And I revel in the fact that Europe’s national language will soon be Arabic. (I really don’t. This is called sarcasm.)
Do they really believe that when Democrats take over, the West will cease facing an existential threat in the form of Islamofascism or Islamism (depending on the word of the moment)? Or will they gloat all they way to the guillotine of their own making?
“There is less White House in America now and a little less America in the world,” Dominique Moisi, special councillor at the French Institute of International Relations, told Reuters news service.
Even cutting off their noses economically doesn’t concern Europe:
Trade talks may sour
Observers also worried that trade negotiations currently underway between the US and the European Union could take a hit, post-election.
“The democratic Congress would probably be marginally more protectionist than the current one and this would not bode well for the current negotiations in the WTO framework, considering in particular that the ‘fast track’ mandate for the Bush administration for striking a deal expires in July 2007,” the European Policy Center’s Missiroli said.
Bush’s “fast track” negotiating power allows him to authorize trade deals.
Who cares about the economy slowing further in Europe when the favorite scapegoat is weakened? Let’s keep our priorities straight here!
It so interesting to see the European Nations turn into Islamoland. All their economic misery, immigration problems, and pessimism gets externalized in the form of hatred for an American President and the people who voted for him. They hate a man who they don’t vote for, who has no control of their economic, social or foreign policy and who will be out of office sooner rather than later.
Who will they blame then?

I wonder if they will survive the shock when they discover American Republicans aren’t the source of all the worlds problems.
Or even most of them.
Or any of the most serious ones.
Who will they blame then? Bushco. For (1) not solving their problem, (2) for creating their problem, or (3) for not actually creating their problem but for making their problem worse.
When you’re mental, it’s all good.
Lee, are you implying they will, at some point in the near future, regain an acquaintance with reality?
…’cause, I’d take issue with the “re” part, and, well…
You really can’t blame Europeans for their idiocy. I mean, they only get, like, four governmentally-operated TV channels, which pump US news at them on a minute-by-minute basis. They are impotent outside their microscopic domains, so they sit and watch, and form useless opinions to protect their egos.
Kinda like the post-election Republicans, ss?
If Europe is “doomed” maybe we should bring home the 60,000 military personnel we have stationed there and use the savings to pay down the debt.
One would hope they’d start picking on Nancy Pelosi but that’ll never happen. It’s the power suit.
The Europeans haven’t had a decent economy in so long, they wouldn’t know one if it beat them in the face with a wad of thousand-dollar bills. Besides, they’re dying. I used to think they’d call on us for help at some point, but I think they’ll just go quietly. And I don’t care. Which is sad.
monky: I like ya, but I gotta confess–. Even your brain moves its lips.
Actually, Monkeyboy, the parts of Europe that want us gone, I think maybe we should leave. Part of the reason they live under delusion is because they know the U.S. is there to save their Socialist bacon.
Gee, lookit. Monkyboy and Rumsfeld think alike.
Now if only ol’ Don had had that (D) after his name, Monkyboy could’ve gotten behind him.
But alas and alack…
Well,
People have been predicting Europe’s downfall for a couple thousand years now. I have to chuckle when I see doom predicted for anyone who doesn’t share the anti-Muslim paranoia.
As for their economy, it’s a mixed bag. Europe has some of the top trading nations in the world:
https://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/rankorder/2187rank.html
See if you can find America on that list…(hint, look waaaaaaaay down the list).
– We could cancel the debt tomorrow monkyears if we just eliminate all the entitlements. You’d be good with that, right?
Europe is like San Francisco – a nice place to visit, as long as you don’t have to talk to the deranged vegan-supremacist Che-T-shirt-hoarding Hiz’b’allah-poster-waving “The Green party are a bunch of neocon fascist stooges” locals.
Absolutely fucking impervious. You could cut diamonds with that brain of yours…
Well, not in the near future, but at some point they’re going to see that ‘ol Nanc isn’t stemming the tide of dimmitude.
Yo’u have to hand it to monkeygoop ahem. He has the “Hear the message, feeeeel the message, BE the message” down pat. Unfortunately, it seems while he was listening to the tape he was staring at a brick in his fireplace.
