Daily Kos Why

…Evidently, “I’m sorry I took a dump on the memories of my countrymen, and I feel like a sawed-off li’l lefty shitstack for doing it,” was a little too much to hope for.

Prick.

The Daily Kos: We make Wahhibism smell like freshly picked honeysuckle.

This is why I hold progressives in such low esteem.  They keep presenting themselves as speakers of truth to power, voices of conscience, etc.  But when the fight begins, these fair weather foes don’t turn into foul weather friends.

In short, as has been observed by many on the warblogosphere, they are not ‘for peace’; they’re just on the other side.

  2. roman says:

So now we’re supposed to get all sanctimonious over the deaths of those security guys—who went voluntarily into a war zone to make lots of money—just because they’re Americans?  But that can’t be it, because if fellow countryman Sean Penn had gotten his ass blown up in Baghdad you’d have said he deserved it, even though those mercenaries were in Iraq for reasons that have nothing to do with patriotism.  I mean, do you feel worse for those four individuals than you do for the 10,000 Iraqis killed so far in this war, including thousands of children? And what was your attitude toward the death of fellow countryman Rachel Corrie?  Or better, what if some dude broke into your house to steal your DVD’s—you’d kill him if you could, right?  So what makes you think that ordinary Iraqis watching heavily armed foreigners patrolling their streets might not feel the same way?  This whole bloodbath sucks, and desecration should be condemned, but you don’t have to be an unrepentant America-hater like Kos to understand that some victims are more innocent than others.

Ooh, yes, evil food guarding security guards.

    They are the absolute worse.

We must eliminate them at every turn.

Imagine what would happen if we allowed them to safely distribute food.  Why, people would eat!  It would mean the eand of everything.  How would anorexic self hating teens live with themselves.

Roman, you left wing idealogues should be on comdy central.

Rachel Corrie was helping to guard explosives smuggling tunnels on the west bank.  The explosives that came through those tunnels killed lots and lots of innocent israelis.

Of the 10K Iraqis killed in 1 year of fighting, 8K were soldiers and foreign fighters.  So the remaining 2K were mostly killed by those same foreign fighters in terrorist attacks.  Let us not pretend that the US rounded them up and shipped them off to extermination camps.

And the four FOOD GUARDING SECURITY GUARDS were ambushed by terroists and after they were killed were set upon by a 3rd world mob of dead enders.  Please don’t extrapolate the whole Iraqi people for a bunch of dea end losers.

“We” aren’t “supposed” to do anything, “roman.” For instance, I’m free to mourn the loss of Americans killed by the very savages we’re in Iraq to defeat, and you’re free to froth and foam and trot out the sinister-sounding “mercenary” meme that’s all the rage on DU and other sites frequented by far left and far right paranoiacs.

Unlike you, however, I attach my own name to my beliefs.

Splash your spittlefleck elsewhere.  I ain’t interested.

  5. Kos is an asshole so wrapped up in his own Kos-ness it’s not even funny.  He’s the kind of guy who could write an entire novel and find his head still a mile up his own asshole.  Fuck him.
