Homeland Security [Dan Collins]

American advisors train IDF in antimissile defense

76 Replies to “Homeland Security [Dan Collins]”

  1. BJTexs says:

Dan, I hereby apologise for every snippy and clever dig I ever made against you. I literally, literally, did a full 360 on my office chair and roared. Just the thought of a line of Spongebobs… I just can’t go on…

    Hee – larious.

However the office staff is eyeing me in a most peculiar way…

  2. That must be a French barrage balloon. It’s got its hands above its head.

    And it’s yellow.

  3. Dan Collins says:

Did you say something snippy?  I don’t recall.  Clever I’ll give you.

  4. 6Gun says:

So, that’s the Mile High City there, right?

  5. Jeff Goldstein says:

    No no no no no!

For that defense system to prove effective, it simply must be deployed in conjuncti on with a really really huge pile of dirt!  Or some kind of Kevlar mountain secured with fishing line and chicken wire.

    Jesus.  Don’t you people listen?

  6. BJTexs says:

Cotton candy! I proposed cotton candy and Bubble gum and no one listened to me. Big machines, frozen treats, mountains I tell ya…

Hey! Hey! Leggo of me. Get that needle away from me! Italian ice, cherry flav …….#

    mmmmmmmmm Kevlar Mountains of ice….

  7. A fine scotch says:

And don’t forget about the whales!

Jeebus, will someone please think about the whales?!?

  8. BJTexs says:

    Dan

    Did you say something snippy?

OK, mildly mocking. Thanks for the clever.

    Mr. C

That must be a French barrage balloon. It’s got its hands above its head.

    And it’s yellow.

Now I’ve got a bruised hand from smashing my desk. The office crew is making furtive phone calls and my boss looks like he wants to fire my ass.

BTW: Willy will have to have a new greeting for the French class:

“Bonjour, ya water suckin’ surrender sponges!”

  9. Major John says:

Jeebus, will someone please think about the whales?!?

Indeed, aren’t they going to patrol the Med instead of those Israeli frigates…?

  10. N, O'Brain says:

Jeebus, will someone please think about the whales?!?

    Ummmmmm….ok……

SAVE THE WHALES! COLLECT THE WHOLE SET!

    [how’s that?]

  11. jdm says:

… and Dan, I take it all back.

With an end result like this post, provoking the little weasel until he wrote something really stupid was a brilliant scheme. Clearly.

I bow to your stick-poking skills. You are a true master.

  12. Pablo says:

    INFIDEL!!!

  13. A fine scotch says:

Sorry, the whale thing came from Slartibartfast in the previous balloon-wall/monky-ripping thread. See here.

  14. A fine scotch says:

Ok, so that link didn’t work for me.  See p. 2 of the comments and look for Slart’s 2:33 pm post.

  15. TODD says:

“Jeebus, will someone please think about the whales?!?”

Uh, I think we do..And a little too much by the way. Why do think the US Navy Sub Fleet cannot actively ping? Because of the environmental damage it would do to the damn whale. So let’s give up our defenses for our aquatic mammal friends… Just saying ya know………Kinda like during the LA riots when the National Guard was sent out to patrol the streets without bullets…

  16. Big Bang hunter says:

    – ”On the berm agin” – (sung to “On the road again”, Lyrics by D. Collins, BB Hunter)

    – intro

    On the berm again

Just can’t wait to get on the berm again

The life I love is stopping Jihad missles with my chin

And I can’t wait to get on the berm again

    – coda

    On the berm again

Goin’ places no virgins ever been

Lift Pelosi’s burqua, you may never see again

And I can’t wait to get on the berm again.

