  1. Dean Esmay says:

Enh. The peaceful British muslims picketing don’t deserve to be lumped in with the Syrian scumbags, do they?

  2. harrison says:

A few of the peaceful British muslims blew themselves up in the London subway system not too long ago.

    So, yeah.

  3. Techie says:

Why does it feel more and more like I’m reading “The Guns of August” when I turn on the TV or read the internet…?

  4. Not at Kos, Techie… I was just posting on the previous thread that you have to go to the second page over there in order to find any mention of the story.

    Nothing to see here…

So far, they’re peaceful. Their actions are still peaceful—but their rhetoric involves threatening beheading, an iminent “real holocaust”, calls to celebrate the 9/11 and 7/7 terrorists, etc.

So, yeah, they do deserve that lumping.

It sounds like they’ve been reading LGF and the turner diaries.

  7. I’ve never heard of Charles celebrating the 7/7 terrorists, or the 9/11 terrorists, or threatening anyone with beheading or a “real holocaust”. I have no doubt you can dredge up a few comments to that effect, but that has as much bearing on the matter at hand as a fart in a hurricane. And, really, trying to link LGF and white supremacists…

From the tone and nature of the comments you’ve been making tonight, it’s almost as if you’re uncomfortable with people discussing the level of hatred and the desire for violence being expressed by the European Muslim community.

  8. Sortelli says:

Hey, I think we should start learning to appreciate actus.  It’s gotta be hard spending the entire day thinking of the most absolutely stupid thing that could be said in any given situation.

  9. Sean M. says:

Naw, Sortelli, I’m pretty sure it’s just a reflex.

Must be that darn babelfish English->Arabic. Or maybe the reading’s not so literal.

Nah. I think its quite fine to deride all manner of theocrats.

Then go where they are and deride them there. Ain’t none ‘round these parts.

    Actus? Actus Deo?

    SB: even

    and odd

  13. tachyonshuggy says:

We really dodged a bullet having Mohammed born way before photography was invented.

  14. Matthew O. says:

It’s the end of the World as we know it,

    But I feel Fine…

Guns of August, quite possibly, Damm

I do wonder why the Imams chose to inflame their followers over this.  Is Europe that weak?

Given the delay between the original publication and the major outbreak, and the obvious preparation that went into the protests, there are a handful of competing theories going around:

o Iran wants to pressure Europe in general and Denmark in particular in regards to UN sanctions for Iran’s nuclear program.

o Al’Qaeda laying the justifications for their next attack. (Not likely, IMHO. They already have all the rationalizations they need.)

o European imams trying to sweeten the danegeld they already get.

The jihadis believe Europe is weak—I suspect the handling of the French riots helped them get that idea. It remains to be seen whether they’re right.

Actus – comments by commenters =/= personal beliefs of Charles. I have seen him chastize, severely scold, and even delete and ban people who post extremist remarks. Your association of LGF with “Kill the Muslims!” rhetoric is inaccurate.

They love Jesus too! When He returns, boy, are they going to be red-faced when they find out He’s the Son of God!

I just hope for the End of Days to just come already, for Jesus / ha-Mashiach / Isa (and/or al-Mahdi) / Saoshyant / Kalki / Maitreya to just appear already and deliver us from evil people.

Islam – the “religion of peace” couched in rhetoric of violence.
