Gleenings [Dan Collins]

Glenn’s new article is entitled:

Drudge and the Politico—poisonously joined at the hip

The new online political magazine, The Politico, is a pernicious new presence in our media landscape. As I noted the other day, it really is nothing more than the Drudge Report dressed up with the trappings of mainstream media credibility. Today, Will Bunch of the Philadelphia Daily News writes on his blog about what is merely the latest episode (of many) proving how closely coordinated The Politico is with The Drudge Report. It is not hyperbole to say that the former is all but an arm of the latter.

I don’t know.  Maybe a headline contest?  Glenn and Andy . . . .

You can even write a bit of an article, if you like.

“I think this is one of those very unfortunate situations where, completely inadvertently, he took the weapon into the Senate yesterday.”

Oh, well.  One of those unfortunate situations.

I shoulda checked here before hunting these links down, but it is almost as if Lambchop doesn’t get that this has always been Drudge’s business model:

True, much of his material comes from peeking at, say, tomorrow’s Washington Post headlines and running them today. Though he doesn’t like to talk about it, he’s got a couple of top-secret passwords that allow him to sneak into the internal computer networks of media powerhouses and, uh, window-shop among the works in progress. In addition, a network of tipsters, many of them reporters looking for a little advance buzz, regularly feed him leads.

It’s almost as if Ellers Wilson thinks that a site run by WaPo refugees should pretend that they do not know that Drudge is the WaPo’s biggest traffic driver.

Almost.  In reality, I think it’s just the latest attempt by GG and the Sorosphere to delegitimize any news outlet that doesn’t take its cues from the Townhouse.

I suspect the sockpuppet gets more traffic from conservative sites which link to his articles then he does from any lefties actually reading Salon.

I know he’s a target the size of say, Rosie O’donnel and we like to make fun of him but I really consider him somewhat dangerous in terms of his ideals for silencing conservatives and doing his part to undermine the Bush administration.

    Oh, that is rich.

  4. Chris Baker says:

Hmm. Jim Webb has a gun?  And it’s loaded.  And it’s in the hand of his aid, who happens to be a Marine.

    Oh and, Glenn is correct.

What is it with lefties and their obsessive conspiracy theories?

What a surprise.  Glenns is unable to sing in-tune outside his echo chamber; frustrated by the lack of worldwide adoration he knows they deserve, Glenns creates yet another horribily off-key symphony that only resonates within his exclusive choral cavity.

    horribily off-key symphony

bains, I know exactly what you mean, but technically I think it’s better to refer to a “caca-phony”.

  8. Nanonymous says:

Yeah, unfortunate my ***.  If I got apprehended with a pistol in the District, they’d throw the book at me.  If I’m liable to unjust prosecution under that idiotic law, he should be, too.

Maybe when Senators’ staffers start getting locked up for violating the laws that the rest of us have to live by, we’ll get some real change.  Until then, I see no reason why they should get the sort of immunity from prosecution that’s a distinguishing feature of legislatures in banana republics.