    – corus

    On the berm again

Like a band of gypsies we go down the Gazaway

    We’re the best of friends

Insisting that Palestine be rubble our way

    And our way

    Is on the berm again

Just can’t wait to get on the berm again

The life I love is throwin’ bacon with a grin

And I can’t wait to get on the berm again

    -bridge

    On the berm again

They sent Jhimmi to try some surrender spin

    But Joooos need real D-Fence

So they let us use our erections our way

    And our way

    Is on the berm again

Just can’t wait to get on the berm again

The life I love is fuckin’ our Jihadi friends

And I can’t wait to get on the berm again

    – chorus and fini

    On the berm again

Just can’t wait to get on the berm again

The life I love is blocking Jihad missles with my chin

And I can’t wait to get on the berm again

And I can’t wait to get on the berm again

And I can’t wait to get on the berm again…

    – fade out with corus….

If Spongebob can live in the sea then why can’t the Jews? Huh?

  19. monkyboy says:

    Hehe,

Now we mock the Balloon Fence(tm)?

Say what you want, but a government should spend its defense money to defend its citizens from the threats it actually faces…

You go to war with the threat you face, not threat you’d like to face.

Obscure metaphor going … going … going … GONE!

Ballon Fence guy has returned in all of his inanity. Let the mirth proceed!

Perfect Pitch. Excellent Tone. Fucking Brilliant.

  24. ThomasD says:

You guys can laugh at the proto-simian’s ideas but some of them have merit.  Up here in north Idaho we are practically surrounded by mile high dirt berms.  Well ok. there is also a fair amount of solid rock involved, but that’s really not important since all of that is actually underneath the surface dirt anyway.  What is important is that these mile high ‘earthen’ berms not only offer some defense from short range rocket fire they also offer wonderful recreational opportunities such as skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer, and all that snowpack they accumulate provides excellent drinking water for the local population.  Heck, just as this site’s proprietor about all of the wonderful one and two mile high earthen berms in Colorado.  In my opinion Israel could benefit from a few more regardless of the risks of rocket attacks.  Build one in the right place and they could easily give up the Golan Heights.

  25. Tai Chi Wawa says:

If Mohammed cannot go to the mountain . . .

  26. monkyboy says:

    Well,

Israel can just stick with their current plan…not that it has a chance to actually stop the rockets:

    http://haaretz.com/hasen/spages/790450.html

  27. McGehee says:

I hear Iran has some of those rock-based earthen berms. Maybe we could give that to Israel for their defense.

  28. Chairman Me says:

You know what’d be easier than putting up balloons?  Bomb the living shit out of Syria.

  29. monkyboy says:

That sure stopped Hezbollah’s rockets, didn’t it chairman?

Somehow, the militaries of America and Israel have convinced their citizens that total failure equals victory.

  34. Big Bang hunter says:

“Somehow, the militaries of America and Israel have convinced their citizens that total failure equals victory.”

    – Get back to us when you see a Jihadist flag flying over the Knesset or the Capital building. til then, the only failure we see around here, is your constant failure to ever say anything meaningful, or honest monkeydick.

  35. monkyboy says:

The job of the IDF is to defend Israeli citizens BBh.

Every Israeli citizen killed by some cheap rocket represents a total failure by the IDF.

That the IDF just repeats the same failed tactics in response to the rocket attacks is criminal negligence on their part.

Yeah, the Balloon Fence(tm) may not work, but at least it’s an attempt to try something new…it could be tested tomorrow and be up in next week if it worked…

That’s how we won WWII, btw.

It wasn’t just wavin’ flags and slaughtering civvies.

  36. Big Bang hunter says:

That’s how we won WWII, btw.

    – No monkey. Every wazoo weapon, always has a counter. The way we won WWII was by beating the crap out of the Germans, and the Japanese, until they couldn’t fight anymore.

    – The problem with the Islamofacists, is they’re too fucking stupid to quit when they’re just dying like flies, for no good reason, other than supposided religious fervor, which I don’t believe is the case for their melevolent leaders, whom you might notice are always somehow “absent” when the slaughter starts. The leaders are more than willing to let the followers jump in the wood chipper to advance their own cockeyed idea’s of world dominence. Allah doesn’t have anything to do with it, that’s just a convienient tool, like demonizing America, and Bush, is a vital ingrediant in rallying their gaggle.

