It’s multiculturalism backsliding month!

Seems a German divorce court has decided that Muslim religious law— Koranic dicta—supersedes German civil law.

This mirrors an argument made by many German Muslim leaders, who have held that Koranic law trumps national law—meaning that, taking this logic to its inevitable conclusion, there will be separate, sovereign, mini-nations within Germany proper answerable primarily to Koranic law.

I eagerly await the German court ruling that allows for slavery, citing Exodus 21:20-21.  After all, it’s a Hebraic thing.  You wouldn’t understand.

update:  KEEP YOUR LAWS OUT OF MY SLAVE’S UTERUS!  Or, you know, something…

Which brings about a different question, does this now legitimatize any & all religious based opposition to gay marriage? Since apparently now the German court recognizes & inadvertently endorses any religious basis in defining marriage & inherently divorce, treatment of spouses, etc.

  2. Major John says:

At least the judge got knocked off the case. And the backlash has started, as the reliably leftist Spiegel now has on it’s German edition cover…

    Mekka Deutschland. Die stille Islamisierung

    (“Mecca Germany.  The silent Islamization”)

When der Spiegel starts bitching about Islam….it’s uh-oh time in the near to mid-term future.

  3. Blue Hen says:

    Hey PMain,

That’s a great question. Especially since we know that our Supreme Court has decided that international legal traditions and concensus should guide their decision making, rather than that pesky constitution thing.

Iowahawk already did this better. Something involving legalized stonings at legalized gay weddings.

Yet more proof that an education is no guarantor against stupidity. Something that the Germans excel at.

i know this is completely off topic, but I read ann’s latest article on global warming…and i can’t stop laughing about Al Gore’s “carbon buttprint”.

I know she’s controversial (whatever that means), but i think she’s funnier than Jay Leno. Does this make me sick?

    i hope so.

Of course not. I hope you also note that she has nicer legs, and better hair, than Leno. But Leno does have that groovy band backing him up … that’s worth something.

The Germans should loosen up a little. The Muslims just want a little more lebensraum.

I’m with the Major.  My fear isn’t that the West will be steamrollered by Islamification.  Rather, my fear is about how bloody the backlash will be when it comes.  It may be foolish of me, but I’m still optimistic that we can send the pendulum swinging back without the word “pogrom” gracing the headlines.

    Hope so, anyway.

    I don’t know.

All I do is e-mail an e-mail and e-mail and e-mail her about getting rid of that silly restraining order.

OK – then shouldn’t it be Shemot Mishpatim 21:20-21 (the uterus bit belongs to 22, right?)

Just to keep the gentile folk on their toes.

  13. memomachine says:

    Hmmm.

    That’s ok Jeff.

NYC is overrun with polygamists and yet the liberals can’t stop screaming about Mitt Romney’s great-grandfather.

It’s all about … you know … proportion.

Anything done by minorities is just fun things.

Anything done in the entire genetic history of a conservative or a Republican is worthy of burning at the stake.

But only if sufficient carbon credits are purchased prior to burning now!

Well, now those pig-eating, alcohol-swilling dhimmis just have to concede that the property of the childless goes the umma in lieu of the jizya being openly levied, and Germany will be firmly ensconsed in Eurabia.

  17. Matt, Esq. says:

I believe the word is dhimmi.

Though I got that from the hateslinging neocon jew traitors at little green foot balls, which I must admit, is so much more vile then .. Huffington Post and KOS, who are sweetness and light 24/7. I don’t know what the fuss is all about- Kos is about love and tolerance while LFG is about wiping every Arab off the map.

Heck, I heard Kos sent Tony Snow a fruitbasket.

As an aside, I don’t know why so many American men are resisting our Islamic overlords- quite frankly, sharia law would keep rosie o’donnel completely covered and utterly silent.

*Rumors in financial markets that Iran fired on one of our ships in the Gulf.*

Not surprising.  I think Iran’s sole purpose is to see how we’ll react to open hostility. If we strike back, they’ll apologize and we’ll back down.  If we don’t, then they’ll know we’re cowards and can do what they like.

With a democratic congress trying to completely violate Iraq (up the ass btw) by finding some way to make our troops leave, its a win win for Iran.

Squid – I hope you are right.  I have spent a fair amount of time (BA adn MA in History) running through what angry Europeans can do to the “other”.  Brrr.

If the Islamists in Europe knew what they could run into, they might think twice, or at least be a little more quiet about things.

They’re just waiting in the wings.

  23. Matt, Esq. says:

    Lew

The “great” thing is that under Sharia law, my understanding is you could do that- I think it involves 3 witnesses or something- but speaking from a legal standpoint, its not too hard to build a case on 3 witnesses to 1.

TW = military94!- if it comes down to Nancy Pelosi and Friends defunding the Iraq reconstruction, I’ll gladly donate to whatever charity can guarantee me 80% of the funds contributed are going to equipment and weapons for our troops overseas.

Ahhhh, so that’s what cognitive dissonance feels like.

“Zwei Reichen, Zwei Volken, EIN ALLAH!”

I’m starting to think Germany’s the canary in the intellectual coalmine: they can be relied upon to take a bad idea to its logical end first, leaving the rest of the world to gape in horror at the extremes of excess that result.

    Pardon my piss-poor German, BTW.

  29. Jim in KC says:

If the Islamists in Europe knew what they could run into, they might think twice, or at least be a little more quiet about things.

    Soccer hooligans?

  30. Nanonymous says:

Yeah, that’s a possibility – I was glancing through the “Gates of Vienna” a couple of weeks ago, and one of their bloggers wrote “we’re about to see what happens when a culture with a history of unlimited symbolic violence comes up against one with a history of unlimited real violence.”

Boy, talk about an unpleasant glimpse of the German soul.

  31. Scape-Goat Trainee says:

Anybody know if the usual women’s groups, Leftist nutjobs and feminist blogs are up in arms about this? Or are they doing the whole “Look the Other Way” tact they took when Bill Clinton was chasing anyone that worked for him and happened to be wearing a skirt? I figured since it’s Muslims we are talking about (you know…victims), versus Christians (you know…evil oppressors), they might be oh I don’t know HYPOCRITES about the whole thing?

What about you Alphie? You figured out yet how to change the subject on this so it’s America’s fault?
