The truth, it lies nekkid and prostrate!

Quickly, now! Somebody get it a towel or something before Whitey starts lashin’ at it with a bullwhip…!

  1. Dan Collins says:

    So pale. Shudder.

  2. B Moe says:

Is Jill really asking why there aren’t more black people and women in television news rooms? When is the last time she saw a damn TV?

  3. JD says:

Some of these Leftists have to intentionally be so dense. It cannot be an accident that it happens so consistently.

  4. The Monster says:

Prof. West actually said ‘prostate’, not ‘prostrate’. In forcing his words to fit the Dead White Guy narrative (in which ‘prostate’ is a gland, but ‘prostrate’ is a position), you’re diminishing its authenticity. Next you’ll be spelling ‘aks’ as ‘ask’ or something.

  5. First, this is just an embarassing display of ignorance cloaking itself in a legitmate discussion. What is it about liberal black academics that feel the need to insert as many “big words” as possible into a sentence? It sounds absurd and doesn’t make you look intelligent.

Second, the rapper asks what he is suppose to tell his kids? How about not using the F word repeatedly and the S word on national TV? Be a role model first to your kids on common decency. Then explain to them that life isn’t fair. Then be fair and inform them not only about the racism that still exists in society, but the enormous and almost miraculous strides that the black community have made in the last 40 years.

  6. Jon says:

RWS: C’mon, its HBO… use of the f’bomb is mandatory…

that said, what you said. :)

  7. B Moe says:

“Second, the rapper asks what he is suppose to tell his kids?”

It is going to be tough trying to explain to them how oppressed they are riding in limo’s from their gated mansion to their exclusive private schools. Especially if you are marginally literate and somehow managed to become a rich and famous lyricist. I mean, give a brother a break.

  8. B Moe says:

I seem to have picked up a stray apostrophe, anybody missing one?

  9. TODD says:

  10. OHNOES says:

Shit, there it is! Ive been looking for it for ages! Youre the best!

  11. From the comments at Feministe:

“I expected Mos, who appears to me to have suffered some kind of nervous breakdown recently, to be way more off mark than he was on Maher. I thought he rocked.

I also agree that it was the best Maher I’ve seen, mostly because there was no conservative voice and so it was a complex and enlightened argument between three people with varying degrees of liberal views.”

    Yeah right.

  12. BJTexs says:

    Yea, Canada!

Let’s save that particular ode to lockstep for the next time some troll comes barreling into this blog to accuse us all singing from the same song sheet.

Progressive means: Progressively more agreement and less debate.

  13. B Moe says:

“it was a complex and enlightened argument”

They think that was an argument? No wonder those folks think I am the Spawn of Satan, lol.

  14. The Ouroboros says:

Willy Wonka: Mr Def, Uh, you really shouldn’t mumble, because I can’t understand a word you’re saying… MUMBLER!

  15. The Ouroboros says:

In a world full of intelligent and articulate black people why does the Left, the supposed guardians of all things anti-racist, insist upon using people like Mos Def as talking point guests? The man is the caricature of uneducated black youth in da hood (even if he did manage to finally get out the words ‘electoral college’)… Isn’t presenting him as an authority on the voting process pretty demeaning to black people in general and not so subtle form of racism in itself? You don’t see them asking Jethro Bowdeen or Britney Spears for their recommendations from the white perspective.

  16. RDub says:

Disclaimer: I could feel myself getting dumber the longer I watched this, so I didn’t make it through more than a couple minutes.

Just so we’re clear: voting is so important, so crucial to those who find themselves “othered” in this country…yet the fact that it may be mildly inconvenient to get to the polling place is enough to turn them off the process entirely? How I long for the day when black Americans leave the plantation and actually vote in their own self-interest.

And if you eliminate the electoral college, that will allow the right people to get into office? That’d be news to Bill Clinton, who never won a majority of the popular vote.

  17. psychologizer says:

Ah, the challenging perspectives of a millionaire minstrel to the white “upper middle” class. So rare.

  18. Sticky B says:

Those two bruthas make me proud to be an American.

  19. Let’s be clear, eliminating the electoral college basically means getting rid of one of the last remaining vestiges of federalism to replace it with one set of ideas, led by one party, for the people, or the children, or something.