    – America, as the great Satan, is the perfect target for ther movement. An open society, that allows almost anything short of actual physical violence, all under the banner of the 1st amendment, and the Constitution in general. A rabid anti-American Left wing press, that will gladly act as the shills/pitch men for them, and about 1/3 of the American electorate that are either hard nosed ideologs, or confused Leftwing Dems, that are getting sucked in because its the “chic’ thing” right now. Sort of a repeat of the 30’s “Communist” movement, even including the Hollywood types.

    – Lastly we use a lot of oil in our economy that they can point to as our incentive to act badly, and steal from them, even though the truth is we pay out the ass for it. So America is the perfect villian for their agenda. You don’t see those tactics in the Euro’s, because they can do it there just by over-immigration, attacks from time to time to influence elections directly, and slow dhimmitude, which Socialisms are always vulnerable too.

    – They try the other crap from time to time, like the carefully “staged” 6 clerics causing a scene in Minneapolis yesterday, followed quickly by a public statement from CAIR, a Humas based org, for a call for investigations. But in general the ploys don’t work so good here in the states.

    – The only way the attacks on Israel will stop, is when Hamas/Hez/Syria/Iran can no longer mount attacks. Period.

  37. monkyboy says:

Was was the counter to nuclear weapons again, BBh?

Labeleing every dead Muslim an Islamofacist just helps the U.S. military and the IDF get away with doing a piss-poor job…

By your method, the attacks on Israel will never stop then.  Be nice if the IDF came up with a way to minimize their effectivenss.

  38. Civilis says:

Primatlad does bring up an interesting point, indirectly.  (Thanks!) There is a very nice comparison between World War 2 and Israel’s current situation with respect to rocket attacks against civilian populations, the V-2.

The British were able to mitigate the damage the V-2 caused by using propaganda and media disinformation to mess with German targeting, something impossible in the current media climate.  Other than that the only successful strategies were to bomb the crap out of fixed V-2 launch sites, and then when the Germans switched to mobile launchers, capture so much German-occupied territory that there was no place the Germans could launch from within range of Britain.

World War 2 was largely not won by bizarre science projects, but by inflicting massive military damage against the Axis powers.  (The one really successful bizarre science project, the Manhattan project, is also by definition a case of inflicting massive damage.)

Israel’s only restraint against using military power to end the problem is political, and that political pressure is itself against logic and decency.  As I said in a previous thread, if it’s fair for Hezbollah and Hamas to launch rockets from Gaza against Israeli civilian targets, it should be fair for Israel to shell the crap out of the suspected rocket launch areas.

  39. monkyboy says:

    Well, Civilis,

It was the Soviets that defeated Germany, America gets credit with an assist, though.

Maybe Israel should try to get another country to do most of the fighting for them.

    Oh, wait a sec…never mind.

  40. Big Bang hunter says:

    By your method….

    – As much as you desperatly try to villify the West for standing up to the senseless attacks monkey, it won’t wash. If and when the Jihadists decide to stop attacking their neighbors, then that will be their choice not ours. Our choice is to defend ourselves, or not, and no amout of moral equivalancy, or revisonist propaganda can change that, for all your wishful thinking.

    – BTW. Your contention that the Israeli’s, and Western forces in general, do not adjust tactics to counter the Jihadists attacks, are also specious nonsense. Just as an example, the IDF built a wall, moved all Israeli’s out of that section of the Gaza, even old time residents that went all the way back to WWII. then the Jihadi decided lobbing rockets was the next step, since human bombs were just too dificult. So after 300+ of those fired into civilian living area’s the IDF started hammering the sources. right now the latest Pal ploy is to launch and then force as many civilians as possible into the Launch buildings. they just don’t give a fuck about their own people. I expect the IDF will develop the means to fast detect launches and destroy the sites before the Pals can move civilians in. the Hamas assholes will no doubt think of another “angle”, and so forth. War’s always “evolve”, til one side or the other runs out of options.

