Do they do these headlines on purpose?
Doc’s Appt. Angers Family Planning Group
It’s an AP story. Can the writer possibly realize what this sounds like . . . at least to us wingnuts?
The Bush administration, to the consternation of its critics, has picked the medical director of an organization that opposes premarital sex, contraception and abortion to lead the office that oversees federally funded teen pregnancy, family planning and abstinence programs.
Just dreadful.
You don’t understand. If you’re irresponsible enough to have sex and get pregnant without the means to take care of your child, the state is responsible for said child’s upbringing.
It’s so obvious!
If you wonder how Bush went from an 88% approval rating after 9/11 to his current dismal approval rating, look no further than appointments like this…
Clever wartime presidents are bipartisan presidents…
Really? What the precedent for this?
Monkyboy uses the leftists version on “bipartisan” which means to do what the leftists want you to do.
It’s all about the Middle East. However, Iraq is a diversion. As the army attacks Iraq, the US gov’t erodes rights at home by suspending habeas corpus, stealing private lands, banning books like “America Deceived” from Amazon, rigging elections, conducting warrantless wiretaps and starting 2 illegal wars based on lies. Soon, another US false-flag operation will occur (sinking of an Aircraft Carrier) and the US will invade Iran, (on behalf of Israel).
Final link (before Google Books bends to gov’t demands and censors the title):
America Deceived (book)
Well, we can hope. Nuclear annihilation via ICBM would be my first choice, but I’ll sure take an invasion over our present course of craven appeasement and diplomacy.
A government that can successfully launch two wars based on lies and strip away constitutional rights, but somehow can’t stop 11/5 m-bot from speaking.
Unless 11/5 and m-bot are part of the conspiracy…
If this is true, it is one of Bushco’s few sucess’, because it as sure as hell attracted the attention of the pinheads.
Ridiculous, enemy combatants have never had habeas corpus. Bush has simply refused to grant new and extended rights to these thugs.
Is indeed a problem, it far predates the present administration, however.
Don’t know zip about this one, might have something to do with this, I suspect.
To intentionally lose, those devious bastards!
*yawn*
Umm, I am sorry, I thought at first you were serious. Here’s some change, sorry I can’t give more, close to Christmas you know. There is a soup kitchen down the block if you are hungry.
Happy Holidays!
Oh, the mirth!Q Check outr the author’s biography in the link posted:
You just can’t write comedy this good…
Um…E.A….lots of luck with that…
Its almost as if we appointed a bunch of morons to run a war.
And you’re feeling left out, right?
Totally! civilian-run military. That means people like me—pajama clad in mom’s basement—get to hawk our way around the world vicariously.
That means people like meâ€â€pajama clad in mom’s basementâ€â€get to hawk our way around the world vicariously.
– Which is really really fortunate for you actout…Because, unlike “Bothers in Arms” – the game, there are no “reset” buttons on the real battle fields of life…..
(emphasis mine)
And so the chickenhawk meme raises its ugly head again. I suggest that we run with this reasoning and institute the following PW rules for commentating:
No commenting about taxes unless you are a tax accountant.
No commenting about African calamities unless you work for an aid agency (UN doen’t count unless your talking about underage rape, white slavery, oil for food or enabling massacres.)
No commenting about entitlements unless you are a social worker or sociologist.
No commenting on Chinese Economic conditions unless you are a trained economist specializing in Asian Economic assesments.
No commenting on war policy unless you are in the military, but even then we reserve the right to mock your contribution and demand to know where the money went(but only if you are a CPA)
No commenting on feminism unless you are…um … ah … a female. Proof of gender must be provided.
No commenting on domestic politics unless you are a politician (which means the inmates have the keys to the asylum.)
No commenting on Global Warming unless you are a certified Climatologist and you have kissed Al Gore’s Renewable Energy Ring, carbon neutral.
No commenting on interrogation technioques unless you have been an interrogator and/or you have been hung by your ankles upside down, repeadedly dipped in to a barrel of liquified, over aged Limburger while “MacArthur’s Park” plays continuously in the background.
And finally;
no commenting on red pills, dancing dillo’s or the romantic mores of taco cheese unless you are a desperate, unfinished screenwriter terrorizing neighborhood kids, undermining you HOA and mercilessly scrubbing pooch vomitus off of your new carpet.
Other than that, comment away!!
If only military vets can comment on the military then why doesn’t actus and other leftards shut up about it already?
I know. Thus the advantage of the vicarious life. I can sit here as thousand fight and die across the globe… wave my arms and endure open-ended commitments and talk of “surrender” and withdrawl and dhimmitude to my heart’s content. The only thing that could make it better would be if I lived in flyover country rather than a target city.
Oh. I think you miss the point. I think civilian control is good, nay, GREAT thing. It holds out the prospect of hippies telling jarheads what to do! Gays in your bunk? Save some starving black people in africa? Death in a war with no exit strategy? All that’s a good thing.
Actus, if you don’t want your “point” to be missed, then stop sprinking words like “hawk” in your comments that you know damn well have another meaning used extensively by the left.
BTW: nobody here cares what your views on military strategy are.
Did intentionalism just get stabbed in the back?
I know, I too suffer the Cassandra pajama-curse.
monkyspunk, when you post here, do you do so secure in the knowledge that each word argues against your apparent platform?
Cause that’s the result, idiot. Each thread you exit with your tail between your feces-encrusted flanks, and each thread you enter you surely must figure nobody notices.
Never thought I’d say this, but learn from the actard, monkyboi.
“The only thing that could make it better would be if I lived in flyover country rather than a target city.”
