Well, if by “Heaven,” one means “in the mystical ether of cyberspace.” Which, let’s face it, were the Good Book written today — or were Neal Stephenson God — that’s where Heaven would be.

Thanks so much Jeff. Julie and Scott will be thrilled! I’m just leaving for the wedding now. It’s in Center Point Indiana, near Terre Haute, which is about a two hour drive. The wedding is supposed to be outside, so everybody cross your fingers it stops raining at 6:30 Eastern.
Fingers crossed. But on the bright side, if it doesn’t stop raining, then can always serve hot wings and have a "bridesmaid wet t-shirt contest."
Very hip in Vegas these days, I understand.
Scott’s been cooking!
ooooh, that will go well with the cat box cake.
What about Neal Cassidy?
I have seen where the wolf has slept by the silver stream.I can tell by the mark he left you were in his dream.Ah child of countless trees, ah child of boundless seas. What are you, what are you meant to be? Speaks his name for you were born to me,Born to me, Cassidy.Lost now on the country miles in his Cadillac.I can tell by the way you smile he is rolling back.Come wash the nighttime clean, come grow the scorched ground green.Blow the horn, tap the tambourine.Close the gap on the dark years in between. You and me, Cassidy.Quick beats in an icy heart, catch colt draws a coffin cart,There he goes and now here she starts, hear her cry.Flight of the seabirds,Scattered like lost words,Wheel to the storm and fly.Fare thee well now, let your life proceed by its own design.Nothing to tell now, let the words be yours, Im done with mine.Fare thee well now, let your life proceed by its own design.Nothing to tell now, let the words be yours, Im done with mine.
If Neal Stephenson were God the Good Book would be 157, 000 pages…
Hey now – don’t mess with my man Neal. I’d hate to have to go all Shaftoe on you… heh.
So, Jeff, are you thinking a good book as something along the lines of the Book in the Diamond Age, or a trilogy like the Baroque series?
I’ve more read Neal Stephenson than King James. And liked it better and quoted it more. In fact, the bible is overrated– character development is spotty, the narrative thread is difficult to follow, and thematically, it’s a mess.

Thanks, Jeff. For this to happen, it took a long string of dominoes to fall just right. The string, of course, started here. I owe you a swimming pool full of Guinness.
Uh, just give me a few days notice if you’re ever headed to Phoenix, so I can start tapping kegs.