    – So, again, you’re full of crap.

    – I’m not sure exactly what the nuclear reference pertains too, but it’s a pretty good bet that if Iran actually manages deliverable atomic weapons, Israel will turn Tehran into the worlds largest Glass factory. Again it’s up to the Imam’s, not Israel.

  41. monkyboy says:

It’s not a question of “standing up to the senseless attacks” or Staying the Course!, BBh.

It’s just a question of what works.

The “solution” the right has to every single problem in the Middle East seems to be…slaughter a bunch of civilians.

But it hasn’t worked in Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon or Gaza.

Excuse me if I point out the massive failures this “solution” has caused.

Excuse me if I suggest we try something different…

  42. Civilis says:

Don’t start on World War II history.  The Soviets would not have lasted out the first year without US and British assistance.  It’s a team effort; remove the US, the British or the Soviets and the remaining Allies lose the war.

The Soviets are also the last people you want to mention if your point is ‘the war was won through technological wizardry’ and ‘using lots of firepower never solves the problem’.  Nice attempt to change the subject though.

I’ll be kind and disagree with Big Bang Hunter for you.  The rockets will stop when the cost (non-financial) for using them is higher than the benefits.  At the moment, there is no real cost.  Start bombarding the immediate vicinity of wherever the rockets are launched from and make it clear that this tactic will continue indefinitely and suddenly people will be strongly against rocket launchers in their immediate vicinity specifically even if they support the war against Israel in general.

  43. Civilis says:

Besides, we haven’t tried slaughter of civilians yet.  I’m sure a real expert on the Second World War such as yourself can recognize that what we’re seeing the US and Israel do is in no way, shape or form a massive slaughter of civilians…

  44. Big Bang hunter says:

“…Start bombarding the immediate vicinity of wherever the rockets are launched from.”

    – Thats exactly what the IDF has ben doing the past two months, and after losing a good number of Hamas thugs, the Pals came up with the “cram as many civilians as you can into the launch sites. which supports, instead of argues my original point. It must have been hurting them badly enough they had to turn ti the human shield approach again, like they did in that firefight back a few weeks ago.

Besides, we haven’t tried slaughter of civilians yet.

    – No we havn’t, either in Iraq or Palestine, which fucks up one of the Lefts favorite canards, so monkycrap switches, saying that we aren’t being “effective”. The Left really needs to get some new writers badly.

    – Hey monkeydick. You think maybe fewer civilians would get killed if the Jihadist assholw would stop fighting their battles from the middle of them, hiding behind women and children. you think?

  45. monkyboy says:

The T-34 and Katyushas were innovative, civilis.

Why do you guys criticize our allies that just supply equipment for Iraq but no troops, then?  That’s about all the support the U.S. gave the Soviets until the war was a few months from being over…

It’s not the the number of civilians the U.S. military and the IDF kills that’s the issue, civ.

It’s the fact that they keep missing the actual bad guys.

  46. Big Bang hunter says:

It’s the fact that they keep missing the actual bad guys.

    – They’re not “missing” the bad guys. Time after time they don’t go ahead with counter strikes because the enemy is cowering within a large group of civilians.

    – So then I guess what you’re saying is that because they won’t pull the trigger, in spite of civilian deaths, they’re ineffective. Which in terms means you’d be FOR increased civilian killing so the IDF would be “effective”. Which?

  47. SteveG says:

    monky,

Compare and contrast the experience of Germany with the Soviet and the American occupations.

Muslim casualties in the GWOT are directly related to Islamofascism…. the US wouldn’t be killing anyone over there if the Islamofascists were not being shitknuckles.

Muslim casualties at the hand of Israel are directly related to Islamofacism. If Hamas and Hezbollah (and whatever other group emerges) stop lobbing missles and sending suicide bombers then Israel wouldn’t be targeting the anti social bastards mingled in with the others.

You are falling into the classic parental trap….. who started it? “he started it” “nooooooo, she did”.

