, and representatives seriously inclined to give it a go.

Why should we care? Why should we pretend it affects us? Why not give them footbaths at public institutions? I mean, it’s not as though they want to display a cross or say Under God in the Pledge, or anything. Well, we should care on grounds of basic humanity. Poor Gleen, so wounded by the blasphemy of the word “faggot.” Poor andy, trying to defend such a person.

  64. andy says:

“A) Who are the Fantasticks generating that”

People that aren’t used to hearing y’all talk.

    “B) Isn’t that Gleen’s argument you’re talking about?”

I read glenn’s argument to be that people are overreacting and misrepresenting the muslim threat to speech here.

  65. andy says:

“How can you take the side of Ahmadinejad over Bush, when Ahmadinejad would kill you for simply existing?”

And my point is that this is a ridiculous understanding of and response to what Glenn said.

  66. Pablo says:

He’s gonna have to wrassle Rush for that one I’m guessing. again, NTTAWWT.

So, does this mean that Rush wants to be ass fucked by a big swarthy brown jihadi? NTTAWWT? Because that would be a revelation. And Wes Clark would probably go through his Rolodex and find one.

  67. Dan Collins says:

And you swallow the psychosexual gobbledygook he wraps that up in?

  68. Slartibartfast says:

And my point is that this is a ridiculous understanding of and response to what Glenn said.

Ah. Well, then you should make that point, andy, instead of tippy-toeing around it. I await your point-making with some enthusiasm, given your to-date lack of point.

  69. BJTexs says:

Which makes it hard for people to get it. And even then, you’re not doing a good job of communicating it.

Andy, don’t hold Dan responsible for you and others not getting it. I have relatives, loved and honored, who are gay and I immediately understood what Dan was saying. The fact that it’s provocative and jarring doesn’t mean that it doesn’t work on a couple of levels, both in intention of language and hypocrisy of view.

This whole kerfuffle has served to highlite the degradation of free speech in this country. As the intellectual level of political discourse continues to decay into sound bites and “gotcha” moments what’s inevitably lost is clarity of analysis. By inflating and dictating the meaning of certain words we can’t avoid making it harder to express real thoughts and and render real understanding.

Yes, andy, it’s about blowing up the word to Met blimp size while ignoring the point. I probably wouldn’t have done it the way Dan did and, I admit, I cringed a little when I saw the title. But I got the message and, in fact, the title focused the point. All of those who have come screaming to the table in fungible outrage missed the opportunity to debate the central theme of the original post, choosing instead to polish their holier-than-thou hate speech bona fides whilst broad brushing the entire right wing as true haters.

Yup, andy, you are correct. Neither you, nor them, after a billion back and forths, get it. I suspect that most of you never will.

  70. Patrick Chester says:

    I wasn’t expecting a sort of Transnational Progressive Inquisition…

  71. Slartibartfast says:

And of course by make that point, I’m not talking about reasserting it ad nauseam. I mean actually making it with some support.

With most people, I wouldn’t think to follow up this kind of clarification. Andy, though, seems to need it.

  72. Pablo says:

All of those who have come screaming to the table in fungible outrage missed the opportunity to debate the central theme of the original post, choosing instead to polish their holier-than-thou hate speech bona fides whilst broad brushing the entire right wing as true haters.

I’ll submit that rather than missing the opportunity to debate the central point they’ve taken the opportunity to avoid debating the central point.

Because, LOOK! HE SAID “FAGGOT”. So we really don’t have time to discuss the actual lynching of faggots due to the OUTRAGE we’re currently experiencing.

  73. N. O'Brain says:

So it’s about the reactionary left’s OCD with appearance rather than reality.

  74. BJTexs says:

    Pablo:

Upon reflection, you are correct. Most of the trolls came here in complete lockstep with The Glens’ conclusions so teh outrage hate speech was the only thing of interest. Looking back, Scott was the only one who even made an attempt to address the central point in addition to the use of the word. The progs render themselves more and more like the cultural Spanish Inquisition, declaring
!BLASPHEMY! at the first sign of brittle language.

As you have pointed out, most are either silent or complicit in the gay themed name calling for Gannon, Craig or Sanchez.

    Hypocrisy: The other white meat!