Fifty little governmental hothouses generating competing ideas of government and solutions to the challenging problems of the day in a competitive environment, where we can pick and choose from the best ideas and discard the worst. States. Bleh. Who needs ’em?

  20. Sean M. says:

I was thinking of the same thing while he was demanding a Thursday-Monday “voting weekend” because it’s just soooooooo goddamned hard to get to a polling place. Ever heard of an absentee ballot, jackass?

Oh, and before the perfesser or somebody like him shows up to lecture me about stolen elections and long lines in inner-city precincts, tell me which party runs the show on election day in those areas? Thought so.

  21. McGehee says:

I was thinking of the same thing while he was demanding a Thursday-Monday “voting weekend” because it’s just soooooooo goddamned hard to get to a polling place.

People would get to the goddamned polling place if they were handing out free 40s for showing up.

    (Caric-generated racist assumption about who drinks 40s in 5, 4, 3, 2,…)

  22. Obstreperous Infidel says:

Mos Def is one dumb mother fucker. That’s truly all that needs to be said. Mos Def and Cornel West? I’d rather listen to John McWhorter, Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, etc…No, not because they’re black, but because they aren’t dumb mother fuckers like Mos Def.

  23. happyfeet says:

Who’s the cat that won’t cop out

    When there’s danger all about?

    BARACK!

    You dig? Shit is whack.

  24. Carin says:

Actually, when he was talking about the electoral college, I got pretty fired up… but then he said so much other stupid stuff, it seemed idiotic to actually try to argue against any of his points.

As for long lines, and voting; at my polling location – Detroit’s own Finney High – the joint is usually so empty, you can walk up and vote w/o a wait. My smallish neighborhood is the only precinct at that location that gets a line. In 2004 I had to wait about 90 minutes. As did, the other people in line- who, amazing enough waited along with me. Apparently, if something is important, it’s worth the wait.

  25. Carin says:

But- Barack is an attractive man. Apparently that is important.

  26. Jeffersonian says:

What’s clarificious to this melaninally prostate individuality is no one can deviate – mentalorously – from the pollonic normality without the infusional gestation of the white power modality, dig?

    When there’s danger all about?

    BARACK!

    You dig? Shit is whack.

You see this cat Barack is one bad mother…
    (Shut your mouth!)
    But I’m talkin’ about Barack
    (Then we can dig it…)

  28. happyfeet says:

I decry the brazen blaxploitation. Peace out foo.

  29. B Moe says:

I can’t help but get depressed when folks like Jill who supposedly have read the Federalist Papers give ignorant shitheads like this fucker any kind of credibility. Yeah, Mos Def’s argument about the electoral college really stood up against James Madison? What chance do we have if this is the kind of shit going down in law schools today?

  30. Jeffersonian says:

And let’s remember that Mr. Prostate was a University Professor at Hahvid, the cream of the intellectual crop. What was it that Buckley said about the first 2,000 names in the Boston phone book?

  31. Porgy says:

“It is going to be tough trying to explain to them how oppressed they are riding in limo’s from their gated mansion to their exclusive private schools.”

It be last year’s model limo, buckra! No justice, no peace!

  32. Darleen says:

Good god, Cornell West looked … and sounded .. like Huggy Bear’s special needs brother.

There is no reason for him to talk like that except a racist one.

  33. geoffb says:

My question is, why the allusion to Marat/Sade in the title of the post? Did the Maher show resemble the French Revolution or the Asylum of Charenton any more than usual?

  34. Major John says:

    geoffb,

Good point – I think I’ll vote it was a bit more Asylumy than usual.

  35. McGehee says:

I thought Buckra was an evil stag on the “Thundercats” cartoon show.

  36. PEACE BE UPON HIM says:

McKaffir – You use of words like buckra, pig, bacon, and impure women is a privilege you will not longer be able to exercise once the proud caliphate return to its splendor You will be in line behind all of those Dhimmicrats who extole our multiculturalisms while practicing and tolerating such outrageous activities. Little do they know that they will be at the front of the line.

  37. McGehee says:

You use of … impure women is a privilege

No, no. It’s a chore. I’m tellin’ ya, night and day, day and night, always the same damn thing. BOOOOOOORINNNGGGG!

But a man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do.