I, for one, appreciated the blue decor that only a lady could bring to a post. WB Mellisa, and monky; stop flinging poo on the nice lady’s post or we will put a diaper on you and chain you to a tree outside.
It said they were worried about that.
It said they were worried about that.
Hmmmmm…. with all the burning cars and gheto’s, it’s a wonder they even noticed….
Is there even the remotest chace that Europeans, or the rest of the world, for that matter, will understand that the US does not derive its power from the government? I am reminded of tha scene in that Tim Roberts viking movie were they are in awe of Valhalla except for the Christian missionary dude who can’t see it.
Tim Robbins, and yes, I have had a bit to drink tonight, thank you very much.
Moe – At the time I thought to myself, that he could actually see what they thought they were looking at, but it wasn’t Valhalla, it was an AM/PM minimart….
The Euro-peon’s need an outlet for their frustrations. Thay all know they will soon be under the thumb of Islam. It’s gone too far and they are powerless with their PC world to stop it. Disarmed all the citizens, did you. Wonder if the Burqa factories are running 24-7. The terrorists are sharping their head removal knives.
The pompus asses have a lesson coming and they will get it soon. Wonder how many will try to excape to America? Millions, but they will be in competition with the criminal Mexicans for the paid under the table less than minimum wage jobs.
If the budget is “doomedâ€Â, maybe we should stop creating, oh, say, 600,000 dependents a year and use the savings to pay down the debt.
[Why do I bother?]
[Why do I bother?]
Machoscism?
Monky,
Technically it’s anti-“youth” paranoia, but whatever.
Sockpuppet,
I’m glad Monky is joining in, had “it” not, I would have been spared this:
.
….and I needed a laugh! Thanks.
I never liked you very much, BBh.
Too damn honest…
Yeh. I hear you Moe…. Around the office they call me “Mr. Sunshine”…..
Scrap: I think you can put a fork in ‘em, too. The more I know about the French, the less I like them.
The only Europeans I’ll mourn are the Brits whom I’ve always admired.
actus, may I thank you for your familiar wooden style?
Because it sure beats trying to reason with an ape.
And a huge LOL at monkyboy, for not having a goddam clue at how powerful an economy you have to have to carry a debt like that.
Here is a tip, study the definitions and nuances of the word magnitude.
And see if you can find fifty European countries 230 years old and all alike on this one.
– I don’t know if that’s good advice for simian-pimp, Moe…. He seems to have enough of a ‘tude problem already….
Think I should ask monkyspunk where it calls home, BBh?
– You really think he’d be honest? I mean really? Because now that thar would be what they call one of those ge-u-wine miracles, yes it would.
– But if’n you want to ask, you’ll have to step outside…. Socks chained him to a tree an hour ago…..
Debt equals power, B Moe?
That’s Hugh Donald Rumsfeld is a great American and will be remembered before long as a great Secretary of Defense Hewitt class delusion.
I salute you, sir!
You have to ask? This is Europe we’re talking about here. They’re going to blame the Jews just like always.
Republicans have a bad election, so you guys say “Hey look over there! Bad Euros!” and everyone is suddenly talking all this nonsense about all the Islamic states that are going to pop up in Europe? I guess it beats blaming all the bad poll data on liberal bias.
Delusional! But please carry on.
No. Wait. Honestly, which European nation is on the verge of turning majority Islamic? Aside from some Yugoslavian castoff, I guess next in line might be Albania. And we all know that as Albania goes, thus goes… Albania.
Jon,
Have a look at the current percentage of Muslims in most any Western European nation and compare birth rates between them and the natives. Then try and think in a bit of a longer timeframe. We’re not talking about within the next fifteen minutes or so. I’ll grant that demographics can change, otherwise the Maltusians wouldn’t be such laughing-stocks. Even so, when 10-15% of a nation are reproducing like rabbits on roofies while the other 85-90% are doing so at less than replacement levels, then the latter group are going to loose their majority status over the next few decades.
Er, Malthusians. Preview & spell-check are my friends.
Even the French see the Democrats as the party of impotence. I wonder how long it is going to be before the Democrats realize the Europeans were rooting for them not because they thought it would be the best thing for the United States, but because it wouldn’t be.
I would love to be a fly on the wall when they realize that they aren’t loved, either.
Also note that muslims are not your usual minority, either.