  75. Dan Collins says:

He opened the door to this when he tried to bring in the concept of proportionality. His POV is demented. There are victims, and there are Victims. There is civil law, and there is shari’a. Dumbasses like Gleen apparently think that wingnuts oughtn’t worry about what doesn’t affect them directly. Where that places his arguments about the erosion of civil liberties doesn’t seem to occur to him. Some comedian has a Muslim riff on YouTube? It can’t be that big a thing. How many people do you know, Gleen, who’ve been thrown into jail as a result of “domestic spying”? Nobody? Get over it.

  76. RiverC says:

It would be like a policeman pulling you over to tell you he doesn’t like your bumper stickers. You: “Don’t you have CRIMES to deal with? Or something?”

I mean, come on. It seems to be implicitly understood by progs that this is a crime. It’s not. A hate crime is a crime that was motivated by hate. Speech is, except in situations of inciting violence purposefully, not a crime. Therefore, any use of racial slurs in and of itself is not a crime.

The implication is of course that stuff like this is a hate crime – using words like faggot, nigger, and so on. It is not. A hate crime is burning black churches; dragging homosexuals out the back of a car. Those are hate crimes, This is free speech. By your rules it is whomever is in power that determines what is acceptable speech; which means that if you lost power somehow – your speech would immediately be censored. Of course, you’d feel justified, victimized, or… whatever. All those emotions seem so mixed up for you guys.

I would think that inner city blacks’ incorporation of ‘nigger’ as ‘nigga’ in their common speech would be indicative of the fact that they don’t need your godd*mned speech codes. They defy you to control what they say. Juvenile, perhaps, but coddling makes kids stay kids. That’s what the boomers, by in large, wanted, though, right? To stay young?

    Guess they get it.

  77. wishbone says:

Yawn. Someone wake me when the left begins making sense.

A good “till the sun goes dark” nap sounds really good right about now.

  78. Challeron says:

NOBODY expects the Transnational Progressive Inquisition!!

(Okay, somebody had to do it….)

  79. Pablo says:

How many people do you know, Gleen, who’ve been thrown into jail as a result of “domestic spying”?

Right. The set of victims of TEH SHREDDING OF TEH CONSTITUTION™ he’s so concerned with consists of Padilla, Hamdi and their brethren. Almost 7 years into the Bu$hitler administration, and still no gulags. Still no jackbooted thugs gathering up progressives for excercising their Gaia given right to sedition dissent.

It would all be almost paradise if not for people who keep publishing blasphemous cartoons and saying “faggot”.

  80. wishbone says:

    “Still no jackbooted thugs…”

Chimpy just doesn’t have the hang of this dictator thing. Next to THE MESS THAT IS IRAQ, his NON-STOP ATTEMPTS TO SHRED THE CONSTITUTION, and ILLEGAL WITHDRAWAL FROM KYOTO, I’d say it’s his greatest failing.

Meanwhile the Iranian regime continues to kill gays.
    The UN dawdles about everything.
The thugs in Burma really ARE jackbooted thugs.
And Wes Clark is babbling incoherently all over the place again.

Yes, Dan Collins, you are truly the definition of evil. I think I’d go with the classic red cape and pitchfork. What idiots these lefties be.

  81. Big Bang (Pumping you up) says:

Still no jackbooted thugs gathering up progressives for excercising their Gaia given right to sedition dissent.

    – Ah but they will not be lulled into any sort of confort from that fact, because they just know whats coming.

    – Its patently obvious to the most objective observer that the Left, in particular the sorts of personalities that gravitate toward this intense form of denial, are simply OCD driven, will not listen, cannot listen, and so are left to desperatly argue to maintain what they see as armeggedon if they can’t continue denying and controlling the narrative.

    – Heres my take on the “why” they do it.

They don’t want to face the real dangers because the Jihadists are some serious crazy motherfuckers that will kill without hesitation, true fanatics that are even more OCD than the Lefts worst nutbag. Between having to face that sort of real threat they would have to actual risk their asses, they choose the oh so much safer game of word play and distraction with the Right, the worst of whom, the far Right evangelistic zealots, are not likely to harm anyone.

    – Its that simple, or that complicated, whichever you please.

    – But what it also is, is a waste of anyones time trying to convince anyone of the tin-hats that you’re onto them and their PC games, because they wouldn’t be what they are if anyone had ever been able to make them look in the mirror.