At this point, the goal is to leave the balance of power in the party least likely to commit genocide on a grand scale. The position of Hezbollah and Iran is “I’ll kill you all”

Israel’s is: “if you do that again you will suffer the consequences”

I think that warfare should be done with extreme violence that ensures deterrence and compliance. This other bullshit doesn’t work.

  48. Big Bang hunter says:

    – monkeycrap – Only you could sit there and try to aver that murdering thugs that use their own woman and children as shields are the poor, misunderstood victims, and the side that tries to spare civilians while trying to defend themselves from rocket attacks, are the villians. Bullshit.

    – Answer my question. So you WANT more effective killing then. that about it?. you can’t have it both ways because the enemy won’t let you.

  49. monkyboy says:

    Hehe,

There were no terrorists in Iraq before we invaded that country, Steve.

Somewhere between 150,000 and 600,000 Iraqi civilians have been killed while the U.S. military was supposed to be protecting them.

How can we kill bad guys that aren’t even there?

  50. Big Bang hunter says:

How can we kill bad guys that aren’t even there?

    – Erm….wait….How would Somewhere between 150,000 and 600,000 Iraqi civilians be killed with no “bad guys”. Something isn’t adding up monkeybutt.

    – you’re trying to evade and move on down the road. Answer my question. More civilian deaths to be “effective”, since you’d have a pretty hard time killing the bad guys hiding among them, or no. Your call simianhead.

  51. monkyboy says:

They weren’t there before we went in, BBh.

They sure are there now, though…

  52. Civilis says:

The T-34 and Katyushas were innovative, civilis.

Innovative, yes, to some extent, although most T-34 crews would probably rather have had the M4.  Massive technological revolutions, no.  Massive scientific undertakings, no.  If you want to look at the gee-whiz technological developments, the cruise and ballistic missiles, the heavy tanks, remotely guided weapons, jet planes, rocket planes, that sort of crap came from the Germans first, and it didn’t help them win a battle, much less the war.

Why do you guys criticize our allies that just supply equipment for Iraq but no troops, then?  That’s about all the support the U.S. gave the Soviets until the war was a few months from being over…

Yeah, it’s not like we had massive battles in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, and France, and thousand-bomber raids over Germany.  We didn’t do anything until the very end.  It’s also not like we didn’t delay the opening of Barbarossa a couple months so the German advance didn’t achieve its objectives before that first winter set in.

Seriously, read up on the Second World War.  Even you might learn something.

  53. monkyboy says:

About 3.5 million German soldiers died during WWII.

About 3.1 million of them were killed on the Eastern Front fighting the Soviets, Civ.

Divide up the credit for killing the remining 400,000 however you want among America, Britain, Canada, etc., it still only comes out as an assist.

  54. lee says:

It is pointless debating someone as stupid, igorant, and dishonest as monkyboy.

I mean, come on, the guy is still defending the balloon fence.

  55. Big Bang hunter says:

They weren’t there before we went in, BBh.

They sure are there now, though…

    – Yes, yes, Lefturd canard #23. I just love this one. You only make enemies by actually defending yourself, or fighting the enemy in his heartland. Yep, that’s a real trip in senseless logic.

    – You know monkeytwit, a lot of professionals in the field believe that was a smart move on our parts, sucking all the oxygen out of the Jihad by drawing them there like rats. Better there than Newark.

  56. Big Bang hunter says:

    – Out of the 3.1 million German soldiers that died on the Eastern front, it’s estimated fully 80-90% of them froze to death. Also, of the remaining 2.15 million German soldiers on the Western front, 76% of those surrendered.

    – You still havn’t answered my question concerning that pesky “effectiveness”, and consequiential civilian death toll. Or is it just that you painted your5self into a corner that time.

    – See, you need to learn from actass. He’s careful never, ever to make any rock solid comments, at any time.

