Ringing in the new year with an early editorial gaffe, the New York Times, it seems, isn’t quite ready to let go of 2006. Either that, or the Gray Lady has decided to forego any new year’s resolution that demands of her the rigor to fact check her reports before going to print—particularly if the end result is a smear against “conservatives” (who, to the Times, long ago have come to be defined as “those idiots who for some reason find our shoddy journalism and ideological bias to be a negative, for Chrissakes!”).
On the plus side though, I hear the old gal has pledged to give up trans fats and foie gras. So at least she’s not standing completely pat for ‘07.
Perhaps the failing NY Times would be more approving of Dear Leader Saddam’s demise if he was aborted, like that Salvadoran baby they mis-reported on.
Ah, first comment of 2007 ends in a preposition…or dangling participle…whatever. Grammarians are invited to comment.
Me & the Times–off to bad starts.
Cordially…
Maybe the NYT can find Jamil Hussein over at LGF, too.
Rick,
Between us our comments have started with a dangling participle and a comma splice. I hope it’s not a trend.
BECAUSE OF THE APPARATUS !!!
Heh.
The new rallying cry of the old media!
“Faith based” reporting.
When you want something to be true so badly, it must be.
As Bertie would say, “Res something or other. You put your finger on the nub, Tubby, I mean, Purple Avenger. “
Whoever wrote that article is a big, scary important reporter for the NY Times. You think a guy like that has time to go slumming on right wing blogs? I doubt it. Subsequently, an approximation of what is probably on the blog will just have to do.
Hey it had a truthiness about it…………anyway I have unnamed source……..
Bill Carter is a notorious drunk. It isn’t fair to poke fun at the poor red-necked piss-head.
Thanks for keeping an eye on the New York Times. Judy Miller, Tom Friedman, William Safire, just a terrible newspaper.
Does anyone know when Michelle Malkin is going to Baghdad to check out that phony AP story? She promised she would go to Baghdad to investigate, but I see she is still in America.
Does anyone have an update on Michelle’s trip to Iraq to give us the straight talk, unlike the NYT and the MSM? Thanks!
msbldp–
I think you’d have to talk to Eason Jordan, who’s supposed to be making the arrangements, right?
corvan,
Jamil Hussein is a registered poster at LGF.
Although it might be a pseudonym.
Does anyone know when Michelle Malkin…
You could take it up with her over at HotAir.com–she’s never posted here so far as I’ve ever seen. That said, it IS always good to see a random collection of consonants posting a back-handed defense of the New York Times.
Obviously y’all* simply don’t understand post-modern journalism. You want simple truth and accurate reporting, while the NYTimes gives you the higher Truth that’s not dependent on something so prosaic as facts.
*We’re waving a not so fond farewell to Colorful [white is a color!] Colorado today, on our circuitous way [way east into Kansas then south through Oklahoma] to Texas, so I’m practicing the lingo. As in “Hey, Y’all! I’m from Wyoming and I brought my shotgun!”
msbldp,
Funny, but I thought she accepted Eason Jordan’s offer to accompany him, along with Curt from Flopping Aces.
It’s beginning to look like Jordan thinks it might not be worth the trouble. But as of last week, Jordan says:
You’re really excited about the idea, huh?
That would be something up with which I would refuse to put.
I keep trying to pronounce “msbldp,” but everytime I do it just comes out “what a miserable little fuck this guy most certainly must be.”
– “msbldp” , Isn’t that the name of the pesky little turd in Superman, that went around with a rain cloud over his head, speading unhappiness, chaos, and discontent everywhere he went. Or was that Xtrpstfll. Anyway, you have to admit it captures the cut and run, surrender weasels whole lack of spirit. Apropos, and their hero, Hussein, is still just as dead.
– The New York Pravda. That piece of shit Leftist polito-rag is headed for the bone yard. Soon the soft Marxists will have to shift their base of Leaking operations back to the campus Xerox machines.
Now that even Eason Jordan is stating that the AP has credibility problems concerning the Captain Hussein, can’t we find something else to debate than the preferred locale of Ms Malkin?
Becuase she’s going to have as much luck finding him as I will finding buried treasure in my back yard.
I wonder if the bans that were passed will cause NYC land values to go up or down in the aggregate. I am guessing up. I am guessing that that was the secret criteria used in passing the bans that passed. Forecasted land values. The Council passes bans that they think will increase the tax base. Cause that is how they make more money.
