Following warnings by extremist Islamic group al-Muhajiroun, in which the group said that the red cross in the England flag symbolizes the ‘blood thirsty crusaders’ and the occupation of Muslims, some of the largest companies in England have ordered their workers not to wave the flags.
The flag has recently appeared in England on everything from bikinis to cars, and sold in endless versions in stores.
But the Islamic protest forced some corporations, such as cable companies NTL, Heathrow airport in London, and even the Drivers and Vehicles Licensing Agency to ban the flag in every form due to fears from reactions of Muslims.
The Sun tabloid newspaper has in recent days launched a campaign to bring back the flag, and has published a blacklist of companies preventing their workers from expressing their patriotism at work.
The Sun said that a large pub network has banned drinkers from entering with symbols of the national team.
The hero of the day is a two year-old toddler, who was thrown out with his parents from Leicester, because he wore the England team’s uniform.
Hmm. This seems dubious to me, but it certainly is a story to keep an eye on for some sort of corroboration.
As I’ve noted in the past, private businesses (like Burger King, during the UK swirly cone incident), have every right to make pragmatic decisions about how they want to present themselves to the public. But governmental organizations banning the flag? This is practically an admission that sovereignty is being surrendered in the pursuit of not giving offense.
And if this story is indeed true, England—long a proponent of the very multiculturalist dogma that has led to its visible Balkanization and growing pockets of Islamic control—has just given up a huge piece of its identity in order to appease a threat that it must, before long, take on directly.

You know, this whole grievance politics thing seems like a blast (if you’ll pardon the expression).
Lest we forget, the Crusades were a sporadic and almost totally ineffective counter-offensive against the Muslim war of aggression that subjugated a good fraction of the (then) known world over the course of a few decades in the seventh and eighth centuries.
At their height, the Crusades managed to take back maybe 1% of the territory the Muslim armies had conquered in their original war of aggression.
So I think we should turn the thing around. Why was it OK for the Muslims to conquer everything they could get their hands on, including the holy sites of several much older religions, but not OK for the Crusaders to try to take back what had been unjustly seized?
We need to alter the narrative, so the Crusaders are properly viewed as the victims of past aggression waging an intifadah against the illegal occupation of their holy places. Fighting for the Right of Return, as it were.
Oh sure, there were probably some regrettable acts of butchery – innocent women and children put to the sword and that kind of thing. I’m struggling to find a way to express just how corrupt the Left is these days. The contrast between conservative patience (snark notwithstanding) and outright leftist mendacity couldn’t be more pronounced than it is these days.

In my county, you can’t move for flags – they are flying on cars, vans, from windows – some enterprising souls are flying home made flags (from bedsheets, judging from the size of them!) from their bedroom windows.
It’s become a local competition to find the house flying the most flags & pass it on to your friends, so everyone drives out of their way to have a look….
So somehow, I can’t see the various company bans having the slightest effect!

I will NEVER fly a Standard before my house. Not because I am so “UN-American” as to not respect the “Flag” but rather, I know the MEANING of the flag, I was a Marine, and a very good one when I wasn’t being incarcerated.
