    The only really depressing thing about it is that the U.S. is going to have to suffer an attack even more catastrophic than 9/11 in order to snap these comfortable fools out of their reverie.

    When New York Harbor glows in the dark, I think a lot of people are going to find Western Civilization worth defending again.

    Great piece. Only thing missing was one of his patented non sequiturs. You know, something along the lines of:

    I admire Victor Davis Hanson because he is passionate and articulate.  I do not agree with him.
