More Violence [posted by The Colossus]

14 violent attacks a day.  2500 wounded since the beginning of the year.

No end to the civil war in sight.

Guys, this is the post from me you’ve been waiting for.

I’ve given up.  The aggressive tactics aren’t working.  It’s just been a cycle of violence, with no end in sight.  We’ve got to find some kind of accommodation.  Some way out of this quagmire.

What’s that?

Iraq?

Who’s talking about Iraq?

I’m talking about Paris.

    Paris, hell.

    U.S. out of Washington, D.C.!

  2. J. Peden says:

It’s a quagmire for sure. I suggest we get out now – of life.

Good point. It does have a 100% fatality rate so far…

  4. ThePolishNizel says:

Does cake go well with falafel?  Maybe the french will let us know.

  5. Publicserf says:

How do you say “Quagmire” in French?  “Paree?”

It’s long past time for the cheese-eating surrender monkeys to raise the white flag and strategically redeploy to Vichy.

More importantly, what wine goes with both?  I hope the French figure it out before they institute Sharia.  Cuz you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.

    – Colossus – There’s every possibility Paris leaned her leason this time, since her latest victim turned around and popped her in the face.

  8. B Moe says:

I have been wondering lately if the reason France didn’t back our play in Iraq is because they were hoping we would hit Normandy again.

I hadn’t thought of that fact, which itself only makes the situation more urgent. Goodby.

I think it is time to say: “Qui coupe le fromage?”

  11. ahem says:

I wouldn’t hit Normandy again if it were the last place on earth. It’s the Helen Thomas of beaches.

    Good day to you, sir!

    When’s the surrender scheduled for?

Should we set our Tivos now?

I’m just glad I got to visit Paris before this latest shitstorm hit.  Wonder if the fwench will discover a spine amongst them?  chirac should be hanged like mussolini was.  He has given fwance to the muslims.  Hope the Louve manages to smuggle all that art out before sharia law is implemented and the imams declare it all obscene.  Imagine the bonfires.  And I guess the wine growers will need to replace their grapes with poppies.

    MSgt Theresa,

My wife and I visited Paris in 2005, in April.  It was lovely—lovelier than I remember from my trips there in the 1980s. We also got to London and rode the tube.

    Then, in the fall—madness.

Both of us remember our trip fondly; but now I wonder if we’d go back.

William Manchester, in The Last Lion, relates that Paris was beautiful in the spring of 1940, too.  Not to compare the times, of course, except to relate to the feeling of wistfulness he conveys.  I wonder if I will see Paris again, and under what circumstances.

  16. Paris is burning? says:

Paris is burning?  Oh no, where will we go for contemputous anti American snobbery?

  17. RC says:

Oh you can find that snobbery just about anywhere.  Hollywood and NYC leap to mind.

  18. Percy Dovetonsils says:

I wonder if we can sell arms to both sides.

  19. Sigivald says:

Ever since the “car burning riots” of last year (it was last year, wasn’t it?) I’ve had the feeling that the French are likely to wait until things get utterly intolerable… and then start machine-gunning rioters.

    Hopefully I’m wrong.

Percy: Naw, the rioters have little money, and plenty of access to cheap Kalashnikovs if it comes to that, and the French are happy with their FAMAS rifles and the rest of their small arms are mostly Continental. They won’t be buying M-4s, that’s for sure.

    Hopefully you’re wrong about…what?

Them waiting or them machine gunning?

I have no problem with the latter myself. You break the law, you harm police trying to do their job, and threaten the public? You refuse to peacefully stand down? You die. Simple, end of discussion, end of debate.

I hear you The Colossus.  We were there in Feb 03.  Froze our asses off, but it was still awesome.  Even though I have nothing but contempt for the fwench themselves, Paris is abolutely stunning and I’ve been to a few European cities in my time.  Well, maybe this will make the rest of Europe take a long hard look at the enemy within and start making some changes in their “tolerance” of the bigotry and hate spewed by this particular immigrant group.  I fear my mother’s homeland, Holland, is not far behind fwance.  I still have faith that the Brits will pull their collective heads out and start fighting back though.  I love the UK and hate to see them giving in to the cancer that is islam.