– Ummm… a little friendly advice actup… with the Dems coming out now for increased troop strength in Iraq, no doubt suddenly realizing a bloodbath and total loss there would nuke their chances in ‘08, you’re probably better off staying in what ever soft-Marxist hell hole you’re in, rather than going rural. Just once, letting a red-neck country lurking mouth breather catch sight of your well worn Che T-shirt, and your ass would be double holed.
TW: called69 ….Many are, but few are choosen….
Marxist? I live in a gentrifying neighboorhood i can barely afford! Capitalism baby!
I find it amazing that half way through Bushs second term, lefties can still work up suprise when he makes decisions based on his beliefs and pricipals, rather than his political opponents.
Are we supposed to believe Bush should have picked some one for premarital sex and abortion, to lead the office that oversees federally funded teen pregnancy, family planning and abstinence programs.
What do you think bush’s beliefs on pre-marital sex and contraception are? I think he’s rather pro. Don’t you?
In the complete absence of evidence supporting that assertion, you would believe it.
I doubt Bush has a problem with contraceptives, thats a Catholic thing, but I would bet the farm he not for pre-marital sex.
Also, I have a feeling that saying the appointee (and by extention, Bush) was opposed to contraceptives was probably misleading. I imagine the position is, when trying to discourage pre-marital sex, and encourage abstenance for kids, the fact that contraceptives are not 100% effective in preventng pregnacy or STDs is a prominent point.
LIES!!! (because the left doesnt like the fact)
I mean, the only evidence I have is that he seemed to live a rather party life. And Its not too hard to imagine he was using contraception and engaging in pre-marital sex. So he must be quite for it.
Actus, do you normally confuse the past with the present, or present with past? Are you disoriented as to time and place?
I’m guessing YES, and there’s a special place in the DSM IV for your kind.
You’re a lawyer huh?
Oh. Well, I also imagine that dubya doesn’t forget his past, or regret it, or think himself so special that only he ought to have had that but now nobody can.
Yeah. Didn’t you see him, during katrina, retell of his New Orleans days? You’ve never heard he was a party boy?
So, everyone that, say, shoplifted something when they were young, must be for stealing, for the rest of their life.
There is nothing you have done, that you now realise was a mistake?
Everything you have done, during your entire life, you think was good and right, and therefore everyone else should do also?
Ah, if only everyone were as perfect as you, actus.
If they don’t regret it. I dont think dubya regrets his youth. Maybe the part that lasted into his 40’s.
Damn, actus and mb are so tiring.
Same old shit, over and over again and again.
Oh well. Illogical. Emotional. Reactive. Ignorant. I will be killed before them in the new Islamist order, but I will die knowing they will follow soon after me, unless, of course, they donn appropriate attire and bend over for their Islamist masters believably.
In which case they will be as good as dead anyway.
I don’t think you have a clue what Bush regrets.
Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men?
The ACTUS knows!
Bedwetter.
I reserve judgment on Dr. Keroack. I was initially disappointed in his appointment, because I think this is a crucial position. But maybe he brings a fresh perspective. There is no doubt in my mind that simply yammering on about the abstinence crap won’t work. Perhaps he has some creative approaches; we’ll see.
Please allow me to complete the set, gents:
You know all that talk about Socialists, actard? And how you qualify? And how nauseating it is? Because it fails everytime? And morons like you simply cannot accept that? Because placing your group-grope pro-socialist arrogance before both reason and the rights of you fellows SO rocks?
You’re at it again, dopeous erectus. “So he must be quite for it” is surely your Freudian code for “damn, the POTUS surely must be pulling them fundy strings up there again. Probably he’s puttin’ stuff in all the red Jello, too”
But like McGehee sez, entirely without the facts to back it up. Dipshit.
I don’t think he cares so much to pull fundy strings. I think its more that he just wants this office to get bogged down, so he appoints this nutcase who doesn’t believe in contraception or family planning.
He said he regretted making some trade in his baseball team. The war? I don’t know if he thinks he’s made any mistakes there. Maybe he puts it all in Gods hand now.
Ahhh, I thought we were talking about pre-marital sex, and contraceptives.
Either way, you still don’t have a clue what Bush regrets.
But then, not having a clue has never stopped you from posting before…
We are. I’m listing what I know about his regrets. What do you think they are?
Which Gods?
Up to him really. I think he believes in at least one more god than me.
In an attempt to keep you maginally on topic, as far as his “party boy” youth goes, I can’t tell you what he regrets, as I don’t know what he has to regret, any more than you do.
I would hazard a guess that he regrets any hedinistic lifestyle he may have had, since he became a born again Christian and renounced all that, and has lead an exemplary personal life since.
As far as him now making decisions on the best way to reduce the problems assocciated with teen pregnancy and STDs, I have every confidence that Bushs motivations are to, as much as he can, prevent kids from making poor desicions and mistakes that he may, or may not, have made himself.
If you really want to talk about his choices as CIC, again, I don’t know what he regrets, because I don’t know what his options were, not being privy to all the info he had. I’m sure there have been many situations where he had to choose between a bad choice, and a worse choice. You can condemn him for making a bad choice (as you are want to do), when in reality he chose the correct one.
I’m also sure that many of the undesirable outcomes that you may point to and say were caused by bad decicions by Bush were, in fact, correct choices, hamstrung
by a hosile and borderline treasonous press, and a resentful and malicious democraric party.
No, you know jack shit about his or anybody else’s regrets, you arrogant little twit. What you are doing is making a complete ass out of yourself around grown-ups again.
He did quite clearly say during the 00 campaign that the biggest mistake of his life—up to then—was trading away someone from that baseball team he ran. I forget who.
Yes, Bush is known for his humour.
Someone without any can cue in by the smile, and the laughter of the audience.
Please carefully review your replies above, and defend your idiotic and blind allegiance. Just wondering.
That applies to both sides, incidentally.
