I’m not sure the third underscore really captures the essence the way you think it does, Jeff.

  2. N. O'Brain says:

Hmmm, and to think that all this time I thought it was by Salvador Dally.

  4. Pablo says:

I think it’s exactly how DaVinci would have done it if he’d had an IBM Selectric typesetting machine. Or, you know, MS Word.

  10. JD says:

Dali’s interpretation of that would look similar, just with more melting clocks, and misshaped figures.

I am no art critic, by any stretch of the imagination, but I have never understood the appeal of the Mona Lisa. Anybody care to take a stab at it, and explain why it is so revered? Or is it simply famous because of its name?

  13. DuchampW says:

Jd, I guess you never saw her descending a staircase…

Dammit, Jeff. I just spent 5 minutes staring at 8 underscores and a parentheses, or at least the right half of the parentheses, making sure that I was not missing something.

Jeff, I’m glad you finally felt able to share a small part of your tribulations with us hangers-on out here. Kinda like gawkers doing 10 MPH passing a freeway accident, but I admit to a certain morbid curiosity to know when she’s forced to take that job on the fry-line.

Oh, and Mona Lisa? Smirky is absolutely right.

  50. Mr. Boo says:

Zelda, I suspect it wise to assume about a fourth of the PW commentariat is flirting with you on any given day, myself included.
