oatmeal: “LeBron over Kobe?! Jesus — are you ever lucky my religious upbringing forbids me from cracking you over your dumbass skull with a stainless steel serving ladle, is all I have to say.”

Isiah would have beaten either one of them because he had heart, something Bryant and James lack in spades. Neither Kobe nor LeBron has ever experienced any adversity in their careers. They’ve had life handed to them on a platter since the first time some coach saw they had game and neither seems to understand that basketball is a team sport.
No one today compares favorably to the past greats. Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Dr. J, Pistol Pete, and a host of earlier, perhaps even better players. Pro basketball today is a shell of its’ former self.
Dwade? HA! Moops, you’re wrong even on the un-important aspects of life. We’ll see how great D Wade once his 7′ 320lb crutch retires. A nice player, but not on the Kobe or Lebron level. For NOW Kobe is the best player in basketball. But that is changing. James will be the best by the end of next year. I’ll take 6 years younger and a HELL of a better teammate over Kobe any day of the week, though.
And CochinoMarrano? Come on. That sounds like "the good old days" speech. James is the ONE player that has game like those older players. He can do it all. He scores. He passes. He rebounds. He is truly a reluctant scorer. He is a pass first superstar. Those are un heard of now and days. If he had a better surroundng cast, he would average a double/double plus his usual 7 assists a game. A truly throw back player. I notice your list was missing Oscar Robertson. Now, if you don’t like his personal style, well then, whatever. But as a basketball player, he has it all.
BTW, Bozoer Rebbe, how does James have no heart? Sounds like a disappointed Piston’s fan to me. Sorry, James killed youguys, but ya just have to live with it.
Don’t forget Bill Russell. If Jordan’s number 1, Russ is number 1 1/2. 11 championships in 13 seasons. The epitome of team play. BTW, undefeated two-time NCAA Champs Jr & Sr years in college.
Hey–wasn’t he in Escape from LA?
Has Lebron cheated on his wife yet?
Dwade.

Maybe you should have said “lack in hearts.” I expect Digby will be here soon. Digby, Rubbaballoon.
Kobe needs to go to Philly, the Rocket needs to go home, and Junior needs to stay right where he is.
LaBron seems able to contain his ego somewhat and convey a smidgeon of humility occasionally when a camera is in his face. Kobe…….not so much.
Dan(#1)– I heard Kobe was dead…