Jon, this is the same thing we’ve been saying for the past 5 years. Is it too hard for you to be a good winner? Or do you HAVE to believe we’re exactly like you, with our cries of ‘Cheating!’ and ‘We’ll take to the streets!’?
We’re not, mon-douche. We’re concerned about the same things we always are, and considering how they might be acheived. They are:
1. Federalism/Rule of Law
2. National Security
Everything else to us is just fluff. Monky can yammer on all he likes about various things, but it’s just entertainment.
A friend of mine told me this.
“A truly small mind looks at the Muslims and say, ‘they hate us because of our involvement in the middle east.’
No- its very clear why they hate us. They hate us because it is their religious obligation.”
The one who is delusional is you.
Cyberludite (shouldn’t that be Cyberluddite? or is it a drug reference?),
Decades is a long time. And a lot can happen over a long time. The United States, with an influx of immigrants, didn’t turn Catholic, German, Polish, Congolese, Hispanic, or Irish because most of these immigrants, over the course of many years, turned American. Most Algerian immigrants in France haven’t overturned a car (and the French drive as badly as we do). Most Germans of Turkish descent haven’t made a terrorist plan to bomb a disco in Berlin. And most Irish immigrants in the US haven’t done a damn thing to turn us into a papocratic state, unless I haven’t seen the filthiest corners of white supremecist blogs. Please do not send links.
Are Islamists dangerous nutcases? Yes. But the majority of Muslims in Europe are there because they chose to move away from dangerous nutcases.
Europe will survive. It won’t be a completely smooth transition, but intermarriage and secularization are pretty strong forces in Western Europe’s arsenal. A thirty or whatever hour workweek, some football on the telly, and some ridiculously small cars will sort these terrorists-in-their-midst right.
Here in traitorous NYC, where Jews and other FELLOW AMERICANS can’t seem to avoid running into Muslims everyday and they STILL VOTED DEMOCRAT, we look to Wall Street to find out what the economy is up to. And they are pretty upbeat on Europe. Just incredible how the world can be DIFFERENT than you thought it was.
If you were a European, jon, would you be willing to bet your (way of) life on that?
Or would you consider that statement just a bit pie-in-the-sky idealism? Europe has been living under the delusion of multi-culturalism for over 30 years now. While it is cute to provide examples of American immigrants (especially love the “papocratic state”) virtually all of those immigrants successfully changed their allegiance when they became citizens. We now have an “under class” of illegal workers, most of whom have no interest in being Americanized. For a small percentage the end result has been the “reconquista” movement. Fortuneatly for us, there is nothing driving this portion like the historical religious imperative of Islam.
Of course I’m are not talking about all muslims but I am struck by the fact that radical muslims, fueled by their perceived religious imperative to conquer the world, make the most noise and, on a regular basis, cow the liberal to moderate muslim base into silence or, at worst, tacit approval.
If you believe that al qaeda or many other extremist organizations haven’t given some serious thoughts to the opportunites presented by Europe’s multiculturalism than you haven’t been paying attention to the continuous calls for a “bubble” of sharia law in Britain and the EU.
That will be the key lever. If any European country decides to follow that route as a concession to win a perceived respite from riots and terrorism, then the beginning of the end of European autonomy will be upon us. That may take ten years or fifty years but as long as Europe continues to hope for any compromise in national sovreignty as a palliative to unrest, the end will come.
That, in a nutshell, is what we’re worried about. If you choose to take the Alfred E. Neuman approach to this issue, then via con dios.
Jon,
Have you been to Paris? When I was there twenty years ago there was no assimilation between Muslims and the natives. The immigrants were a second class, housed in neighborhoods, and by all accounts the alientation has increased–thus the burning vehicles. Paris now has “no go” areas, where police and other services can’t and/or won’t be allowed to go. They must get permission from the local Muslim leader.
Secularization is just the problem. It does not answer the questions of life, and when you’re hopeless, you have lots of questions. So a girl must not wear her hijab. That’s just removing the symptom. If her heart, and her brothers, seeks identity, Islam will give it to them.
And bringing up the Euros is to caution America. If we abandon our assimilation ideals, we’ll end up in the same position. Thankfully here, the Muslim populations aren’t economically marginalized, but the younger generation is marginalizing themselves ideologically.