    – So as the body count rises around the world, they talk about vast right wing conspiracies and ignore the real threat of Islamofacism, all the while denying that the only “conspiracy” is the one they practice, substituting totured logic “truthiness” for the truth.

    – I simply do not take them serious any more, beyong making sure every time they try to run their “appearences over substance” scams and assorted Marxist BS ploys they get their asses kicked immediately.

    – The watch word is “don’t encourage them”. It only leads to even worse behavior.

  82. Damn, it’s true. The pinheads of the right have suddenly decided that homosexuality is worth fighting before, because Iran is viciously antihomosexual, and they’re the Enemy of the Week. In exactly the same way as the Taliban’s oppression of women suddenly became Doubleplusungood (when it hadn’t been, the week before) when Dubya decided he wanted to attack Afghanistan. Does this mean that it would have been okay to bomb the US — an officially antihomosexual aggressive power with WMDs before the godless Supreme Court overturned our sodomy laws? Are you ready to put Pat Robertson and the Pope and Bush himself in chains for their thoughtcrime against Homo-Americans?

Say “faggot” all you like, faggot. But 1) avoid the coy striking-out; it only shows what a dweeb you are; and 2) got any links to posts in which you denounced antigay bigotry on the American right?

  83. Oops — I meant “fighting for,” not “fighting before.” But let it be. I’m right behind ya, Danny Boy! Here comes Old One Eye!

  84. Big Bang (Pumping you up) says:

    – Read #80, then reconsole that sort of anxiety driven nonsense, and Anti-American Leftist bullshit, by simply asking the questions: “How many Gays have been executed in America? How many women have been stoned to death for the crime of being raped? Where in the world are these sorts of murders practiced by theocratic rule and law?”

    – Doesn’t take rocket science to “spot the confused”, except its not really confusion, its “choice”. Safe choice.

  85. BJTexs says:

The watch word is “don’t encourage them”. It only leads to even worse behavior.

Aaaaaaaand … like clockwork comes TPR, strawman and broad brush in hand, soiling the carpet.

    Like Nostradamus you are!

  86. maggie katzen says:

we were executing women and homosexuals!?

  87. wishbone says:

“an officially antihomosexual aggressive power with WMDs”

“Are you ready to put Pat Robertson and the Pope and Bush himself in chains for their thoughtcrime against Homo-Americans?”

I’d like to thank the Promiscuous Reader for these fine examples of genuine lefty gibberish.

    As for this:

“got any links to posts in which you denounced antigay bigotry on the American right?”

Search around the site, genius, and you will see every possible hue of opinion on the gay marriage issue. Me? I’m for it.

However, you are going to have to define the bigotry thing a little better. One of the themes you’ll see at Protein Wisdom is the general uneasiness over what those on the left perceive and define as “hate speech.” Eaxample: Those who wear eye patches might just take your last post the wrong way. And that would be a crime. Just ask Dan.

Say “faggot” all you like, faggot. But 1) avoid the coy striking-out; it only shows what a dweeb you are; and 2) got any links to posts in which you denounced antigay bigotry on the American right?

    Faggot.

    No.

  90. BJTexs says:

In exactly the same way as the Taliban’s oppression of women suddenly became Doubleplusungood (when it hadn’t been, the week before) when Dubya decided he wanted to attack Afghanistan.

It would be fair to say that practically nobody was interested in the deplorable condition of women in Afghanistan under the Taliban. The fact that the blowing up of the Buddhist statues generated more world wide outrage is a stain on the entire world, left or right. A year before 9/11 I met with a missionary who was throwm out of Afghanistan and he educated us on those wretched conditions. Thus I was heavily involved, along with my church, in trying to raise awareness about the way the Taliban was reworking “feminism.”

We got plenty of help from other Christian organizations (both left and right leaning) but precious little from mainstream Republicans or any Feminist or progressive organizations like NOW or any Democratic affiliated womens’ group.

So, TPR, heal thyself and please take take your chattering broad brush and slap yourself and any of your other friends who were not working as hard as I, evangelical conservative Republican, to proclaim the horrid conditions of Afghan women.

And, BTW, present me with a petition calling for the UN and all democratic nations to condemn those theocracies that routinely jail and/or execute gays and I’d push to the front of the line to sign it. So would the vast majority of the commentators here. So put up or go play with the other drooling imbeciles at firemuttpuddle.

Leave the important issues to the grownups.

  91. thor says:

What can I say, everyone is gay.