  57. Civilis says:

    [Useless Primatlad Numbers Clipped]

Of course, if you were to be honest and include total casualties, not just killed, you’d come up with a different percentage.  The Russians just weren’t that fond of taking prisoners.  You’d also then have to account for the casualties of other European Axis nations, which could tip the scales either way.  And the Yugoslavs and Poles would be a little miffed that they got cut out of your Eastern Front history.

To return to one of your earlier quotes:

Why do you guys criticize our allies that just supply equipment for Iraq but no troops, then?

I’ll give them the same sort of credit when the people supplying us in Iraq have to face Al Quaeda battleships, U-boats, aircraft, and the North Sea.

To further expound on what I said earlier, anyone can find relevant numbers on the internet.  Spend some time studying the actual history and you might learn something.

  58. lee says:

    you might learn something.

    Monkyboy?

Why Civilis, you big, indomitable, 24 karat gold optimist you!

  59. monkyboy says:

Most of the troops on the Western Front were old men and boys with little training or equipment, BBh.

Can you really blame them for surrendering?

I don’t have any great ideas on how to take out bad guys hiding among civilians.

But I think taking a few simple steps to reduce the civilian casualties they cause would go a long way.

The Balloon Fence(tm) is one step.

Stop having recruits for the Iraqi police and military gather in large groups is another.  Seems like every day there’s an attack that takes out 20-30 of them.

I’m sure there are many more steps we can take to reduce civilian casualties.

The good thing about defensive measures is you don’t have to rely on the bad guys for anything…

  60. Big Bang hunter says:

The good thing about defensive measures is you don’t have to rely on the bad guys for anything…

    – That comment is so feckless, I have to conclude you’ve never been closer to anything military than a video game on your ‘puter.

    – Combat is about dynamics, ever changing moves, and counter moves DEPENDING EXACTLY on what the enemy does. Same situation for either offense or defense. That’s about the only unchanging condition in war.

    – Expecting things to be static, is exactly wrong. expecting things to always go right is not going to happen.

    – Critqueing a war while it’s still in progress, is a fools game, one the idiots on the Left never seem to tire of.

    – Instant gratification is not a proficious line of thinking in a war. Thus the Lefts arguments, con-Iraq, are mostly ankle biting politics, having little or nothing to do with the facts on the ground.

    – Ankle biting is what you do when you have nothing else, and you are out of power.

    – The Dems are now, marginally, in control. I’m hearing less and less of cut and run. Imagine that.

  61. monkyboy says:

We’re not fighting a “war,” BBh, we are occupying a country.

It’s a fool’s game to think you can be a benevolent occupier.

The Iraqis don’t want us there.

    We should leave.

    It’s pretty simple.

  62. Big Bang hunter says:

We’re not fighting a “war,” BBh, we are occupying a country.

    – Yeh, we know that’s your mantra, your “article of faith”. There is no WOT. Cling to it, preferably right thru ‘08. Please.

The Iraqis don’t want us there.

    – Did someone on your side of the fence take a vote from the Iraqi’s the rest of us are unaware of, or has the Left become so omnivorite, they now can speak for the majority of Iraq. I have this feeling that’s a vote you wouldn’t want to hold. No way the shithead MSM could spin the results, except of course to call it “unimportant”, like they did for the last two elections there. you have no udea’s, nothing of value. You’re just anti-everything, bring nothing to the party.

I’m not going to debate you anymore. You’re like all Lefturd ideologs. You throw out comments, and then move to the next talking point. Your side is like a broken record, responding to nothing from the other POV. Ric, and some of the other regulars are right. You’re a waste of time in the same way all the trolls are. Like them, every single one of your reductionist bullshit simpleminded comments lead back to “We’re not Bush”.

  63. Olaf? Olaf!? it’s time to repair this trollbot, he’s looping again.

  64. monkyboy says:

Unlike the Stay the course! side, BBh?

    Hehe.

I am fascinated by the Montessori Army concept the IDF and U.S. military have developed.

No need for grades or a timetable.

Move at your own pace and set your own goals.

Your mission is whatever you say it is.

    Pretty sweet.

  65. 6Gun says:

    Stay the Course(tm), monkyspunk.

    hehe.

