Here’s a kerfuffle for you.
I’m not going to connect the dots, because I haven’t done so for myself yet, but regarding Steve Gillard, Smantix at Six Meat Buffet had a few not very kind words here.
Somehow, this led to this, the resignation of a blogger from a local ABC affiliate, on whom Jesus’ General had sicced his little nasties, for her not having defended him.
I suppose that I shouldn’t think that’s funny, but alas! I do! Does that make Jeff a bad man?
Res ipsa loquitur only functions if you assume a modicum of integrity.

“You may want to (I know you probably won’t) note that a lot of the vitriol got directed at Gilbert, right or wrong, after she linked and excerpted a mean dig at the recently deceased Steve Gilliard… But I know you’ve got an agenda and a cause to push and all.”
First of all, I’m not sure Oliver could be more of a dick, but I’m sure he’ll keep trying to reach perfection.

I only had a few exchanges with Gilliard. I disrespected him for how he handled those (viz., by banning me and deleting my remarks), but it wouldn’t have occurred to me to go off on him after he had just died like the guy at Six Meat Buffet did. It’s just a matter of personal taste.
Anyhow, there’s a shelf-life to that, too, since what we write is pretty much all that’s left of us —and it is essentially dishonest to perpetrate as though the mere fact of our deaths should change what we intended or how we should be interpreted.

Dan, there are no dots to connect. It’s simply that for the last few weeks pretty much everybody even remoting connected to the media or politics has been suffering from a subdural crapotoma.
Oh, nothing too exciting. Just some back-and-forth, behind-the-scenes jockeying for hate comments.
So much so that we hired some consultants to bring in a highly-diverse focus group to try and find the racism in Smantix’ original post. They were unable to do so.
But they did find a lot of fattism. So the lard lads should be quite angry at us, though we haven’t heard much from them officially.
Smantix is lucky he doesn’t live in NYC. That’s all I can say.
Oliver “articulate is a racist term” Willis, who is paid by Media Matters, which is either directly or indirectly funded by Soros, has the temerity to accuse a socially liberal conservative of pushing an agenda ?

Just about any old hosting service provides those preinstalled. If I remember right, you guys are running ExpressionEngine for this blog, which has the same requirements. So… whatever hosting setup you’re using here would work just fine for MediaWiki.
MediaWiki is pretty easy to set up—essentially you just have to create a new database (same as for most blogs), upload the PHP files to your server, and visit the installation URL. Full instructions here.

Naturally, Donut Boy wanted to explain the lefty hatred to the professor. Y’know, just like there was an explanation when Willis was making racially insensitive comments about Michelle Malkin (here, here, and here, to name a few), not to mention his calling Paul Wolfowitz “filthy.†The only difference here is that it’s intra-Left hatred.
I love that he threw in “right or wrong” before shifting into the presumption that Reynolds wouldn’t want to know about it because of his “agenda.” You would have thought that working for Soros would have sharpened his weaseling skills… but sadly, no.

3) Brittney links a number of comments about steve’s death, including Samtix’s.
4) Jesus General was a friend of Steve and doesn’t like Smtix’s comment.
5) Jesus General then sics his feces flingers on Brittney and drives her off the net.
6) Jesus General does not say anything to Samtix.
7) Jesus General has purged one of his own for showing insufficient fervor towards the partyline as determined by himself while his actual enemy is left alone.
I guess ‘progressive’ is the new retro – show trials and purges straight from the thirties. what’s next, a sit-down strike?