    (Bang!)

What’s left of my face hurts.

  92. wishbone says:

I forgot this and BJ highlighted it, and I just can’t let it go.

“when Dubya decided he wanted to attack Afghanistan”

Completely out of the clear blue, you understand. Just woke up one day and said, “Let’s invade…oh heck, Afghanistan.”

  93. Big Bang (Pumping you up) says:

    – From which we are left to deduce that BushChimpy’s real conspiracy all along was to use WMD’s on the Gays of Iran.

    – Oh. Wait. There are no Gays in Iran. My bad.

  94. BJTexs says:

Completely out of the clear blue, you understand. Just woke up one day and said, “Let’s invade…oh heck, Afghanistan.”

BECAUSE OF THE OIL … um … HALLIBURTON … um … PIPELINE … hm … BLANKET ‘THUGLICAN BU$HITLER IMPERIALISM!!!!!

“Today is a good day to crush Afghanistan for no particular reason. TALLYHO!!”

    Better than fiction, it is…

  95. PCachu says:

Sadly, Challeron, at this point everybody expects the Transnational Progressive Inquisition. We’re even actively disappointed when it fails to show up.

  96. BJTexs says:

PCachu: As to the disappointment part; meh! Speak for yourself…

  97. JD says:

They just never quit, do they. Clowns like TPR must have no shame, no internal filter to keep themselves from making public asses of themselves.

  98. Big Bang (Pumping you up) says:

    – You know, if we didn’t have the nitwit misfits of the batshit commune, we’d be forced to invent them. They make the absolute perfect anti-pasto to common sense, decency, and reality.

  99. daleyrocks says:

It’s that community-based reality thing. It’s members live in a bubble in which news and informations is so severely twisted, filtered, and mangled by the time it reaches the hive it has no resemblance to reality. The hive then forces the information through its own frappe cycle and voila – new reality, new definitions, up is down, strength is weakness, appeasement is toughness. God bless America.

  100. JD says:

wishbone and BJ – I completely missed that nugget of wisdom, as it was all wrapped up in the steaming horse dung posing as a comment.

Yup, good ole W. Just woke up one morning and thought, there must be some brown people somewhere I can kill today. How about the Taliban?

  101. JD says:

    Surrender = victory.

  102. BJTexs says:

Stinking stone age mountanous desert hole = Verdant opportunity for economic imperialism and the killing of teh brown people.

    HOLLA!

  103. daleyrocks says:

The troops really want to hear Randi Rhodes on AFN not Rush Limbaugh.

  104. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

daleyrocks: It’s that community-based reality thing.

I highly recommend The True Believer by Eric Hoffer, if you haven’t had the pleasure of reading it before.

  105. JD says:

Let’s just use these few threads as a microcosm of Leftist dogma. There are almost a thousand comments generated, stimulated primarily at the Lefties great fauxtrage over a blunt literary instrument faggot . The use of a word truly gets them exercised. Yet the idea that another, rather than use the word faggot, would simply stone or hang faggots, generates little in the way of outrage. Why? I do not understand. I truly would like to. Truly.

  106. wishbone says:

“The troops really want to hear Randi Rhodes on AFN not Rush Limbaugh.”

As I pointed out in another thread: Olbermann is on AFN News every day.

Conclusion: That Wes Clark wanted to start World War III over a useless airfield in Kosovo was not a judgment aberration. The man is yet another of the willfully intellectually dishonest class.

  107. Obsterperous Infidel says:

Wow, each day they get dumber. Comment #80 is the dumbest comment not made by actus/andy I have ever seen. Yes, Iran is the enemy of the week (that’s only one of the outrageously stupid statements). We haven’t been concerned about them for, oh I don’t know the last 28 years. Fucking unbelievable how stupid and unserious these people have become. Their sole purpose in life, it seems, is to try to find “gotcha” moments against their real enemies. Anybody right of Noam Chomsky.

  108. Obsterperous Infidel says:

Oh, I also love how the creature from #80 conflates a leader of a RELIGION, the Pope, with heads of State. They just don’t fucking understand. Their ignorance is, quite frankly, sickening.

  109. Andrew says:

Technically, the pope is a head of state. VC’s population is smaller than that of the mid-size university I went to, but technically…

  110. BJTexs says:

Lastly, you have to love a guy who wanders onto the site, spews a load of combative, badly thought through crap, leaves his link and, if one should happen to visit, one learns that it has no mechanism for commenting!

