Mega-Meta-Hypocrisy [Dan Collins}

****BRD’s Great Post Here****CraigC on Blow Jobs Here****

Title to Greenwald’s latest rant:

Is “Howard Kurtz” a software program?

From the guy who’s got as many clones as Agent Smith?

Soros buys 1.9 million shares of Halliburton.

Global Warming Caused by Solar Energy

Poor Gleen:

You might call it a cry for help or perhaps a voice from the past. But for scientists who recently recorded the shriek-like call of one of the world’s rarest birds, the sound is music to their ears.

The newly captured call belongs to the Sumatran ground cuckoo, a large, colorful bird so scarce that it was thought to be extinct until just ten years ago.

Since the species was rediscovered in 1997 on the Indonesian island of Sumatra, scientists have struggled to learn more about the secretive cuckoo.

Researchers got a chance to do just that when a trapper recently turned over an injured cuckoo to biologists with the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) in Indonesia.

Hahahaha!  They got the country wrong.

Have you noticed his bio there reads a bit differently than the one on his blog?

    Salon:

I was previously a constitutional law and civil rights litigator in New York…

    Blog:

For the past 10 years, I was a litigator in NYC specializing in First Amendment challenges, civil rights cases, and corporate and securities fraud matters.

    Picky of me, probably.

I would have commented on the prior thread re: GG but I did not understand it.

This one, however, is just bizarre. I mean, I’m all for being objective and such, but how anyone cannot tell the difference between advocating the assassination of a foreigner as opposed to advocating the assassination one of OUR OWN has completely departed Planet Earth.

What would a patriot do, Steve?

    Baha haa haaaa (from comments):

I agree that its fairly obvious that many if not all of these nutpicked comments are right wing trolls. They copy the language and tone of right wing rants against the democrats, progressives, liberals, etc. These posts are nothing at all like comments by people who read, listen to, and write in progressive media.

  5. Carin says:

But I think the subterfuge may go even deeper than that comment suggests – perhaps all the extremely moronic comments are actually right-wingers as well, trying to make democrats, liberals and progressives look stupid.

    we are SO sneaky.

  6. Steve says:

Dan: I doubt that there is anything illegal in GG’s refusal to recognize the difference between some American flapping his gums about killing Iranians versus some Americans bemoaning the failure of an assassination attempt on an American public figure.

However, the refusal to note the difference is just unhinged.

All of whom have HuffPo accounts and were just waiting to pounce on such a story in their never ending quest to make leftist look bad.

This tactic was designed by the well known Reich-winger, Bu$co-bot Moby.

    Damn you sneaky conservatives!

Translation: All comments in the blogosphere that appear to be written by leftwing lunatics were actually written by rightwing lunatics in one of Jeff Goldstein’s Scotch and Secret Blogging Seminars for the express purpose of narrative disruption and bad press.  The prolificity of Scotch brands and references on JG’s site are actually “hidden in plain sight” code words, directing the Jeff-olytes to the appropriate left-wing blog with instructions on how to fuck them up, to wit:

“On my fourth glass of Balvenie I begin to feel the need for something peaty”

    which really means

“Go over to GG’s site and say how much you dig killing Arabs”

    or something.

Moral equivalence at its ultimate conclusion. It’s wrong of us to want to take Osama out now, I’m sure.

  10. Defense Guy says:

It is one thing to point to the bad behavior of another as an example of what should not be done, but to try to use it as a means to deflect attention from the bad behavior of your brethren is just rank dishonesty.

I hope Glenn comes to his senses before he does some actual damage, if he hasn’t already.

  11. Pablo says:

AJB, McCain is kinda squishy in places, but that said, I think you’re looking for this.

    Enjoy!

    Steve,

I’m not sure I understand the exact tone you’re taking, but could it be rephrased along the lines of:

“An American yapping about whacking Mullah may not be altogether that cool, but if someone can’t distinguish between that and somebody trying to kill your own national leadership, then they’re absolutely delusional.”

    BRD

    Yes, that’s absolutely my position.