Judeo-Christianity is America’s foundation. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, or not, it isn’t exactly compatible with Wahabism.(sp?)
Really, the only question the West must answer is this: Who will submit?
French Economic Growth Unexpectedly Stagnates
(Bloomberg News)
There really isn’t that much to say about it: the poster says theyre ‘unconcerned’ and then includes a line about their ‘worries.’ Amazing.
Everybody has to have their upper west side liberal intelligentsia. Even if they have no upper west side.
– and even if they’re simply Seculars, that are neither Progressive, nor particularly intelligent…
– So then monkeyaactass-ect… you can’t wait for the coming submission huh?
France has done a lot to its muslims, but what they have not done is abandoned the idea of assimilation. In fact thats what they demand of them.
Actus,
What is your definition of assimilation? Wearing Calvin Kleins and watching Desperate Housewives? What the immigrants have learned is the Socialist language of victimhood. That’s a problem here, too. They’ve learned the language of entitlement, it’s the language of responsibility that’s still foreign to them.
So, how’s that working so far?
France is stuck on stupid assimilation. The whole head scarf/religious icon ban in the schools kerfuffle was a prime example. Take a symbolic act that had no real value other than to promote a utopian secularism and, in one fell swoop, piss off the muslims AND some jews and christians. Brilliant! Now, as Melissa points out, there are entire neighborhoods where police must obtain permission from islamic leaders before they can go in and…I don’t know…keep the peace!
Gee, let’s use that model of “assimilation” here. Not.
In france? Its being secular french. And probably white. In america? I don’t know, because as senator macaca just showed us, there is a lot to being American. Allen tried to assimilate into southern VA, and failed. If France has any lesson for us, its the dangers of obstinate demands of assimilation.
Terrible. As we say to our brown citizens here: welcome to america. Thats not what the french say.
Listen, dipshit, tell me where that debt came from. Didn’t I just post you a spending visual? Need it in crayon?
And tell us where you live.
Vision, jonboy. I never expect vision, reason, common sense, cause-and-effect, human behavior, reality, flesh-and-bones, concrete walls, 200mm shells, the public hangings of schoolchildren, or any historical perspective on tyranny whatsoever to cloud a leftard’s “mind.”
To leftists, it’s all static: If we tax the shit out of the American “rich”, we’ll solve my immediate poverty; now where did I put my welfare check?
Oh, and what tortured Iraqi’s?
Jon tips his hand, such as it it:
Wow. Just wow.
Uh huh.
Yep, and none were militant psychopaths. Except maybe the Catholics, if you’re an intolerant leftist atheist bigot, doped up on religion of Statism. Where’s david the sitepest when we need him?
That’s certainly encouraging. So, what flaming autos then, eh? Got it. Good thing we have “decades”.
Wit AND historical perspective? Over whole decades? Do you come with a warranty and free oil changes too?
I’m tempted to ask you to prove this assertion, jon. Just to see how deep your rabbit hole goes.
Actually, prove this one. And then, as long as your history and sociology are getting so darn comprehensive, add in that decades part too, ok?
But don’t those big changes come “over a long time”? The rest of the planet sees a damn clear sea change underway; you see at least “decades” of survival, couch it in a vague long time/big change scenario, and then mention a few entirely fragmented instances of the price of tea that have no bearing whatsoever?
A transition from what to what, jon? Sameness to a different sort of sameness? From white to brown? Care to define these changes?
Sorry. I. Asked.
But as long as we’re there, I’m relieved to finally learn that material wealth, secular entertainment, and the articles of personal liberty are gonna finally reform fanatic fundamentalism. We failed, the French will succeed. Probably the brie, right?
Kerry may not, but you do indeed have a Plan.
We need to stop and smell the roses for a minute because <trumpet blast> Actus and I agree on something!! We probably shouldn’t make it a habit, ya know, with all of the planetary orbit wobbles and the price of brie Tibet but, hey, let’s take what we can get.
America isn’t (and hasn’t been) perfect in welcoming immigrants, but we’re pretty much the best at it in the world. We’ve acheived a reasonable balance of nationalistic assimilation which allows the cultural identities to continue to flourish. That means that you can go the the 15th St. Italian American club, do the pledge of allegiance and then sit down to a traditional northern Italian meal, complete with old guys argueing in Italian about yesterday’s Bocce ball tournament.
