Unexpectedly — Former Gitmo prisoners arrested for recruiting for al Qaeda in Syria [Darleen Click]

Heck of a job, Barry!

Two former detainees at the Guantanamo Bay prison in Cuba were arrested by Belgian police in a counterterrorism operation targeting a recruiting network for al Qaeda in Syria.

They were arrested Wednesday night along with three others as they were about to break into a house to raise funds in the town of Hoboken, near Antwerp, a senior Belgian counterterrorism official told CNN.

“We have dismantled a serious recruiting network for Syria,” the official told CNN.

One of the former Guantanamo Bay detainees was Moussa Zemmouri, 37, a Moroccan national born in Antwerp, Belgian federal prosecutors announced Friday. The other was an Algerian identified as Soufiane A., who prosecutors believe spent time in Syria. […]

Zemmouri was released from Guantanamo in 2005 and authored a book “Innocent at Guantanamo” after returning to Belgium. His case was featured prominently by the UK Muslim prisoner advocacy group CAGE, which has long maintained that he has no links to terrorism.

And Charles Manson has repeatedly insisted that he was framed.

(Not for nothing, but this guy was released in 2005, when Bush was President, only four years after 9/11. Barry is a SCOAMT, but he had nothing to do with this guy.)

    Unexpectedly. But, unfortunately, not unprecedented.

Yeah, but they’ll pay it in Euro-time meaning not very much.

Also, I read elsewhere that the Islamomaniacs were preparing to rob someplace or other to fund their Islamomania.

my guess is ISIS has its eye on pilfering lots of Iran’s sweet sweet sanctions monies Obama’s giving them Mr. 40

  7. We often, rightly, bring up the similar tactics employed by the Nazis and now by the Mohammedins.

I’ve been re-reading Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn’s Lenin In Zurich and doing so has reminded me of the fact that the Bolsheviks robbed banks to fund their activities [Stalin being one of the bank robbers]. And, as you might imagine, this is not the only tactic of the Bolsheviks the Mohammedins employ.

    Totalitarians: Vultures Of A Feather.

  8. OT, But Related To My Comment Above…

I highly recommend reading Lenin In Zurich [the H.T. Willetts translation] because it’s a very insightful [and frightening] look inside the mind of one of the Leftist Masterminds.

Mr. Solzhenitsyn did wide and extensive reading of Lenin’s writings before he wrote it and most of the thoughts and words expressed by Ulyanov are his own.

I think it essential that we understand how these Totalitarians think if we are to fight them effectively.

[For those of you that unaware of the book’s provenance: The chapters are taken from his huge work, The Red Wheel.]

  9. Also, I was inspired in my conclusions by GeoffB – although he is not responsible if I’m wrong.
