  1. Techie says:

I’m not seeing it on the Fox website?

Is it still just on the tube?

    Tw:  Other.

Otherwise this would have been an ordinary day.

  2. Hoodlumman says:

Just another distraction from Ned Lamont.

  3. Techie says:

    Okay, now it’s up

Way to get ahead of the news cycle there, Jeff.  By all of 5 minutes.

  4. PC says:

CNN headline news says the 21-year-old guy tried to force his way into the cockpit carrying a bottle of liquid…..

  5. The Ace says:

(IsraelNN.com) A hijack attempt of a Qatar airline flight from capital of Doha to Amman, Jordan has been foiled according to the Arab Al Jazeera television station.

One of the passengers tried to break into the pilot’s cabin when security personnel overcame him. Earlier in the day, Britain said it has arrested a terrorist cell which was almost ready to carry out multiple on-board attacks on several flights to the United States.

I bet it was Cheney, in the bunker, who came up with that one!

As we sit and moan in our armchairs about the dark days of this seemingly unending War, the problems in Iraq or Afghanistan or Lebanon, as we concentrate on the gatdamned pea though it sits below a $4500 pillowtop Chattham & Wells, it is easy to lose sight of the fact that these arrests are the Mount Suribachis of this war. No less hard fought– although with diligence instead of blood– and no less significant.

We are taking the islands one by one.

  7. Tman says:

Two things about todays events that seem rather telling.

1.) The 11th of the month sure seems popular with these nutbags. So much for originality. Can we now insitute an El-Al like racial profiling on the 11th of each month?

2.) Also, enough with the talk. Give the pilots a gun or a tazer or something. Most of them are ex-military anyways. Sooner or later these idiots will make it to the cabin, and we don’t need a repeat of anything.

  8. TODD says:

No!!! Not the Islamists!!!  Here we go again with the racial profiling at all airports. How does that saying go again? Not all Arabs are terrorists, but all terrorists are Arabs……Jus saying ya know?

Most excellent point. Kudos to the spooks and cops that are getting these bastards before they get us.

  10. PC says:

now they’re saying that it wasn’t a hijaking attempt?

    <a href=”http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14286457/” target=”_blank”>

    confused

  11. Tman says:

    Huh.

I’m an idiot. Today’s the 10th. This coffee is lying to me.

Sigh – can’t even post a link right.

  13. Pablo says:

The first report I heard on it (radio) was that it was not a hijack attempt.

  14. BeeCharmer says:

So the Reuters / Al Jazeera merger has been

    completed?

TW: Program, as in I need to get with it.

  15. TODD says:

Now the fun begins, with all the posturing by the Dems trying to ramp up their Anti terror positions and show that they are the champions of the security of the US.  Prediction: About a week before the Dems go back to the antiwar stance……

Random armadillo sightings are a bad sign.  Bump up the security level to . . .  shit, what’s that color again?

  18. Additional Blond Agent says:

    Brown…

  19. MarkD says:

Tell me it’s not true!  If the armadillo was busted hijacking an airliner to Doha, we’ll never see him dance.

    Why Doha?

    Where is Doha?

Wait, don’t answer.  I don’t think they brew beer, so I’ll never go.  Places without breweries don’t exist on my map.

  20. Rick says:

    Naturally, I blame George Bush.

    Cordially…

  21. shit, what’s that color again?

    Puce.

  22. Meg Q says:

    Why Doha?

Well, obviously these guys are also World-Bank-protestor types (in their spare time, I guess) who wanted to make sure the Doha round had really bombed. In a crash-and-burn. And was good and dead.

  23. Meg Q says:

    Puce.

BTW – Charlie, what have you been eating???  tongue wink

Doha is the capital of Qatar, although “Doha” is a common name in that area.  I think it means “port”.

However, while Doha, Qatar, lacks microbreweries, they don’t lack brewskis.  I had some excellent Guineas whilst there, perfectly legal, and attended a very spirited party where a tequila shot contest ruled the evening.

In fact, the city is a vacation center for the region, with a lot of first class hotels, resturants, and entertainment.  And a world class golf course to boot.

Plus Qatar is a major ally of the Coalition, even if al Jazeera is headquartered there.  Hey, the WaPo is in Washington, D.C.!

    Charlie,

Did ya have to mention Treacher?