The French are botching the job by making it a strictly secular exercise. I guess that their latent superiority complex won’t allow them to really grasp the realities of their system
We have butted heads before and shall butt heads again but I’m actually getting some pleasure out of our agreement. Now, back to the fray!!
Hey, sometimes we even mess up welcoming the natural born citizens. But things are getting better.
Actus; I extend the hand of bi-partisan agreement and you just had to take a shot, didn’t ya?
I’m very, very, very, very, very disappointed in you.
BTW my wife the former professional baker iNsists that Macacca is a rare and expensive chocolate from Madigascar, highly prized for upper end confections. So Allen’s comments were a compliment…really! *or* Did I just make that up? Google starts…….NOW!
Meh. for me the part that was awful was that allen was picking on the ‘foreign looking’ guy. Not what he said. And that Allen thought he’d ingratiate himself with southern VA by doing that. Not good. suburban California boys don’t assimilate well into southern VA.
Yea that was a dopey thing. See what happens when you try to be cute or tell a joke and people misunderstand what you’re trying to say? Hmm, sounds familiar. Yea, we were just talking about the “french.” Meh!
My grandparents were Portuguese and I have darker skinned (than me) relatives in S.E. Mass who have been through the whole racist thing (remember the infamous Big Dans Bar rape? The Jody Foster Oscar movie was based on that.) I’ll be more than happy to see that kind of stuff disappear. But I still want to be able to tell a polish joke!
So how about Rangel insulting the entire state of Miss? Isn’t politics a hoot? I can’t wait for Ted Stevens next PP demo…
When a leftist makes an assertion, I automatically assume it to be wrong. It is an unfortunate default, but it has proven to be a correct assumption so many times that it is hard to discard.
For years lefties said that the USSR was a good place, that it was only misunderstood. As it turned out, of course, Lenin and Stalin were monsters of murder. So were and are the red Chinese and Castro’s Cuba.
Why is it that leftist regimes readily conduct and support genocide and murder, something as the French likely did , when it aids the leftist agenda? Is it because good old Uncle Joe Stalin said that “You have to break a few eggs to make an omelet”?
Leftism’s American traitors have been revealed in the transcripts of the Verona tapes, which have proved what McCarthy charged – that there were spies for the Soviet Union in the Roosevelt and Truman administrations. Liberals, it seems, just seem to have a greater affinity for loyalty to governments that are not their own. But liberals denied the possibility and with their allies in the press created “McCarthyism” as a brand to suppress concerns about traitors in government.
My favorite example of Americans who were “victimized” by McCarthy were prominent leftists in Hollywood who were pacifist until Hitler attacked Stalin’s USSR, at which time they became ardent patriots. What is it about leftism that evokes a greater loyalty to foreign leftist states than one’s own?
The New York Times covered up the starvation of millions in the Ukraine and advanced a liberal agenda with the horrendous lies it published in Walter Duranty’s series between 1922 and 1934. In the series Duranty deliberately hid the planned starvation of millions in the Ukraine by Stalin. The Ukraine has pursued revocation of the Pulitzer Prize awarded to the Times.
Duranty also praised the productivity and economic achievements of the USSR, all of which have since been debunked by facts revealed after the USSR’s collapse.
The left’s way seems to be invested with suffering, limiting freedoms, and lies. While all systems are imperfect, generating suffering as a consequence of selfishness, expediency, or accident, it is a uniquely leftist tendency to employ suffering as an instrument of policy.
And before the kneejerk reply pointing out Hitler as an example disproving this statement, stop for a moment to realize that Hitler was a socialist, though a nationalist one opposed to the goals of the internationalist Comintern. Hitler’s National Socialism was socialism linked to nationalism, and Nazism was embraced by all sorts of non-Communist socialists as the wave of the future during the thirties.
Yeah, I see them getting threatened with actual physical annihilation every day, just like the European Jews. And who could forget the good old days when we rounded all the Liberal Intelligentsia up, put ‘em on a train, and gassed the fuckers? Good times.
actus, you are a shithead.