    Because America rocks!

    Ever see Team America?

War is for the Baptist churches and white people we’re bringing to the mideast.  That rocks, dood.

    Very sweet, actually.

    Hehe.

    And pretty sweet.

  66. Slartibartfast says:

Still no word on when Israel bombed the shit out of Syria.

Figures.  The best parts of history aren’t in my history books.

  67. SteveG says:

I think monk has hit on something….. it isn’t a war. The rules of engagement make it a police action at best.

In a war we’d go in and beat the living shit out of the Mahdi Army in Sadr City.

Ramadi would be turned to rubble. The border with Syria would be sealed and compounds within Iran and Syria that hold enemies and their supplies would be targeted.

Civilian casualties would be seen as collateral damage caused by the enemies presence within the civilian population.

The Israelis would do the same. Hezbollah sets up a rocket launcher next to a UN post? Too bad, UN better vacate ASAP before the boom.

If this was war, millions might be dead, millions more displaced. Syria, Iraq and Iran would be smoking ash heaps and tens of thousands of US soldiers would likely have died to make it that way.

We’ve tried to make it all tidy and police like. Civil rights, reparations etc. The US Army and the IDF can do police stuff like that, it just isn’t the type of overwhelming violence that produces an unequivocable result.

People like monk first demand that “war” be redefined into relatively tidy police action and then complain and backstab when the results are checkered.

By the way, it is monk right? Not some missing link reference?

Because you remind me of some buddhist monks I’ve met.

  68. monkyboy says:

Actually, Steve, I don’t think the U.S. military and the IDF can do things like that.

Might be best to just disband them and come up with something new…

  69. 6Gun says:

Actually, monkyspunk, there’ll be no disbanding until we reach white male superiority in all possible international theaters, monkyspunk.  Republicanism!

monkyspunk, if only algore and rest of the communists in the Clinton Administration had done their jobs, monkyspunk, we wouldn’t be cleaning up after them, monkyspunk.  Clinton lied, people died(tm), monkyspunk.

    Not hehe.

monkyspunk, the entire Democrat Congress did this, monkyspunk, to a once-proud America, monkyspunk.

Not pretty sweet(tm).  As would be the Underwater Balloon Fence to protect the Cole from more Clinton-era failures, monkyspunk.

  70. BJTexs says:

Might be best to just disband them and come up with something new…

like? (he asked with bated breath.) Oh, wait, I know…

    BALLOON FENCES!! BWAAAA HAHAHAHA

    It just never gets old…

BTW: you asked me a question over at “Trooth” and I answered it in gory detail.

  71. Slartibartfast says:

    in Just-

spring when the world is mud-

    luscious the little

    lame balloonman

    whistles far and wee

    and eddieandbill come

    running from marbles and

    the queer

    old balloonman whistles

    far and wee

    and bettyandisbel come dancing

    from hop-scotch and jump-rope and

    it’s

    spring

    and

    the

    goat-footed

    balloonMan whistles

    far

    and

    wee

  72. oh wow, Slarti, that brings back memories. I’ve never seen that poem, um, in the correct form(?) i sang a setting of it in college though. huh, that’s what i get for not doing any research.

  73. Slartibartfast says:

I’ve been thinking of that for a while, maggie, and pondering on how well “little lame balloonman” resonates with some of our more recent discussions.

And that’s all I have to say about that.  Except, possibly, something about “goat-footed balloonman”.

  74. Major John says:

And with no IDF, the bad guys would never dream of simply popping your beautiful balloons, or just walking over and killing everyone with rifles, grenades and knives.

    monky for CinC IDF!

  75. monkyboy says:

    Sounds good Major,

Start a hopeless war, adjust my stock portfolio, then check into a hospital with a tummy ache for the duration…

…then blame my underlings when it goes badly.

  76. Phone Technician in a Time of Roaming says:

Hey, monkyboy, was that last post supposed to mean something?

Aside from more proof of the whole stupidity issue?
