I got nuttin’…

    SB: food

    Mmmm….

  2. spurringirl says:

Thanks for keeping that on the front page for us Jeff!

  3. Cardinals Nation says:

This is perhaps the most important story of our lifetimes. Nothing short of democracy is at stake.

Jeff; thanks for taking the lead on this. Glad to see the truth here first.

  4. Jeff Goldstein says:

Well, I’ve left plenty of space to plug in the news when it breaks.

But I have chores to do and can’t wait around all day.

  5. Goddammit Jeff, I refreshed my browser like five times and cursed your server before realizing the gag. =8^]

You should get a picture of a tumbleweed or something to put in there.

    yours/

    peter.

  6. Paul Zrimsek says:

I don’t understand. What does Sen. Robert Byrd (D-WV) have to do with the Rove indictment?

  7. Robb Allen says:

Ok I’m a little confused. Every time the kos-kiddies get one wrong, is it a shot or do we chug a full beer?

Because my poor kidneys are killing me.

  8. commander0 says:

    MINIMALIST

  9. Tman says:

    BECAUSE OF THE WHITENESS!!

  10. Sherard says:

Oh man, the “pins and needles” theme over at Talkleft is laugh out loud funny. Talk about delusions of grandeur – Rove is supposed to be on pins and needles waiting for the inevitable – or so reported daily for a week now – indictment that appears to be a phigment of their imaginations.

    Oh, that’s a hoot

  11. Sherard says:

But hey, I suppose there must be some truth to this considering the exact same M-O by Fitz when he indicted Libby. Or, err, wait a sec, he held a big ole press conference for that one, huh. Hhhhmmmm… not even a peep – Fitzgerald to Hold PRESS CONFERENCE… nothing…

    golly, what could it all mean ? ? ? ? ?

  12. you ought to know that it’s not lost on anyone that you’re using nothing but white space on this. i find it reprehensible that you’re taking this obviously racist tone!

  13. Beck says:

Oh God, I just crapped my pants.

    Again.

    -damnit-

  14. Pablo says:

It’s 2:54 PM. Do you know where your Special Prosecutor is?

  15. Muslihoon says:

Why is this issue so important for the Left? I don’t see how anything in this issue of Plame et al. affects or concerns national security. There are surely far more pressing issues, no?

    I’m confused.

  16. McGehee says:

Why is this issue so important for the Left?

Because Karl Rove is Darth Sidious and Sauron and Hitler all rolled into one.

    Didn’t you get the memo?

  17. TODD says:

Well @ 12:13pm Pacific, no indictment as of yet…

The Market is closed, is it safe to come out yet?

    Nice

And to think I got all dressed up for nothing…..

  18. Lloyd says:

    Excellent…………

  19. Major John says:

Curse you Jeff! My screen showed only the Title of the post…I all but choked to death on my coffee before scrolling down enough to get the joke…

    You dangerous, man.

  20. runninrebel says:

Please don’t tell me I sandbagged the house for nothing.

  21. h0mi says:

You should get a picture of a tumbleweed or something to put in there.

Or a picture of Kos peering into a window.

Nice that the “submit the word you see below” should be “soviet”.

  22. Leni says:

I was just over at TalkLeft. The comments are priceless. I guess come 5pm there is going to be all these sad little moonbats.

I sure hope this guy has finally peed or least is wearing a depends.

w0551-Isn’t it plausible that no announcement was made for reasons that will be soon apparent?

It is not like this admin believes in playing by expected rules or common practice.

TW: South. All the moonbats theories have gone south.

  23. runninrebel says:

I was just over at Talkleft as well. They seem to be fueled by the hope of an indictment rather than any credible information about one. Their stance now is that even if there is no indictment this week, they are still correct because there will be an indictment at some point.

Which, you know, whatever. The odds are still fifty-fifty.

  24. natesnake says:

I was just over at TalkLeft. The comments are priceless. I guess come 5pm there is going to be all these sad little moonbats.

It’s like watching the John Stewart’s Comedy Central election coverage in 2004. So convinced of an impending victory. The anxious facial expressions. The forced laughs. The slow drain of life force leaving his body.

    It still makes me smile

  25. kelly says:

    4:45PM EDT.

Karl’s gotta be thinkin’ ‘bout cocktail hour soon.

  26. Leni says:

It is always the goal post thing. Whatever the issue they are always moving the goal post.

tw: means. The means always justify the ends. I know I am stating the obvious.

  27. Leni says:

Its 5pm do you know where your indictments are?

  28. runninrebel says:

ohhhhh, missed it by that much.

  29. kelly says:

    5:00 PM EDT

I reckon Karl’s got his dinner reservations by now.

  30. Leni says:

I am sorry I can’t help myself. snake

It is now 5:00 PM May 19th. No Fitzmas. This has had me ready for smelling salts since last Sat. This is getting out of hand. If nothing happens period, I mean never, I may have to require a suicide watch for myself. I guess Fitz has his own schedule and doesn’t cater to my wants or needs. I wish he did and this would be over.