“Free speech is only free for ME!” I laugh and then I weep…

  111. Dan Collins says:

How many divisions of Swiss Guard and Knights Templar?

  112. BJTexs says:

Ha! NOBODY EXPECTS THE KNIGHTS TEMPLAR!

  113. Andrew says:

You think the Knights Templar were destroyed? That’s what they WANT you to think…BLACKWATER, ANYONE? STOOPID WINGERS!

  114. Mikey NTH says:

I guess it’s time for this:

    Everyone has AIDS!
    AIDS AIDS AIDS!
AIDS AIDS AIDS AIDS AIDS AIDS!
    Everyone has AIDS!

And so this is the end of our story
And everyone is dead from AIDS
It took from me my best friend
    My only true pal
My only bright star (he died of AIDS)

Well I’m gonna march on Washington
Lead the fight and charge the brigades
There’s a hero inside of all of us
I’ll make them see everyone has AIDS

    My father (AIDS!)
    My sister (AIDS!)
My uncle and my cousin and her best friend (AIDS AIDS AIDS!)
    The gays and the straights
And the white and the spades

    Everyone has AIDS!
My grandma and my dog ‘ol blue (AIDS AIDS AIDS)
The pope has got it and so do you (AIDS AIDS AIDS AIDS AIDS)
C’mon everybody we got quilting to do (AIDS AIDS AIDS AIDS AIDS)
We gotta break down these baricades, everyone has
    AIDS! x 20

  115. Mikey NTH says:

We now return you to our regularly scheduled broadcast of “LeftWing Douchebags Rant at Protein Wisdom.”

  116. Challeron says:

JD, the reason they don’t complain about what happens to gays in the ME is the same reason as to why nothing was said about what happened over the Mo-Toons: “Those nasty Brown People might hurt me.”

Y’know: They’re all big and brave when it comes to anonymously insulting Mr. Moms, but anything that might actually affect their own assholes, well….

  117. JD says:

challeron – I understand that sentiment, but there has to be something more there. Why is it that their domestic political opponents seem to be a far greater threat to them than actual terrorists? Why do they refuse to take the actual words of our real enemies seriously? It seems they are more consumed with bastardizing the English language to score some cheap political gotcha points than actually governing, or defending America. Did the 2000 elections really just drive them over the edge, or is it that they feel comfortable enough, given the media cover, to actually bring this lunacy into the public square?

    Not fuckers

  118. Obstreperous Infidel says:

JD, it may really be as simple as that the vast majority of them are abject pussies. Either that, or they are just so unbelevably ignorant of the jihadi raison d’etret that they fail to take them seriously. I can’t see another option.

  119. Synova says:

    “I can’t see another option.”

    Multiculturalism.

Okay, maybe the rest of it AND multiculturalism. It’s not just that only domestic elements are fair game but that only domestic elements of the majority sub-culture (ie. white christians) are fair game. It’s wrong to criticize other cultures within our country and even more wrong to criticize cultures outside of our country.

Add a bit of reflexive equivalence and we end up with #80 wondering how anyone can justify getting upset about gay youths hanged in Iran until dead or upset about stoning rape victims until dead or upset about a genocidal tyrant who might have WMDs when here IN OUR VERY OWN COUNTRY we haven’t yet let gay couples marry and people were rude to Anita Hill and we’ve got a big scary military with WMDs of our own.

  120. Synova says:

    Obviously the same.

  121. Obstreperous Infidel says:

Yeah, synova, my second point (cultural ignorance) was kind of including the whole multi-culti stuff. But as usual, you said it better than I did.

  122. Matt, Esq. says:

    WTF is a thoughtcrime ????

  123. Big Bang (Pumping you up) says:

    – Lounge Lizard Larry, the “Not Ghey” Senator, has now announced he will be the “Not resigned, Not Ghey Senator”, just in time to make sure the fall session of Congress has something to do since the war is no longer a minable issue for the Democrats.

    – In the mean time, who is running the ship of state? (Other than ChimpyMcBush, but hes found a new hobby giving political advice to the Democratic Presidential campaign candidates lately, so he doesn’t count.)

  124. JD says:

Matt – It is what happens when the Left reads something like what Dan wrote, contorts his word(s) to mean something that he specifically did not intend, and then they accuse him of doing/saying something that he never said.