  31. capt joe says:

So are we at the Nelson moment yet. Yes, I think so

    HA ha!

TW: section as in section 9 where the lefties are.

  32. (Que the final jeopardy background jingle)

    TALKING TRUTH TO VACUUM!!!!

    TW: “Ohhhh the pressure…..”

  33. Leni says:

Sorry I forgot to add the above post was a cut and paste from talkleft.

  34. Bing – Bong….

    – Sorry….no one had the right answer to tadays final jeopardy question…. which of course was:

    “In your wet dreams moonbats”

    – But. Each of you will recieve a nice Ficus plant to take back to the home with you, and now a few words from our sponsers….

  35. runninrebel says:

Somewhere, a moonbat has lost it wings.

  36. diffus says:

    What a racist post!

  37. The_Real_JeffS says:

    So. No indictment, huh?

    Where’s the ‘dillo?

    hmmm

  38. McGehee says:

Wait—wait! I think I just saw a puff of white smoke from the chimney!

No. No, that’s just the smoke from some BDS-sufferer’s head exploding. My bad.

  39. I would love for Leopold’s story to be true, but it clearly is not. It’s 6pm and the Rover is still alive and kicking. This should be a warning to all bloggers to not hit that ‘publish’ button when reporting news unless you can confirm every detail of it backwards and forwards.

  40. TODD says:

I guess I can breath now, whew that was close….

  41. Tom M says:

So, does blank real estate still use up bandwidth? Seems you’re investing a lot into this huge story. Shame, and all.

    tw: “hour” heh.

  42. a4g says:

Let’s all go have some sponge cake and a little wine…

    and shit.

  43. BoZ says:

Even though I think that a politician’s place is hanging from a bridge—and I mean *all* of them, Rove included—it’s an opinion without any visceral excitment attached. I just think so, for, like, reasons. Evidently I’m missing out on one of the best things in life.

There’s an ever-loudening feedback loop between American leftoids’ persecution fantasies—that each Republican administration is the MOST RASCIST FACIST EVA (though it never is), and that the government is ever more after them (until any Democrat’s elected, demonstrable degree of racist fascism regardless)—and their prosecution fantasies—that some deeper, permanent heart of the state (always on their side, note) will see to it that all these transient elected enemies are impeached, indicted, and “frogmarched” into a not-racist-at-all (no!) daydream of prison rape by a faceless black homunculus (or the white-trash “Bubba” who’s his transparent rhetorical whiteface).

So much satisfaction must come from these seldom-realized secondhand-S&M reveries—they’re shouting, rhythmically, orgasmically, the same things over and over again—but it’s completely alien to me, a person who really does think the government, down to the last meter maid, needs a good frogmarching.

Not that the Republican side isn’t like this—it’s an evil inherent in democracy, where voting creates a self-identification with the state that inevitably turns perverse and violent—but it’s so much less so, doesn’t revel in it, and marginalizes those who take it to the crazed level we’ve seen from the leftoids this week, and at “Fitzmas,” and…

    I guess what I’m saying is, Jeff’s a drug-addled Nazi.

  44. Sue says:

The time has now come, however, to issue a partial apology to our readership for this story. While we paid very careful attention to the sourcing on this story, we erred in getting too far out in front of the news-cycle. In moving as quickly as we did, we caused more confusion than clarity. And that was a disservice to our readership and we regret it.

    Marc Ash

  45. Sean M. says:

The comments on that thread are priceless, Sue. Especially the guy who said “See you Monday.” Ah, hope springs eternal!

  46. Paul Zrimsek says:

Do not meddle in the affairs of Fitzes, for they are subtle and slow to… pretty much anything.

  47. Pablo says:

While we paid very careful attention to the sourcing on this story, we erred in getting too far out in front of the news-cycle.

    Wow. big surprise

Methinks it was the facts they left in the rear view mirror, not the news cycle.

The comments are stunning in their clarity:

edburke and who are you to ask questions?

do you support TO? If the response is satisfactory to TO supporters who pay the bills then I think it should be ok with you, who feed off of others contributions. Have you questioned George W. Bush about his sources that fed the WMD lies or 911 sources who warned this administration before 3,000 innocent people were killed? What investigative credentials do you hold, that warrant you to ask such questions?

You got a problem with speaking truth to power? Somebody get Leopold. We’ve got a cynic in our midst…

  48. Dave Eaton says:

It’s especially interesting to watch them turn on one another. Taking one another to task about casting aspersions on truthout’s ‘reporting’ is a riot. Getting things absolutely wrong and not having the balls to admit it, even refusing to back off a little- if that’s what passes for being credible, it kind of takes the fun out of watching them twist in the wind. Like watching that film in anthropology class where two chimpanzees toy with a chicken- it’s funny, sure, but sort of sad, too.

  49. Any X-File character who can get funky with Scully says:

Coming Soon, to a theatre near you:

    DUDE! WHERE’S KARL’S INDICTMENT?

A Whine and Cheezy Production in association with Michael Moore and the Film Actors’ Guild

  50. cthulhu says:

You have such a way with words…