  125. JD says:

Or, it appears to be a thoughtcrime for a black man to be conservative.

  126. Mikey NTH says:

“Dumbasses like Gleen apparently think that wingnuts oughtn’t worry about what doesn’t affect them directly.”

“No man is an island, entire of itself
every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main
if a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were,
as well as if a manor of thy friends or of thine own were
any man’s death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind
and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls
    it tolls for thee.”

“First they came for the Jews
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the Communists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a trade unionist.
    Then they came for me
and there was no one left
    to speak out for me.”

Why we should be concerned about the words and deeds of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

  127. Big Bang (Pumping you up) says:

    – Yet another sign that the Cult of the Left is really the Religion of the left, parralleling deranged prudish Victorian English rule of its mentaly weak subjects, their “queens” enjoying cabana boyz beneath their skirts, while dispensing public condemnation of the filthy, impure thoughts of the Other. Mey be why they sort of like the “off with their heads” approach to Gayness, and public stonings of raped women, by their Jihadist brutha’s

  128. Big Bang (Pumping you up) says:

    – Thats it!!!!!111one!!!

    – The Left has gotten so anal about controlling the narrative, repleat with Jackboot thought police, they’ve finally achieved the level of modern day “Victorian Prudists”.

    – Isn’t tha why we left England in the first place?

    – Maybe the next great Conservative crusade should be to work for the seperation of Left and State.

  129. McGehee says:

    – The Left has gotten so anal about controlling the narrative, repleat with Jackboot thought police, they’ve finally achieved the level of modern day “Victorian Prudists”.

    – Isn’t tha why we left England in the first place?

    Uhhhh, Victorian…?

    Forget it, he’s rolling.

  130. andy says:

“How many people do you know, Gleen, who’ve been thrown into jail as a result of “domestic spying”? Nobody? Get over it.”

Glenn knows they’re working on making sure people get over it and don’t get punished:

[N]o action shall lie or be maintained in any court, and no penalty, sanction, or other form of remedy or relief shall be imposed by any court or any other body, against any person for the alleged provision to an element of the intelligence community of any information (including records or other information pertaining to a customer), facilities, or any other form of assistance, during the period of time beginning on September 11, 2001, and ending on the date that is the effective date of this Act, in connection with any alleged classified communications intelligence activity that the Attorney General or a designee of the Attorney General certifies, in a manner consistent with the protection of State secrets, is, was, would be, or would have been intended to protect the United States from a terrorist attack.

  131. Dan Collins says:

I’m sorry. You’re not answering my question. Does Gleen know anyone who’s suffered harm as a result of domestic spying?

  132. Obstreperous Infidel says:

    My Lord! It is actus!

  133. Pablo says:

Leave it to actus to swerve around the point and into a crowd of innocent bystanders.

  134. andy says:

“Does Gleen know anyone who’s suffered harm as a result of domestic spying?”

People are trying to prove harms in the amount of billions of dollars. Attempts to stop them so far are claims of state secrets privilege and these l attempts to provide retroactive immunity to laws which make the illegal interception of communications a crime with civil damages.

If you’re interested in finding out about the harms your best bet is probably helping out this case.

  135. happyfeet says:

Or we could wait until it’s Hillary that’s spying on everybody and go from there.

  136. andy says:

“Or we could wait until it’s Hillary that’s spying on everybody and go from there.”

The case will probably continue into the next administration — if there is no immunity. There’s a lot of money and questions of law involved.

  137. wishbone says:

“Attempts to stop them so far are claims of state secrets privilege”
Claims, you understand. Because we should have no secrets. Especially dealing with strategies and tactics to thwart terrorists who would gladly snuff each of the “plaintiffs” into a cloud of Star Trek transporter glitter.

I knew that I would regret coming over here to see what dumbshit thing andy had on the launch pad today.

I will now stage a one-man production of “Equus” in which I blind myself with a metal spike. While neighing in pain throughout the process, of course.

  138. andy says:

“Claims, you understand. Because we should have no secrets.”

I understand the claims. I just don’t think they should absolve wrongdoing. Do realize thought that claims of state secrets to private litigation is not a creation of Congress. Its something invented by the courts. The court begins the discussion of state secrets on page 6, and issues its findings starting on page 18.

  139. happyfeet says:

REM should do a song about this.
